Old-fashioned cottage with a fireplace

A cottage in old-fashioned style. So be ready that facilities and furniture are not new, but they have its own style. Kitchen is full of cooking staff and tableware. Neighborhood is quite safe and looks nice, there is no fence around the house, but there is an alarm system.

During winter season it was a little bit cold, but there is a fireplace, a gas heater and a small electric heater. There were electric sheets in the beds. So we were quite comfortable, but take warm pajamas with you. I think this advice is common for all apartments at this period of the year. When we arrived there were no firewood, but we asked and we were provided with it next day. I would suggest to give firewood in the beginning, because you don’t know where to take it when you arrive and there is a load shedding. At the time of load shedding, there was no generator, so no electricity, but wi-fi worked and there were several lamps with batteries, so it was tolerable.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Beds were super.

This property was gorgeous. loved the quiet area and walking distance to the sea. not far from Center Hermanus. loved our stay and will definitely book it again. well worth the money spent during our Christmas stay.

Very nice house in a great location

Great location. so close to the cliff path and beaches. Five minutes drive into Hermanus centre where there was lots of free parking. Great pub/ restaurant 2 minutes walk. Very spacious clean and well equipped house

All over it was a nice stay

The property is situated near the walking paths along the beach which brings you right to Grotto beach and Dutchies. In our road was the Lizettes kitchen which was nice to watch the tennis during lockdown and have dinner or breakfasr must just remember to book.

The house is very cold in winter and the fireplace is not good enough to warm it up. After being provided with heaters it was better. Wifi was jit string enough to have a teams meeting which qas a bit friustrating as we had to work while being there. The little stepladder at the stoep is a bot wobbly and that stoep is a danger for small kids

It's a home away from home vacation destination

The house was nice and cozy.

The minal curtains on windows; it felt like someone will peep through and watch your every move.

A very comfortable and happy stay.

The location was excellent and safe in a quiet and friendly suburb and close to the beach. It was also not too far from Hermanus town

The tiled floor was a problem. Cement grouting was crumbling and making the floor dirty

Very good beach holiday.

Excellent location in Voelklip. Easy walk to nearby beaches. Restaurant and shops close by. Quiet neighbourhood.

The lack of shade on the back verandah / braai area. Umbrella or pergola is a necessity in the middle of summer. Very uncomfortable and old seating in TV lounge area. That we weren't advised of the stand alone outbuilding on the property in which a person lived. The outbuilding is in very close proximity to the main house. The comings and goings of this person sometimes interrupted our gatherings on the lawn under the tree. We did not feel welcome in this space, but used it due to lack of shade on verandah (see above). No place to securely store mountain bikes and surfboards - seems like the garage was off limits.

We had a wonderful time at Stone Cottage- many happy family memories.

The location is perfect and the Cottage was equipped with everything we could need. We were made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay

The owners were friendly and always available to help with any requests and dealt with issues promptly. The cottage is spacious and comfortable.

The kitchen cupboards smell like mothballs because of the stuff they are using to kill roaches. While I appreciate that they need to kill the roaches, it made the kitchen unpleasant to use and we couldn't store anything in the cupboards cos they smelt really bad. The dishwasher also had mold growing in it.

Good location, short drive to town and to view sites. Standalone house so nice for a family with a lot of space, garden at the back, entertainment area with braai, lock up garage. Stocked kitchen with crockery and cutlery, fridge, washing machine. Easy for keys on arrival and departure. Welcome gift bottle of wine and sweets.

Old. House and furniture needs an update. No wifi - I later checked and this was mentioned in the online details which I had missed - I hadn't taken note of that because I would have just expected this to be available. Cleaning charge of R400.
