Fantastic location with welcoming staff and superb food

I am absolutely delighted that at the last minute on a bank holiday weekend I was able to book a room for a childhood friend I haven't seen for 35 years! Barry and Sue are so welcoming and accommodating, and we are both so grateful!
No issues at all! ☺

Nothing to dislike

Beautiful location, staff were friendly.
Would have loved an extra sausage

Fantastic setting, obviously an old building with older accomodation but spotlessly clean and the best nights sleep for a long time. Food was really good, lots of it and no silly prices. Local brewery Ale on draught and a large selection of spirits. Hosts were helpful and friendly, how it should be.. wanting to do it not having to. Plenty of parking and infromation on arrival about the local area, walks and landmarks. Will definitely return.
Nothing other than I was only there 1 night, could have stayed all week!

The room was clean and airy. We had dinner which was great, plus the breakfast superb.
The shower was veeery slow, the only negative.

Loved the food, the room was lovely and spacious everything was really clean and facilities were great. Also all the staff were lovely and the service was really great!
The shower could do with a bit more power but that’s the only thing!

Great place, clean, comfortable and cozy. Food was really good. Although a 10min walk to the Abbey, that's actually a good thing, as it's just far enough from the crowds and also half way to the old station house which opens up another part of the village for explorations.
Check out times need to be a little more flexible. A little 30min wiggle room on request would have been nice.
That very minor thing aside, all good!

Staff very attentive, in the evening and Breakfast nothing to much trouble and in a stunning part of the country lucky enough to stay here for business reasons but will be going back for a little holiday in the future.

Nice place to stay right next to the River Wye. Can recommend it.

The staff were so friendly, the bedding was quality and so were the facilties. Quiet room although on the front.
The food was of a very good standard, the home made pies were delicious and the apple crumble and custard to die for.
The pillows were a little soft, but two was too many???
Shower was a little on the slow side with the slope of the bath and standing back slightly.

The breakfast was lovely and the room was well equipped. The bathroom was modern and spotless.
Plenty of parking and within walking distance of the centre and landmarks.

Barry and Sue were absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming hosts. Both the hotel and our room were to notch and immaculate. Handy and ample parking to the side of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and excellent quality. Dinner was a gastronomic delight. Hubby had the fish and chips and I had the Brie and mushroom Wellington. Situated in an absolutely beautiful part of Wales. Highly recommend and thank you. 😊
Absolutely no faults.

Breakfast was delicious and a really nice touch offering yoghurts and grapefruit even though we had none lol, the produce was exceptional and the sausage was one of the best I’ve ever had.
The location was perfect we went up to Cleddon shoots and had a wonderful walk around the forest and trails. The waterfalls is amazing this time of year. And Tintern itself is a lovely area the Abby mill was a really nice pit stop too.
Also the evening food at the Hotel was delicious the Venison and fish and chips were fantastic but the steak was Amazing, also a really nice relaxed atmosphere for drinks sat next to the fire. Overall brilliant stay would definitely come again. Barry and Sue were lovely and Sue is one of the best cooks I’ve ever met.
With the time of year the bridge was under construction to get over to the devils pulpit. Understandable that it needed renovation and this was perfect time of year. However I don’t have anything bad to say so just thought I would drop this here.
