The views were the highlight of our stay. The home is large with so many areas to sit and relax. The kitchen had excellent appliances and we were able to feel comfortable cooking. I did feel that we were staying in someone’s home who is returning soon as there was a lot of personal “stuff”. We would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay. Owner communication was easy, timely and accommodating. Location is lovely. Views of Catalinas and city. Convenient to shopping, restaurants and hiking. House was clean, nice amenities and full of interest and space. Great family retreat.

This house was perfect for our recent stay. The custom house is filled with unique furniture and antiques. The house has anything you need for cooking in a spacious kitchen with top end appliances.
What sold us on this property was the absolutely amazing views.
Perched atop a high hill, this house has a breathtaking panorama of the city below. The sprawling city landscape stretches as far as the eye can see below, with saguaro cacti dotting the horizon, and around the property. There is nothing like enjoying the spa in the evening with the lights of the city below.
The house is very relaxing and above the bustle of the city below and private. Owls and doves are heard at night, and it’s very quiet.
The owner is super easy to work with and showed kindness for a few requests we made. Easy check in and check out process, loved that also.
If you want a unique vacation close to many hiking places with plenty of room for a family or similar get-togethers, look no further!

We had a fantastic month at this wonderful home. It had everything we needed and very well stocked- spices, shampoo, soap, dish soap TP, paper towels. The list goes on and on. But most important was the extremely timely response of the owner. A text and she responded sometimes within minutes. My only small complaint was the TV access. We are older and not very adept at digital. Every room in the house had a flat screen TV with a Fire Stick. We have cable so no access to streaming so we had to sign up for a streaming service to watch live tv. It would have been nice to have that included. I highly recommend this house. It was wonderful for the month

Our family stayed at this property during Spring Break. We had a great time. The owner was very attentive and helpful. We most certainly would stay there again in the future. We would highly recommend this property if you are visiting Tucson.

We had a great experience staying here. We had two families and my mom with us. There was more than enough spots to spread out and not feel on top of each other. Several secluded decks with great views from outside. Host was very friendly and helpful when we had an issue with hot tub turning off. She was also VERY accommodating when we wanted the times the tub was on switched. The kitchen had everything we needed and Host was only a text away if I couldn’t find something. There was a huge dining room table that we all could eat at as a family. My only “negative” would be there wasn’t a good place to sit inside and see the views. It was pretty chilly the days we were there. It would have been nice to curl up with a cup of coffee and see the views. And What AMAZING views they are!!! I would definitely stay here again. The gated community and cleanliness were wonderful amenities. My kids want me to add that they have fun toys too. I felt like I was a celebrity with how amazing this place was!

My family of 8 adults stayed for the holidays. Caryl is an excellent host. She was always quick to respond to my questions. Her suggestion of having the hot tub heated at specific times two times per day was excellent, took away any logistical problems of remote start. The property was at a great location for the hiking activities of my family The steepness of the driveway was pretty intimidating the first go, but pro tip is to go in reverse and use backup camera. There are a lot of stairs in the house and the steepness of the driveway may make this property a challenge for some seniors or those with mobility issues. We had a lovely vacation.

Love this house! I would rent this home again. It sets on a hill and has beautiful sunset views. It is in a gated community in north east Tucson. Clean and roomy enough for our family. The kitchen is amazing. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings upscale and lovely. Even a few Christmas decorations for the season! The owner is very kind and easy to work with. A couple of things to note: The driveway is steep—but we are used to that. We didn’t seem to get how to adjust the heating for us—but didn’t ask-we just managed! The pool can be heated for an additional price. There is a solar powered camera at the pool and I didn’t understand that—unless someone is watching the guests and/or children? Idk 🤷🏼♀️ Overall a nice get away for us.

Great property with spectacular views. Nice kitchen for our thanksgiving holiday trip. Only concern was entry into the gated complex upon arrival at 3pm since one-time code did not work.

The property was truly amazing. The kitchen had professional grade appliances not to mention the awesome views. There was plenty of room for our family to gather and sneak off to for privacy. The property has several private patios all with amazing views. We will be back next year !

