Very comfortable

The location of the hotel is very good, right next to the castle. The hotel lobby and rooms are very comfortable and have a sense of history. The dinner restaurant is also very good and the taste is good.

A differant era

The smell , conform , and the taste and the color .. when u enter to the gate you pass in to a different age and the world . If that is the aim of the owner of the Mirande and she / he succeed it . We had a wonderful dinner and even more perfect breakfast . The rooms are so clean and clean and new material but like my grandma home a balanced orientalist and 18 century French style …

An excellent hotel with rich history in the heart of Avignon . Staff is very friendly. They upgraded our rooms to a connecting corner suite and we had a night comfortable stay there. Dinner at the hotel was beautiful and the morning breakfast in the courtyard was really enjoyable.

Facilities are bit dated - they still use keys so was a bit inconvenient

A lovely boutique hotel in the heart of historic Avignon. Tastefully decorated throughout with a great atmosphere. Afternoon teas in the lounge and the two restaurants were exceptionally good.

Everything was just perfect!

The location of the hotel is just the best! The hotel is located in a historical building just next to the Palace des Papes. La Mirande is small and very cozy hotel with beautiful interiors and atmosphere. The room was comfortable with everything you need and even more. Breakfast was delicious and varied.

The funny thing: I asked to bring the iron board and it was almost the same age as the hotel)). But still, in spite of its limping it was helpful ;).

Great location, helpful staff and pretty room

Very central location and great, historic atmosphere of hotel. Nice breakfast in outdoor patio

The service in gastronomic restaurant was rather slow towards the end, making it a very long drawn out dinner (long wait between the different courses towards the end, which was rather an unfortunate way to end what would otherwise have been an excellent dinner)

Unmerited reputation

Not easy to access by car, neither to park. The room was old style but ok and clean, however electric equipment were poor. I was really disappointed by the breakfast that doesn't worth the price charged. All in all, the Hotel La Mirande does not match with expectations. Reputation is over estimated;

Access and breakfast that are quite disappointing for hotel with such rating and reputation. I recommend to access by taxi but not with own car and I recommend to not book breakfast and rather go outside in one of the surrounding cafes and bars.

What can we say? This was an incredible city to visit and a superb hotel for our stay. The hotel was built in 1670 as a personal mansion just across the street from the backside of the Papal Palace. Everything about this hotel from the elegant room to the palatial common areas downstairs take you back 500 years, but with modern conveniences. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.
