Wish we could have stay longer.

The family that own the apartments are very friendly and helpful. Apartment is simple but has everything you need. The view and sunset from the balcony is great. A lovely beach is within easy walking distance. Would love to return.

THE PLACE TO BE

We loved our week at Montemar. The owner, Michael, is the perfect host. Professional, kind and manages the property really well, making you feel at home and making sure his guests have everything they need. The communication was smooth from the moment we booked, he helped us find a taxi from and to the airport and waited for us until our flight landed and we arrived at the property to show us around. He even left a bottle of wine for us in the house! I would recommend Montemar because it's the perfect spot in Karpathos if you want to see the real vibe of this place, quiet yet lively at the same time. The balcony gives you a nice view of the sunset. Only 3 minutes from the beach and 2 restaurants/beach bars. The center of Arkasa is 7-10 minutes walk and you can find plenty of bars, restaurants, the bakery, the pharmacy, 2 supermarkets and the bus stop only 5 minute walk. If you don't have a car like us, don't be scared to travel by local buses. The service is good, the ticket prices are fair and you can find the timetable at the property's reception as well. The house is super clean and the bedsheets/towels are changed every other day. We will definitely come back to Montemar our next stay in Karpathos!

Very good

Very nice view of the bay with the Arkassa paleokastro peninsula from the appartment. The soothing sea breeze keeps the apartments nicely ventilated during the night. A short walk from the beach and Arkassa itself.

The bed was a bit short due to the footboard.

a perfect place to visit Karpathos

the manager is very kind, the place is quiet, the room is spacious with a big terrace, the view gives on a very nice garden and on the see. there is a pretty beach at 200 meters and a very good restaurant nearby. The situation is perfect to visit the island. we have regrets to have left the place too early. we will return.

A very relaxing stay in the relatively new luxury apartment

The luxury apartment we had booked is exactly as shown in the photos on booking.com (except the location - see below). Unlike the rest of the building complex, it was last built as a bungalow at the end of the small access road and is therefore completely different from all the other Montemar apartments in terms of furniture and style - modern and fresh. The location is very quiet, it is approx. 250m to the sea (beautiful Agios Nikolaos Beach), approx. 500m to the next supermarket and approx. 750m to Arkasa center. A vehicle is essential to explore the island (what you should definitely do).

The location of the luxury apartment was not as we had imagined from the pictures. The terrace is behind the house so you can only see the sea from a certain position - we didn't like that, because usually we always want a direct sea view and also thought that we would get this here. The photos on booking may have misled us a little. The kitchen equipment in terms of dishes and bowls could be better but Mike and Sofia bring it all over if you ask for it. We didn't need it, but the air conditioning seems to cost extra (see photo). WiFi only works outside on the terrace, so the TV is unusable, which was unfortunately stupid during the EM2021

Exceptional

Wonderful stay in an amazing island. I ‘ve spent 2 weeks in the beautiful cottage -the luxury apartment of Montemar - and I enjoyed every second of my vacation. Relaxing and regenerating . An amazing garden in front of the residence with bougainvilleas and frangipani trees ..an Eden garden ! The beautiful beach of Agios Nicolas is just a few steps away and offers romantic sunset ..I think one of the best of the island. By the way , all the other places to see around karpathos , are easily reachable from here and this makes Montemar a perfect base to explore..and when you go back at your apt , tired by trekking or swimming or sunbathing you will feel really happy to be there . Sipping some wine or ouzo or having a walk and enjoying a good dinner in one of the village’s tavernas. The owners are smart and pleasant and really friendly ..a pleasure talking with them and have good advises!! many thanks to Captain Mihalis and his wife Sofia for everything they did to make me feel so happy to be In karpathos .I ll be back again for sure .

excellent stay for surfers, the best beach is right there. kind owner, balcony, kitchen - all you need is there.
