The host was excellent. He was very friendly and courteous. The location was close to everything and th3 side had so much character!

Property very centrally located within the city walls. The main square was just minutes away on foot, as we’re all the other main attractions.
The room had a musty smell and could not be aired out because the window wasn’t screened (flies). The room was cold at night (May) and no extra blankets were provided. The beds could have been better but at this price point, this level of quality is to be expected. Although there was a stand-alone heater, we were not shown how to operate it and were not about to start fiddling with it in the middle of the night so all to say we were exhausted the next day. Host was a nice man but he told us upon arrival that we had to be out by 10 am the next day because he had an appointment. He also made us commit to a breakfast time. Breakfast was passable. We should have been more assertive I suppose but I’m not sure it would have helped.

The host is a wonderful man. He likes to share with his guests. We were very interested in his life story. And the history of his beautiful house. We experienced something very special, a journey in the history of Portugal. The house is located in the historical centre of Evora. We can walk to all the interesting sites. We had a lovely time. A pure delight.

The hotel was an old house which made it very special. No reception but the owner was brilliant. At the top of the concrete steps inside the hotel/house was a full set of armour. Not what you would usually expect but unique. The hotel owner was terrific and offered loads of advice. Even allowed us to park our car in his garage (at a cost!)
Breakfast was limited but OK.

This is a beautiful 16th century building, stunning, but it comes with amenities that could use updating. Even so a very comfortable place to stay in the middle of the old city.

The breakfast is good
The location is perfect
The bed was good but not exceptional.
The price of the parking of the hotel: too high considering the urban prices

This is not a typical hotel to expect, we recommend this for everyone seeking and extraordinary and authentic stay in an old city palace, where you feel the 500 years of history of the house.
The host was super nice. He showed us around and explained very short but interesting for how long his family owned the place. Our suite was wonderfully furnished and despite everything felt like living in an old castle they still had good wifi and air-condition.

The property itself is amazing - you feel like you are staying at a museum. The host is super friendly and helpful, he accommodated our early check in and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
Because this is a 450-year old house, it lacks some modern hotel conveniences - not enough outlets. no coffeemaker in the room. etc. Also, the shower holder in our room was broken

This place is in amazing location, right in the middle of the old city. Frank, the owner of this 450+ year old home was wonderful, very accommodating and extremely pleasant. But I need to mention this is not a hotel, but rather pretty much an Airbnb-like property in this very pretty private residence. Everything is antique, so if you like this kind of setup, you’ll be very happy. However, if you expect a nicely furnished hotel, this is not your place. There’s no TV in the unit, no soap, no shampoo, just a conditioner/shampoo bottle in the bathroom. The breakfast is pretty much pre packaged food , with a a few slices of ham and cheese. None of the glorious European breakfast you might be looking for. And to finish, I want to restate that Frank is a really nice host, trying to please you in any possible way. But for us, it was way to “personal” and too much contact with the host.
I’ve said all above. Not really a hotel but more of Airbnb with a host. Definitely not our style, but as I said above, Frank the owner is a really nice guy.

This was a very special place. A family home with a history of 200 years, so you forgive it this and that. The host was very, very nice, coming to pick us up when we could not find just the right door and recommending paces to go and restaurants.
It is an old house, so it has old hous things, but as it was a special place, this does not matter at all :)
