Simple but nice hotel in a pretty quiet village, nice breakfast and comfy beds.
As for the check-in we didn't mind that it's only from 4pm but for the checkout at 10:30am we diden't like it since it is too early.

Great nights sleep, good breakfast. They stayed up and made arrangements for a late check-in due to unexpected traffic conditions and helped me out that way, great service.

The room was really big, even though I was alone. The bathroom was clean and the shower was really nice - best shower I had during my time in Europe. I also had a balcony with automatic curtains. The price was very good and so was the location.

We like it as it is. Love the breakfast and the personal are very professional.

Location was great at the gateway to the Black Forest! Location was great as I had a walk in the next town over the next day. Arrival was ok as there were cars in the front and the parking at the rear left me with the most difficult option (orientation of the vehicles made parking a 25-point turning workout). I do not blame this on the establishment, just human nature as everyone who had already parked did not fill in from the rear-most slot first, but it all worked out. Just be cautious that you may get my same slot if you check in past 1700 hours.
The room looked as if it had recently been refurbished with new fixtures. Bed and tv were adequate and the patio was nice to have. Were it warmer in the evening, I would have made greater use sitting out there. Bathroom was modern and large enough to turn around in and use. Facility-provided toiletries was a small packet of shampoo and a small bar of soap. No real issues as I brought my own. The room was clean with fresh linen - all together a real nice room.
Where the best gem lies is in the breakfast area. The breakfast was great! The buffet was from 0730-0930 hrs. Breads, meats, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, tea, orange and apple juices, and over 15 different types of coffees you select from the industrial-sized Nespresso machine - lattes, expressos, standard coffee, etc. Spend a minute and look at the pictures of the types of coffees you can choose from. There are different sized cups, and you should pick the best one to use so as to prevent spillage during the dispersion process. I would hesitate to let kids use the coffee brewing machine without supervision. Don't forget to take your extra fork with you as you make your pass through the breakfast buffet - you will need it to load up your plate. A real nice value to be sure!!
The hotel's structure seems a little older as many of the buildings in Germany/Europe are and it is apparent as one walks around the room. There is (I was on the second floor) some creaking as you make your way from the tv to the bathroom, but it is not enough to dissuade me from staying there again.

The hotel is located in a small and quiet town. Staff at reception were very friendly and check-in was quick and easy. We were offered a free bus and rail pass to be used in the Black Forest region for the duration of our stay. We used it twice to take a bus to the next town which was a lot bigger with shops and many restaurants.
The hotel is a bit old-fashioned but has been kept in good shape. The bathroom was clean and had all modern comforts. The beds (incl mattresses and pillows) were excellent.
Breakfast was served in the dining room, extensive choice, too much to try in just 3 days, many fresh regional products available, good coffee and tea facilities.
The room was at the back, away from the main street and had a balcony, but the nearby church was ringing it's bells starting at 6AM which was a nuisance.
The hotel restaurant was closed for dining due to COVID but this was not announced on the hotel website, we only found out on arrival. There wasn't much going on in town so we were (almost) forced to go to the next town for dinner

Every thing I eat gluten free food and I found at breakfast had plenty of choices for me, the room was very clean and best of all it is family run hotel
It is in a lovely village
It would have been nice to have air conditioning but it was possible to close the shutters and leave the window open with a full width net curtain to keep the bugs at bay
