The food in the restaurant was very good.
I booked a "superior" room as I had done last year and it was lovely. However, the room my husband and I got was inferior. Worse than a standard room (as my friends had one last year so I know). I complained but was told "every room is different". Huh.
The visit I made last year was peppered with annoyances eg my car was towed away from a parking place around the corner from the hotel where I was actually advised to park!). Also we were attending a party and so got back very late but was not given a code (or indeed told we had to have one) so had to shout ourselves back into the hotel, with a guest having to let us in, in the end! I decided to forgive these irritations though as I liked the hotel despite them and wanted to show my husband a traditional French hotel for our wedding anniversary. I was very disappointed with the room (it really was awful: a sort of triangle of a shape so you struggled to get past the bed if on the wrong side, awful shower and ugly decor). Also, last year we were given a lovely cappuccino with our breakfast but when I asked for one this year I was told a very firm "no"! Also, when my husband was asked whether he wanted tea or coffee and he replied "coffee please", the waitress said "yes, it's over there". Actually that was pretty funny and I've gone on too much, sorry. But you did ask!

The breakfast was lovely, the location perfect and the ambiance good. We ate a meal at the attached restaurant one evening and it was superb. Room was very comfortable but make sure you book a superior room, if you can.
On arrival we were advised to park around the corner and not in the square. Our car was subsequently towed away by the police and I had to pay a 140 euro fine to retrieve it. I asked whether the hotel would pay the fine (as it was their fault as they had told us to park there) but was told there was a notice where I parked saying not to park there! I mean....? We're clearly English and that wasn't helpful at all, to put it mildly. Another complaint is that we were not told that we needed a code to get in if we were late arriving at night. We didn't think to ask either so were locked out one night. Had to get another resident to let us in! Les francais, eh? (Eye roll)

Beautiful hotel with excellent food. Lovely modern comfortable room
The staff didn’t engage with you, didn’t even smile of make any attempt to even look like they were happy to be there. Such a shame
I actually felt uncomfortable even asking for a drink

The bed was comfortable
The entrance to the shower over the bath in room 7 was difficult to get into
