The staff went above and beyond for us and made our anniversary very special. They not only upgraded our room they also set up a special table for our dinner reservation.

This is a beautiful historic building in the middle of a lovely town. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was good and breakfast was fine too. Private parking is about 100m from hotel and useful. All good value for mmoney.
The hotel is in a pedestrian zone so you cannot get the car near to the entrance to unload.
4.3
Breakfast was just right; there was a simple variety for each person to choose from…
..in a good location…
- No tea kettle or coffee maker..
- no english channels on TV.

This is a wonderful hotel in a charming town. The room was very good and the breakfast buffet exemplary.
At dinner the waiter was surly, but I suppose everyone can have a bad day!

Great location. Our rooms were very clean & nice. We particularly loved the ambiance of the hotel restaurant & our dinner was above expectations—fabulous! Breakfast was good. One of the best things about the hotel was the staff. They were so friendly & accommodating. Wonderful experience.
4.3
Perfect location, nice big room, wonderful restaurant.
Breakfast outstanding with very good bread.
Staff great!
Was a bit difficult to find it, I probably did not read the way to get there: I wanted to unload the car in front of the hotel, but that was not possible.

The room was great. Hotel had lots of history and staff was alway helpful and always cheerful

This place on the Mosel River is what you would imagine a German hotel in one of the villages would look like. It had old rafters that went up to the roof. Entry to the hotel was through the restaurant into a courtyard. The building was started around 1650 generally. Since we were there for Christmas market, everything was decorated brilliantly. The welcome was efficient and the property was spotless and well run. Breakfast was excellent. It was a German breakfast with meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit, jams and breads. But there was the addition of scrambled eggs and bacon. We loved this as we missed bacon and eggs. We love Mosel wine, so that was a plus. Overall, a great place to stay.
Because this is an old village, parking is at a minimum and this hotel required that we use paid parking. But they do offer a 3-day parking pass for $12 US. That is a bargain in order to stay in the atmospheric location.

Within the historic town of Bernkastel, a charming, clean and well organized hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant. Staff doing everything to ensure a wonderful stay.

Superbly atmospheric historic hotel - with excellent well appointed rooms of a good size.
The restaurant which served superb well priced food was marvellously traditional and service throughout the hotel
impeccable. Bernkastel itself is a beautiful little town and an excellent base to explore the Mosel Valley in general
Slightly disappointing breakfast. Only hot options were scrambled egg and bacon, the latter seemingly not replenished
if you took breakfast a little later.

Friendly, helpful staff. The meal in the evening was great, with excellent advice from their team on wine choices and a lovely setting.
A kettle in the room would have been good, so we could make tea.

The hotel is in an historic building with exposed beams and lots of charm. It is very convenient to the shops and restaurants of Bernkastel. Our room was very comfortable, although there is no central air conditioning. Breakfast was wonderful, served buffet style, with hot and cold selections and fresh bread and pastries. The hotel also serves dinner and we enjoyed a lovely meal on the outside patio.
The town has an automobile-free area, so the hotel cannot offer on-site parking. The pay car park was just a short distance away, but required climbing a flight of stairs, or the inclined roadway with our luggage. We were only staying one night, so we just left our large suitcases in our car and took a light carryon bag to the hotel. The only other item I personally missed was a face cloth in the bathroom, but I experienced this in other European hotels, so it must not be customary to provide.
4.3
characterful and we’ll located in the centre of Bernkastel
no parking (but we were aware of this before the stay). we were able to park overnight in the riverside public car park for only 1 Euro.

friendly staff, great rooms in a historic building, and the restaurant is very good as well. highly recommend.
No AC. However, there was a fan and the temperature was very comfortable.
4.3
The hotel is very romantic and historical at once. All employees and the owner were smiling all the time and gave us precious advice (hiking, restaurants, wine-shops). We felt here very well. Our room was on the 5th floor and we had a very nice view to the wine-yards from our window. I can imagine that rooms on lower floors don´t have such a nice view, therefore, I highly recommend you to request a room on the top floor.-).
As in most hotels, doors and walls are here quite thin. We could hear quite a lot of noise in the morning from the corridor (but it was nothing terrible).
4.3
An older property in the heart of the pedestrian district. Comfortable, well appointed rooms, elevator was appreciated. Breakfast (and restaurant) very good. No parking or vehicle access. Very quiet.
No parking (Park in the pay lot next to the ferris wheel and boat landing), a short walk to the hotel.
4.3
Charming and authentic establishment in a good location. Friendly staff. Parking is off site by the river. Minimal walk.
4.3
We loved the charm of the place and its location, and the cheerful helpfulness of the staff. Good water pressure in the shower.
We could have used a minifridge in the room. Would have been nice with parking next to the hotel, though public parking was available close enough.
4.3
Very warm staff and service. Great comfort.
Nothing.

A beautiful old hotel in the centre of Bernkastel. Parking was by the side of the river and a short walk away. We paid a reduced rate for parking arranged by the hotel. Our room was a good size, modern, comfy and clean. Breakfast was great, nicely laid out with lots to choose from. We also ate at the hotel both evenings we stayed as the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.
