We enjoyed every aspect from the room to the pool to the breakfast to the common rooms. Staff exceptional.
Perfect stay, the only improvement would be to have dining on site, but the did recommend an excellent restaurant nearby that we enjoyed.

beautiful setting, so nice staff, great breakfast

lovely and helpful staff, very accommodating. Breakfast was perhaps the best breakfast we have had in a really long time - very fresh produce and a delightful setting.

Well done!

I can’t even explain how wonderful this property is. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and Emma is the most gracious, generous and kind person. The whole experience was better than I could have expected.
We loved everything about it and can’t wait to go back. The grounds are meticulously cared for and the staff are kind and go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble.
We were looked after every minute of every day.
I can’t think of a better place to be.

It was the third time we spend some days in this Chateau. It is superb. Everytime we leave, I wish I could stay longer.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. It's immaculately kept and we loved the space to play pétanque. The inside communal areas are very cozy and we loved being able to grab a glass of wine and play a game of chess or find a cozy spot to read. Our room as lovely and the breakfast was a delicious spread.
The property itself is located a good distance from any restaurants or markets. Be aware that if you don't have a car, you will need to take expensive and time-consuming taxis to the nearest restaurants. I wish the property did more to offer food beyond breakfast so that we didn't need to travel so far to get meals.

Beautiful Chateau with exceptional service. The park like grounds allow you to relax, play a game of pétanque or table tennis or take a dip in the pool. Breakfast was excellent, even moreso when the weather allowed us to sit under the trees outside the breakfast room. Great facilities and a lovely atmosphere. We had a car and the Chateau was a great central location for day trips to Avignon, Usez and the wineries of Chateauneuf du Pape. You also have the opportunity to be entertained with Irish jigs from Woody (the dog).

Beautiful property with a wonderful staff.
No dining nearby, have to drive a ways to get to restaurants.

I enjoyed the relaxed elegance of the château and the warm hospitality of the hostess. This is my new favorite château in all of France. I hope to return soon!
My favorite part of the stay was probably the lovely breakfast we enjoyed on the patio. I could’ve lingered until lunch enjoying the serenity I found under the shade trees there. Magnificent patios!
I would say this place is best suited for those looking for a restful stay, one offering peace and quiet. The hostess, Emma, was extraordinary. We experienced several delays with our flight and came in much later than expected. Nevertheless she gave us a warm welcome and got us settled quickly. We experienced some of the best hospitality we ever have encountered in France. We highly recommend this beautiful château!
There is nothing to dislike about this property.

Paradise!

Incredible home and hosts. The atmosphere is magical both inside and out. Lovely bath products, and nicely stocked drinks bar and complimentary snacks. Our dog especially had a great time playing with Woody :)
Only that I thought the breakfast to be a little too pricey at 20 euros, given that it did not include any hot options.

Everything about the Chateau de Varenne is exceptional. We felt like we were staying at the home of a dear and generous friend, who wanted us to enjoy ourselves to the fullest without being at all intrusive. Also, do not miss the breakfast, or the grounds, or the pool, or ping pong, or boules, or the resident dog Woody, or taking a tub, etc. Every detail is considered with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.
Truly nothing. (Well, we all wished we stayed longer….)

It was such a wonderful place to stay. Booking online can disappoint or exceed your expectations when you actually arrive, but Chateau de Varenne was definitely one that far exceeded.
Only staying one night, we would have like to stay longer.

so beautiful and the energy is amazing
The staff and service are an 11 out of 10. Best I’ve ever experienced in France.

After staying in an Air Bnb the previous few nights, the Chateau was an incredible experience. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We found everything about our stay very comfortable. The pool was a delightful refuge from the heat. We opted for breakfast both mornings and it was delicious! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond! Everything about the hotel itself exceeded our expectations.
The only thing that my husband and I weren't prepared for was the lack of food options. After driving around wine country all day we didn't really want to drive into Avignon for dinner and there is nothing within walking distance. Since it was the weekend, we also didn't find any nice shops open during our travels to pick up quality picnic items and opted for a grocery store with minimal selection. The second night, the staff helped us out with a pizza restaurant recommendation that luckily delivered! That was really great.

Beautiful building with incredible garden. Magnificient historical athmosphere. Lounge area with chess table and bar proved to be an instant success. Breakfast at the terrace was spot on.

This was truly one of the most amazing experiences we ever had! The chateau is absolutely gorgeous! The owners are very nice and helpful and make you feel as if you are their own guests.
We loved our stay, the breakfast was served in such a beautiful setting and was really good.
I can’t wait to go back and stay there for a longer vacation.

well conceived, nice attention to detail for a quick stop - close to some charming villages - air con worked nicely for summer stays - grounds were pretty
wasps over breakfast - noone’s fault -
initial welcome was a little business-like
4.5
General ambiance of the chateau. Breakfast superb, taken on the terrace - stuff of dreams. The owners really know how to give first class service, being discrete but always on hand.
Cheeky house labradoodle took a fancy to our spaniel and needed a degree of 'intervention' :) Didn't spoil however, the most wonderful stay.
4.5
The look and feel of the room and chateau. The gardens were amazing. Breakfast in the garden was so nice. Parking was on the premise and gated off. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. I would for sure go here again with my wife and the kids
The room did not have a shower and the parking was too far from the house with carrying bags up. Also there is no escalator so you need to carry your bags up several flights of stairs. The no shower thing is the main issue, I can't fit in a battub

We had a wonderful stay here. The chateau and grounds are even more stunning in real life! The breakfast was delicious and the setting on the terrace is dreamlike. The staff and hosts were lovely and very helpful. This part of Provence is beautiful and of course perfect for enjoying incredible wine (Chateauneuf du Pape is 15 minutes down the road). Chateau de Varenne is a very special place!
Everything was perfect!

Very relaxing pool and a nice location in very quiet neighbourhood with beautiful views.

Beautifully updated property with stunning furnishings centrally located within easy driving distance of many beautiful French towns. The château’s ambience exudes luxury and relaxation with the added bonus of gracious hosts. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable with an en-suite roomy bathroom, large soft towels and lush bath products to make you feel pampered.
