I wish I had known about this place before... I travel often to Ecuador for work, I was thinking to change my routine a bit ..so I decided to stay at this place (great option). The staff was very kind and helpful, the breakfast was very complete and delicious, the hotel is close to everything...this will definitely be my destination the next time I return.

Room was bright, clean and pleasant. Adequate breakfast. Much nicer than many of the hostals in the nearby Mariscal Sucre.
There wasn't much sound proofing, but thankfully the other guests were all quiet.

This hotel was a lovely surprise! Rooms and common areas were SO CUTE, really well appointed, comfortable and clean. Coffee and hot tea always available. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Filling breakfast. Very accommodating with storing bags. Felt very safe and secure. Would have liked to stay longer!
Nothing!

The most helpful staff ever. Alicia was extremely accommodating and always took care of everything directly. She was there like always: day and night. Whatever it was, she tried to fulfill all our wishes. The breakfast was good and it was clean.
From my point of view, the staff had to work far too much. At some point, I could not believe that the same staff is working 5 days in a row day and night. They would even sleep there. Even though, I liked everything else and the staff was amazing and did not even mention anything like that with a word, I just want to mention that I did not like to see the working conditions.

The breakfast and staff were excellent. The first night we stayed in the room we booked which was an interior and small but efficient and comfortable room. The next two nights we decided to upgrade to a larger room. The breakfast was excellent, the hotel was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and provided an excellent restaurant recommendation which were in walking distance of the hotel. The beds were good but a bit firm for our taste.
The WiFi was a bit slow and it was not always easy to download needed information for our trip, particularly in the second room which was on the top floor.

Good location, nice rooms, nice breakfast
Rooms are not very well soundproof, we heard the room next to ours lot.

I stay here regularly when I am in Quito on business, and will continue to do so. It's a unique and beautiful property, and the staff is always kind and accommodating with any odd requests that might come up. Breakfast is great too, and the breakfast room has beautiful artwork.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming! The locations was also nice.
The room was small and very minimalistic, the beds were not very comfortable.

Helpful front desk staff. Supermaket is one block away.
Breakfast could be better. Don't even have milk!

Vieja Cuba is a large colonial house that has been converted into a small hotel in a great location that is very central to various areas of interest for tourists. Eg. Old town, Artisan Market, Parc de Carolina etc. The breakfast was ample with yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, eggs, fruit juice, toast and hot drinks and cold water available throughout the day. The staff are managed by Sylvia a lovely lady who is superb at making every aspect of your stay go smoothly. Thank you Sylvia for everything you did.
Nothing.

The staff are very nice and helpful. There were directions in both Spanish and English. Baggage storage available. They even stored my bag for a couple of days which was amazing. They helped arrange a taxi at a reasonable price. He came with a sign and everything. The building is gorgeous. I wish I was there longer to really have a good look at it. They were also renovating a section of stairs too, so you know they are taking good care of the place. Solid WiFi. She responds very fast to messages. I would like to stay again.
Bed and pillows were not great but I was able to sleep. It was very cold at night even with the windows shut. Nothing worked on the TV (I'm sure they could have fixed this if I asked). I was a little concerned that the lady who seemed to run the place told me to NOT go outside when it's dark out. Not even at 5am. Main Door and gate was a little tricky but after you get used to it... No problem

Its a charming place with lot of character! Great location, close to some of the nicest bara and restaurants in Quito!

The hotel has a very good location and is a very nice building. The parking is OK, the rooms look nice, the wi-fi-works. Otherwise its a missed opportunity.
If you plan to sleep at the place, do not book it. Even though the windows are insulated against the noise from outside, the hotel itself is a very noisy place. You can hear other guests and you hear everything that is happening at the lobby and in the corridors.
The staff is terribly unhelpful and it is also them that cause the noise. One of them was walking around with a music playing from his phone around 10 p.m. and was surprised that we objected. He was probably drunk, because he didnt remember anything in the morining. The first night there was a party that prevented us to sleep till 2 a.m. and the staff instead of making sure the hotel is quiet, participated.
The breakfast was also a never more experience. There is a sign to a breakfast area with an arrow. However, if you go to the desginated room, the staff is very suprised, because they serve breakfast in the lobby, of course, that is in the exact opposite of where the arrow points. During the breakfast there were guest sitting there, quite angry because they didnt sleep and although there is food on the table, they didnt eat. That is because they serve you a pitcher of juice, but do not provide the glasses. They serve cereal, but dont give you a spoon. Always extremely suprised that you want these basic things from them. One of the guests left without eating and dinking anything. It all reminded us of a Hidden Camera scene.
No warm watter in the morning - again the staff does not care and is genuenely suprprised, that you want to shower in the morning. Lukewarm water in the evenings and afternoons. So if you like to take shower before breakfast, you might be able to take it after lunch.
Its an overall missed oportunity. Nice place, nice rooms, a lots of investment. But the staff and the inner noise, that could be curtailed by carpets, window drapes and door insulation make it a no-go.
