Exceptional

The room was very clean and spacious. Also the location in Kendwa is perfect, very close to the beach and many restaurants. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. We would definetly come back to Daeli Apartment!

Exceptional

Eliana and Dadi are amazing hosts, very helpful and attentive to your needs; Dadi even took us to the airport at 4.30 a.m. when our driver didn t show up. The room is cleaned every day, the bed is extremely comfortable, wifi works well and even has a safe. The location is great, 5-7 minutes to the beach, near restaurants and a supermarket.Hakuna Matata and hope to see you soon! :)

Great stay, feels like family

Amazing staff. Amazing breakfast. Great location. They really take care of you. We ended up adopting a kitten from the area, and the folks here were super helpful and supportive, including taking us to a pet store. Felt like a second family. :-)

One thing to note is the kitchen is next to two rooms, so you will share a kitchen. Also you have to pay in cash. Not bad things, we just didn't realize these upon arrival.

Very good

Clean, comfortable, beautiful garden, the host was helpful when I needed to contact the airport.

The breakfast was the same every day, we had much better breakfast in a cheaper apartment in Paje Zanzibar.

Good accommodation, not our kind of place.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was good value. The room was fine and the breakfast good. The welcome was friendly. We had a top floor apartment with a sea view.

Most of this is a reflection of Kendwa, not the accommodation itself. We personally found that the resorts here had taken over entirely here and it was no longer suited to independent travellers like ourselves. It was hard to see village life and everyone was trying to get as much money out of you as possible, to the extent that prices were sometimes more than back home! Each resort seemed to play loud music which you could hear in the room (hard to do much about, the apartments are on top of a hill and sound travels!). If you like a bit of culture and not just an amazing beach (which it undoubtedly is), then look at a place called Jambiani, this was much more our kind of place. Other people will love Kendwa, but for us, as well seasoned backpackers, it wasn't our kind of place.

!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET ROBBED !!!

Our rate is very low because we had very DANGEROUS SITUATION - we stayed on the top floor and at night (ca. 3 am) local CRIMINAL started BREAKING IN to our room, thankfully my partner woke up and chased the guy away. But you never know, he could have been armed and hurt us!!! We couldn't sleep until the end of our stay and the reaction from the manager of the place was that the GUARD WAS ASLEEP, seriously? it's his job to keep us safe! What's worse is that from what he told it's not the first time the guard was asleep at work... The situation was not treated seriously at all!!! No apology from anyone!!! If you stay there make sure you closed all the windows and pray that someone will not use force... no words... I think the breakfast could have been better, it was the worst we had in Zanzibar (stayed in 4 places). Curtains and mosquito net could be refreshed as the smell in the room was not pleasant. The place is way overpriced, but probably it's because of Kendwa beach that is nearby.

Best owners

Awesome owners. Don't hesitate to ask if you need something. They fix everything in minutes. In reality, the room has safe. Private territory.

Nice apartment with amazing view from the balcony. Location was great, close to everything but still quiet. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Asante sana.

The room was much too expensive for what it was, Wifi connection very poor. The photos on Booking.com are completely deceiving. Dirty tables at breakfast, too many flies at breakfast. I wouldn’t go back if you paid me.

Great stay!

Great view! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It was nice that breakfast can be served at the time we’d like for different days (they asked us every evening for the next day). The bed and sheets were very comfortable.

We felt the value for the location, amenities, food, and parking here were all worth it! GORGEOUS view of the ocean from the top floor balcony. We had a really lovely time and would definitely come back. If you’re looking for a place to sleep with A/C in Kendwa for a better value than that of a hotel; this is a fantastic place! Nothing broke during our stay; the A/C and wifi worked great, bed was comfortable, and the shower water temp was perfect. Breakfast was also delicious: 10/10!!!! Thank you so much Daeli!!!! :)
