Disappointing Room

Location Staff were very helpful and friendly

Poor quality, walls and doors were very thin with poor sound proofing.

Pretty and central tourist hotel

Lovely hotel building, nice staff, wonderful location in the heart of Laon.

The room was so cold in January and even with extra bedding a rough night. Not easy to find the WiFi code if there was one. Bed mattress was hard.

For us this is a perfect hotel as a stop off point when we head back towards the tunnel.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in the hotel. We were given a very spacious room on the top floor which was perfect as we were travelling with our 2 dogs. I have always enjoyed staying here as it is very centrally located, the owner is very personable and helpful.

I think they have tried to save money on the bath as it is very flexible so when you are having a shower you worry that the bath might crack. But this is a minor comment.

Overall considering the price and location I’d have to say it was value for money but does require a bit of sprucing up.

Great historical building in the centre of town with a large public car park adjacent to it. Room, bathroom and bed were large and comfortable. Host Jean Michel was friendly and attentive at breakfast. Large bath was a bonus as most hotels only have showers.

Hotel is a little tired and requires a bit of work here and there (as old buildings often do). Perhaps hard word floors over carpet in reception area and lounge and a few pictures on the walls of the bedroom and maybe new flooring with a few rugs just to soften it up a bit. Bath was great for us but if you prefer a shower there was nowhere to attach the shower to the wall and no shower curtain so you would have to hold it whilst sitting in the bath.

Basic but fine for one night.

The location is fabulous -short walk from the cathedral and ramparts and choice of restaurants and bars. The man running the hotel was lovely. Breakfast was good - lovely fresh bread and good coffee. Interesting old building. Price ok for the location.

The bathroom wasn't in the best repair. Paint peeling off the walls. The pillows were really flat- we both put our towels underneath to try give a bit more volume.

Intimate hotel in the heart of Laon which provided a high standard of service throughout.

Wonderful location - great breakfast - friendly host who went out of his way to offer advice and suggestions to make the most of our stay.

The hotel was lovely. Great location in a great town. Mathieu the host was very friendly and helpful. A very characterful property. Breakfast was very nice and traditionally French. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Laon!

Great place for a stopover to or from the Channel ports.

Great place for a first or last stopover en route for Calais. Good breakfast. All round good value. Plus Laon is a very interesting town with an amazing cathedral. Second time we have stayed here and we would certainly come again.

Charming, a bit quirky, spacious and well located

Charming old building, not a run-of-the-mill hotel. Large room and bathroom, plenty of space. Great location for walking round town. Free parking in nearby square.

No car access to drop off bags (but not too far from the square). Room overlooking the street - noisy drunks in the early hours.

Rustic charm hotel, in the centre of the town with all amenities close by. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Town well worth a visit, magnificent cathedral nearby.

Hotel fine, but many shops and bars closed on Mondays!

Wonderful stay in beautiful city you can see in a day

Fabulous location. Incredibly friendly and welcoming host who kindly arranged breakfast for us early. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

Slightly noisy buzzing sounds whilst trying to sleep, but not really a problem.

The hotel and Laon are both a reason to come back.

Breakfast was excellent and so was the Location. The hotel is quirky but we enjoyed it.

The pillows were my only complaint. They were lumpy .

Great stop off on our way through France.

My husband and I travelled with our adult daughter. We were expecting one room but we were delighted to get a two room suite on the top floor- great value. Breakfast is traditional French which suited us.

A great way to get to know Laon and it's magnificent cathedrale!

The suite (the entire top floor of the building) was just enormous. There is definitely room for a family of four here! There are two toilets and a separate bathroom. The entire hotel (including the room) are intentionally made to look old! But everything was spotless and comfortable. We were actually thrilled to be in an authentic historical building. This isn't Disneyland – it's the real McCoy. But the visitor should be prepared for this and not a crummy, pitiful motel-type room. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of the pedestrian zone -- which is the heart of this resurgent Medieval town. The breakfast is modest (but inexpensive) and it was perfectly adequate for our needs.

Excellent very enjoyable

The location was great . Close to the cathedral, shops, bars and restaurants. There is a public car park very close to the hotel and very convenient. The hotel is in a very old building with lots of beams and original features but has been modernised for modern comfort yet keeping the an original style. The breakfast was very good and very good value at 7 euros. The welcome was wonderful, very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. I really hope to stay here again and can thoroughly recommend it.
