Great location, stay, and staff

The staff made all the difference in taking the stay from good to great. They were friendly, accommodating, professional, and willing to help however necessary. The breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of food and good table service. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Bathroom lighting was dated and the door squeaky. That's about it for complaints.

Good value stay in good location.

Great location, very easy to walk to town so good for cafes & restaurants but away from late night bars so not too noisy to affect sleep. Easy to park outside, comfortable rooms.

Some noise at night from dogs, common in Ecuador.

5* first night, 2* for noisy teenage groups

5* service, amazing staff went above, spa was nice but most facilities were closed? Room was large and comfortable.

The other guess they booked in a group of two dozen students who were up until past midnight banging making noise and generally being a bit Rowdy morning I had a terrible night's sleep the manager offered to change rooms but then I wouldn't have gotten to sleep till midnight anyway then they're chaperone just couldn't get them to calm down. You can't be a quiet spa hotel and book large groups of kids.

Nice hotel in Baños

Nice hotel in Baños within walking distance of many restaurants. Rooms are clean and the spa is a big plus.

Although the spa is very nice the opening hours are limited (only Saturday evenings and during holidays)

Good spa hotel, great location

Very friendly host and other staff members. Great couples massage and very affordable. Good breakfast with fruit, yogurt, eggs and bread and cheese /meats. Good location close to everything we wanted to see and do.

Great couples massage, can book on the spot and very affordable, but the spa is only open on Saturdays currently so that was disappointing. This was not clear on Booking.com.

Charming, but overrated

Nice place, very friendly staff, rather basic (if not budget) rooms. Nice 5 X 5 garden, especially with led lighting in the evening, but exempt of any seats, corners with chairs & table. BTW: great breakfast (included in room price). Also quiet, relaxing, sometimes on your own balcony. Wi-fi is great.

Really too expensive for this charming but somewhat mediocre hotel that pretends to be upmarket. The shower can not be regulated properly, so adjust with care to avoid burns!

Wonderful retreat from busy downtown.

Very nice place with beautiful woodwork and creative artwork. It was cozy and warm with lots of green plants inside and out. My bedroom was perfect for one person with big bathroom, cozy bed, nice balcony. The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast was generous and very good. The location was two blocks from main street and town center.

Very little! I would have to get pretty nit-picky. It took awhile for shower water to get warm.

all in all great and price totally worth it

location is great. Delicious breakfast. the rooms are big and spacious . I absolutely loved the spa area with the hot wooden boxes and the cold pool.

Perfect in every respect -- thank you!

Everything about Isla de Banos is perfect. It combines old world charm with modern efficiency. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

Beautiful stay with kind, helpful staff & delicious breakfast

We liked everything! Nice that it’s on the outskirts of town but still close to everything - walking distance to bars, restaurants, thermal pools, bus station, etc. It’s near the trail to Mirador Bellavista and Cafè del Cielo too if you want to take a nice, rewarding hike. Our room was perfect - clean, cozy, beautiful balcony. I felt I could have stayed much longer than a few nights (we were only supposed to stay two but added a third!). All the staff were very sweet and helpful. They offered suggestions on what to do in and near Baños with a map, and also helped arrange where/how we would go to our next destination. Breakfast was delicious and filling! We had a beer from their fridge selection and sat outside in their garden to do some planning which was nice too. We took a steam box session on the last day and wish we had done it earlier! So relaxing, what a treat. Thank you!

A jem of a hotel..

Great location, quiet but close to town. Super comfortable room with lots of space. Excellent breakfast. The staff are amazing and could not have been more helpful. One of the best places I have stayed in Ecuador!

Overall a wonderful place I'd recommend.

Everything about this place was a wonderful surprise. I didn't know about the 'spa' area until day 2 but if you go, you MUST try the steam sauna. Also perfectly located for a morning hike up the mountain as the starting point is right beside the hotel. Truly adore this place.

I don't have anything to say about this place that I deeply disliked. The whole town has a bit of noise in the mornings, so I don't think you'd get away from that in any hotel.

A short walk from all the restuarants and bars, but in a quiet part of town

It was a 5-minute walk from the center, so you were close to everything, but in a quiet part of town. Sue and Fabian were excellent at helping us with the car parking, spa and massage reservations, and any other questions. We were surprised how fast the Wifi was (over 50Mbps). The breakfasts included fruit, coffee, cheese, bread, and eggs made how you wanted. We were lucky the spa was open on Saturday when we visited; I highly recommend going to enjoy a steam or hop in the jacuzzi.

Jungle and Spa! Exceptional :)

loved the gardens the room was very nice! and the on site spa was exceptional! steam baths, jacuzzi and steam room with eucalyptus! also the staff was 10/10 Fabian and Suzanna made our stay. they went out of there way to make sure we were happy looked after and saw all the sites to see in Banos!
