Breakfast OK. One nice gentleman on morning reception. View from balcony nice.
Where do I begin! Apart for one very nice gentleman in the mornings most of time no-one on reception.
On arrival was just given key and told it was on 2nd floor. I said don't you need our documents? I spoke in Italian, my husband is Italian and spoke in Italian but think she wasn't Italian. No other details given about breakfast etc. Not a warm welcome.
We were not expecting luxury but found the description given on your website at odds with what we found. In Britain it would be a matter for the trade descriptions. The Hotel was
run down. The furnishings outdated but that wasn't the problem we could cope with that. It was very hot and air conditioning did not work , the t.v. had only a couple of channels which kept fading out. There was nothing in the mini bar and nothing in the bar downstairs. The balcony had fag ends and ash from the start to the end of our visit and the dirty metal furniture could not be used. The advertised pizzeria/ restaurant was non existent! This presented a problem as the location was quite isolated and too far and dangerous to walk to where any bars or eating places were. Unfortunately, the only place to eat nearby at the hotel mamiano was closed Tuesday evening.
We knew that Urbino was traffic restricted and so saw they offered a bus service on hotel website. There was a stop outside hotel but unfortunately without a ticket you couldn't get on it. When I asked in the hotel they were very unhelpful. I asked the next bus driver and he said it was too far to walk to get to an outlet selling tickets and I'd have to download an app and pre pay. Back to the hotel but with their dodgy intermittent WiFi it took ages to download etc
The only consolation was the bed sheets, towels and bathroom were clean otherwise we wouldn't have stayed.
Urbino was lovely but for the very first time felt very let down and disappointed with a Booking .com accommodation.

We got an upgrade, we booked a triple room + a separated room for my daughter, but in the end, we got a big room for four, which was nice. In the end, we forgot my daughter’s bag and they promptly notified me to pick it up. Awesome!
The fridge did not work, luckily we had another room, which we only used the fridge 🙂