Review of 8 Friends in July
Overall, it was good, however, there were some concerns:
(1) There were no "essentials". One couple went out and had to buy toiler paper, kleenex and large garbage bags beccause there were none available
(2) There was only one gate FOB and we had four cars. When you entered the "code" , it never rarely worked.
(3) One of the reasons we rented the home was it had a hot tub. We played a lot of golf and wished we had a HOT hot tub all the time. Though the owner was helpful it turning it on, we wish there was an easier control to turn it on.
(4) Towel rack in downstairs bathroom (room with double bed and twin bed) was broken.
(5) There were only two kitchen towels (we had 8 people and lots of chefs !). Also, no wine glasses. There was crystal in curio cabinets that we choose not to use. Trip to Dollar Store could fix this for less than $10.00.
(6) Bedroom upstairs (smaller one) had no soap in soap dispenser.
Really don't want to complain, but the home is on the high price range and guests really shouldn't have to go to the store to buy toilet paper ! Hope these suggestions help you. Thanks.

Spacious home with gorgeous views
We stayed here for a girls weekend over Memorial Day weekend. The house is enormous with plenty of space for everyone! The patios were spacious and well furnished with amazing views—we spent a lot of time outside. We had trouble with 2 of the showers, but we made do just fine with the other 2. Everything was well stocked and the beds were super comfortable! The only thing I would let people know is that the driveway is VERY steep! When we arrived the sun was directly in our eyes and I had to use the front camera in my car to be able to see down it! You get used to it, but it’s a little unnerving at first! Overall a lovely property!!

Spectacular Oasis
Loved everything about this property and location! The home's design, windows, and decks provide spectacular views of the city and mountains from every room. There are sweet, comfy nooks inside and out for reading, chatting, napping. The house is full of light. The kitchen and appliances are to die for. My husband and I are already thinking to return to this abode! Enjoy!

Baseball Getaway
We flew into town to watch our son/nephew play baseball for spring training. This was a great place to land in between games. Caryl was easy to get a hold of with any questions and the place was filled with great amenities that were useful. The hot tub was an attraction for us when booking, but turned out to be an issue when trying to use it. It wasn’t hot when we wanted to use it and took a lot of negotiating to get it turned on for the times we would be there. Then when we requested specific hours to use it, the hours requested were cut short waiting for it to heat up for 2 hours and it started cooling down an hour before the time we requested. Other than the hot tub issue, we have no complaints - the view was AMAZING!

Fantastic View of City Lights at Night
We had a lovely time at this home. However it is not for everyone.
Pros: Great view, hot tub, plenty of space for everyone, lovely cooks kitchen
Cons: Driveway is very steep and has a blind exit, lots of stairs
We enjoyed cooking and sitting around the large dining table. It has a very interesting decoration collection.

The 4-bedroom home is spacious and has amazing views of the valley. Check in was easy and the host was very responsive to all of our needs.
The house was quirky but had plenty of hangout spaces for our 8-person group.

Winchester Mystery house of Tucson
This property was by far the most eclectic and interesting property I've ever stayed in. It takes at least a day just to learn your way around the property which was kind of fun. We are a fun-loving adaptable family so we may the best of it all. Just a note, we just happen to be there during the worst monsoon in 10 years. It was still very beautiful and enough breaks in the wonderful warm rain to enjoy the pool area and multiple patios and balconies around the property. Issues with the hot tub need to be addressed.
Very nice host with great communication and patience 😊

We stayed for 9 days - had a great time. It’s a big house, plenty of space to sit and relax indoors or out. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, used both each day. The balconies and outdoor seating is really nice - reading, relaxing and just watching the sunsets, we enjoyed them all!We did have some issues. The house was clean, but really needs a deep cleaning (I used to clean houses like this, I’m probably pickier than most and I notice things). There was no dish rag or sponge at all in the kitchen, no broom, no mop, nothing to clean up with! We both had issues with hot water (kitchen, master, lower level) - it sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. The a/c works too well - we turned it off at one point because it was too cold in the house, but figured it out quickly. And we gave up trying to figure out the TVs, and just hooked up a laptop to the tv to watch.Lastly, in a 4 bath house, we ran out of TP (did I mention there were only 2 of us)! Although the owner brought some by a few days later, it was annoying!Overall we enjoyed our stay. This is a great house for families or groups because of the layout and amount of space for separate activities.

The most amazing VRBO I've ever stayed at!
After numerous trips to Tucson we were finally able to book a stay at Tucson Hilltop Estate. The pictures and description did not do this well kept, clean, spacious, and very private home justice. The street is gated: privacy, solitude and security are guaranteed. We had friends and family stay with us for a wedding in Tucson. The layout of the home is such that everyone felt as if they were in their own private rental on multiple floors. The massive open floor plan on the main floor was great for large group gatherings. The kitchen was large, clean and boasted professional appliances all in perfect working order. The highlight for us was the hot tub, patio and crystal clear infinity pool with commanding views of Tucson day and night. There's a great grocery store (Basha's) just minutes away as is the very close access to Sabino Canyon and world class golf. Check-in was a breeze and the owner Caryl was very pleasant to work with. Can't wait to stay again!

