Prachtige omgeving, top locatie voor de start vd Caminito del Rey, geweldige receptionist
Kamer heerlijk rustig
10.0
The hotel as other describe it - is 'rustic' - which translates to a bit dated. but the atmosphere is homey welcoming and warm, and the location is breath-taking in its beauty. When we arrived the gentleman who received us not only checked us in but also provide the full complement of information relevant to those coming to visit the Caminito Del Rey. It's true the mattress did seem a bit dated and perhaps the showers remnants from the 20th century but it is an out-of-the-way small hotel catering to hikers - i do not think that such amenities are top of mind for people wanting to hike in the area. the restaurant in the hotel was so forthcoming - with one of us being a vegetarian they went out of their way to accommodate special requests. I strongly and resoundingly recommend this hotel.

Location is perfect. Even though the restaurant wasn't open the fact you can walk to the Kiosk restaurant bar made for a great evening. Really quiet at night.
Would have liked to have known in advance that the restaurant isn't open on Sunday evenings

Great location to visit Caminito del Rey. It is just 25 minutes by walking to the main reception center. The area is really lovely. There is also parking next to the hotel.

Good location for hiking the Caminito Del Rey. Our room had beautiful views from both sides. Room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We decided to have our dinner at the hotel after the hike and it was fantastic. We absolutely loved their zucchini soup!
We were given an old fashion key to our room. We had a hard time opening the door because our key didn't work properly or was it the door knob...not sure. Our breakfast was standard but the service was incredibly slow. There should be more than one server for a room of 14 or so. Most people like ourselves would like to eat early and start our day since we have limited amount of travel time. To no fault of the server because she was the same server we had last night. She was awesome. Management needs to improve on this part.

Comfortable bed and the staff were incredibly friendly.
Hotel is far from anything, in summer I suspect this isn't a problem but in Winter - when there is only one restaurant within 30min it is not ideal. Also I had an unpleasant experience on my final night when there were no staff at the hotel and the key-code front door wouldn't open, so I was stuck outside for a fair amount of time. It's just not something I felt like dealing with on my last night, in the middle of 'nowhere'.

great location, clean, helpful staff
no coffee/tea facilities in the room (electric kettle). bed and pillows were uncomfortable

Excellent location if you are hiking Caminito del Rey, it's a 5-10min walk to the start of both trails (the tunnels). Plus you can park at the hotel, wasn't needed for us as it wasn't busy in February. The gentleman at checkin was incredibly helpful, showing us the maps of where we needed go and giving tips on when and how to arrive.
The hotel itself is charming, lots of gathering spaces, rooms were spacious. Recommended for hikers! And, yes, the hike is worth it!

If you are planning to hike the Caminito del Rey (or any of the other hikes or climbs in the area), the Posada is the perfect place to stay -- a spectacular setting, friendly staff, a cozy bar and great restaurant with delicious, hearty country food -- and near the El Kiosko restaurant and the north access of the Caminito.

The location was perfect. We only had one night and it was in the middle of everything. The restaurant was amazing. Fantastic menu, everything we’d expect from a rural authentic Andalucian restaurant. The cuts of meat were amazing and the service was great. Reception staff were great. They helped us with tickets to the Caminito del Rey.
The mattress was terrible! We did not sleep well at all! I felt the springs in the mattress all night. it was that old. The room was like it had not been touched since the 80’s. I can understand a rural authentic look but it was just aged. The throw was stained, the curtains old and the bathroom was not clean. When we arrived there were hairs everywhere. I’m sorry to say this as the outside looks great, and the restaurant was so good. But the room was not worth the money we paid.

The room was very good. I really appreciated the bath and the fact that one could make the room completely dark at night. Breakfast was simple, but the best thing about this place was that it is situated within walking distance from the Caminito del Rey. The personnel is very friendly and acommodating.
Some areas of the place could do with a little renovation.

Should have stayed longer, one day is not enough.

The situation for access to the Caminito de Rey was excellent.. reception very good especially Gregorio who went to great lengths to tell us about the access to the walk. We listened and his advice to take the longer path was very good. We did just that and the walk was just as he told us. He is an asset to the business.
My room was very dark. Curtains didnt cover sides of windows and while in bathroom if door wasnt closed anyone can look in from outside if passing to car park. I ended up trapping the curtains in the outsides of windows for privacy.
1st morning there wasn't enough tables for breakfast and as we had a trip booked we were there for breakfast around 08.15 and we asked to sit in the evening dining area next to breakfast room. The man serving was not happy about this. After our arrival a family turned up for breakfast but he happy for them to be in dining room. The service wasn't great he was on his own. That evening we had drinks in the bar. The barman might want to smile at clients or they will go somehere else to drink. The following night he was happy. Being in the public eye means you smile regardless of what's going on. For the reasons we gave above for our breakfast experience we decided to not eat at the restaurant and went elsewhere..