What this place has going for it are great views, lots of space, and peace and quiet. If you have a large family and/or kids, there are plenty of rooms and 3 levels of living areas to space everyone out. You won’t hear a peep from the neighbors and great if you just want to find a nook and soak up the views. There are games and a small pool table in the lower level that we didn’t use, but fun for kids or playful adults who do. As other reviews have stated, the house is an eclectic mix of furniture and art, not a modern, open floor plan. It seems more like someone’s lived-in home rather than a place set up for a regular vacation rental. Some love that quality about it, others don’t. We found a piece of leftover clothing and a used bar of soap in the master bath where we were going to store our toiletries, and had a problem with the grill not heating past 250 for a roasting chicken, so switched to the oven in the kitchen to finish the cooking. Also had some troubles with the kitchen fridge cooling, so we used a 2nd fridge on the lower level instead; and WiFi needing a reset, but the owner was quick to respond, friendly, and apologetic. Depending on your tastes and preferences, these may be just minor inconveniences as you decide on a vacation rental.

Great Views and good size house!
We enjoyed staying here a lot enjoyed the house size and the views are incredible. My only complaint is the pool heating temp and schedule. No way was the pool heated to 80 degrees that you pay extra for, and it would be nice if the spa was heated longer at night. But overall it was a fun stay!

Bad condition - Excellent views
Great location & views - dangerous property needs TLC. Since she kept our entire damage deposit to fix an oven hinge we didn’t break, I’ve nothing to lose by writing an honest review. We vrbo often. We picked this vrbo for the pool & location. THE GOOD: roomy, comfy beds, nice pool & pool area, great city & mtn views, safe/quiet neighborhood, 2 turf pet areas, clean linens. THE BAD: Hazardous! Algae & black mold in pool, pool area fencing not to code (toddler & teen easily slipped btwn pool gate’s vertical rails), no underwater pool light (required by law), landscaping deliberately uses broken glass & pottery shards, hot oven door fell off on us upon first use, we killed several indoor cockroaches, broken furniture & cabinet glass, sliders don’t lock, security bulbs burnt out, kids' BR door locks but there's no key. If you worry about COVID-19, the house isn’t disinfected btwn stays (checkout: 10AM, checkin 3PM, cleaners don’t have time to mop floors let alone clean the entire 4200+ sq ft home). Generally really poor upkeep. Upon our arrival, dirty floors & filthy stair runners, piles of rodent poop in garage, tired couches/chairs, broken/greasy kitchen cabinets/cookware/dishes, dirty/cold pool we were promised would be heated upon arrival, “hot tub” is a kiddy pool w/o jets & shares pool H2O. When you pay for pool heat, the owner states she’ll heat the pool or kiddy pool, not both, & the heat’s on only in the am, then pool gets chilly. We vacuumed/swept pool daily by hand as the automated equipment was ineffective. Rooms have LOTS of personal items (clothes, collectables, knickknacks, vases, shells, etc.). Steep driveway (we had no issue navigating but it will scare the majority). Use the VRBO damage deposit option or the issues in the house prior to your arrival will be blamed on you if you ID them. There’s no way to go through the house to verify condition upon check in - there’s too much stuff, it’s too big to check quickly, & too much already damaged to note. We left this place in better condition than we found it. Owner seemed nice enough, but upon our reporting issues, became uncool, then unfair, then unresponsive. We reported existing issues that may seriously injure her next renters & were blamed for causing the issues. She's lucky we weren't hurt. Maintaining this big home is clearly overwhelming her, or she's flat ignoring current poor conditions. Go elsewhere unless you MUST have a pool - bring your own pool technician, medic, & mop.

Had a very nice stay and the property was great
Everything was as described and the property owner was very attentive and quick to respond. The master bedroom shower was a bit different, but just spend about 30 seconds with it and you're all good. Jacuzzi and pool were great. It was a nice and relaxing weekend for our family and a few of my kids' friends, with plenty to do and plenty of room for all.

I will stay here again!!
We had a wonderful stay. The owner, Caryl, was great to work with and has an awesome house, in a gated community, with second to none views of the city. Tons of room and rooms. Pool/spa was sweet. Will stay there again.
