Perfect location for town and Menin gate access

Great location with clean comfortable rooms. A very helpful manager who even moved his can to allow our group to park in his garage for free.

Verouderd hotel met goede ligging in het centrum. Niet erg fijn voor een langer verblijf.

Goede locatie, in het centrum van Ieper. Redelijk ontbijt, maar de koffie is erg slap. De uitcheck is heel vroeg op een zondag, om 10h30.

Dit hotel is erg verouderd en heeft nood aan modernisering. We verbleven in Kamer 1, heel donker, zonder zicht. De vensters gaan niet open. Je hebt een erg opgesloten gevoel. Er is een patio, toegankelijk vanuit alle kamers, maar die zou wat opgefrist mogen worden en vooral moeten de stoelen en tafels proper zijn.Ik had op voorhand gluten-vrij brood gevraagd bij het ontbijt, maar dit kon niet geregeld worden, vermits mijn verzoek te laat was. Vandaar een tip: vries enkele gluten-vrije broodjes in en serveer die wanneer nodig.

First and definitely our last stay at the Alliance Hotel

The only positive for this hotel is its location just off the main square. The breakfast was very limited and just about acceptable. Nothing else positive about this hotel.

The wardrobe in the room had one door held on by only one hinge, the rest of the door was taped to the sides, so could not be opened. There were cracks in one window, covered by Sellotape. The unit the TV stood on had three draws...all nailed closed. The bathroom had one small square of hand soap and two small sachets of shower gel. I could have blown hotter air than hair dryer. The hotel needs new owners, investment and a total refurbishment.

If we make it back to Ypres, which is quite possible, we would definitely staya here again.

Lovely hotel... a former doctor's residence. Great, great location!

We were lucky enough to find parking in front of the hotel. It is free from 6PM to 9AM. We did not mind going back to keep the meter happy because the hotel is close to everything we wanted to see in Ypres, including the ceremony at the Meniin Gate. Free parking is about a 20 minute walk away.

Very disappointing.

The location was excellent.

Parking was very "hit and miss" No free parking outside hotel except from 18.00 till 9.00 following day. We had to move our car a number of times which then entailed walking quite a distance back to hotel. There are disabled signs on the road near the hotel that don't apply any more which weren't made clear by the manager when we tried to find out where parking was allowed. The stairs are very steep and handrails don't quite reach the top which makes navigating them very daunting. Lights on stairs are on a timer which didn't stay on long enough for us to safely reach the top!

Location is good. We were able to walk from the train station and to the Menin Gate

Room was very basic and Wifi was extremely weak. We couldn’t keep any one of our devices connected and we appeared to be the only guests

Expensive for what you get

Location near centre of Ypres is perfect, only 100m from main square.

Very expensive by comparison for quite basic facilities. It was the last one with availability for clear reasons. Room not entirely clean and decoration tired looking. Towels hidden in undersink cupboard and toiletries provided were minimal. Some black mould in bathroom. Breakfast choice again limited, fresh fruit not fresh at all, coffee awful.

Good location near town square

One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Maybe the rooms in the old part are ok, I haven't seen those rooms. But the room I had on the ground level at the back of the hotel was appalling. Not clean, no option to open a window, a smell of decay... The hotel certainly didn't live up to common expectations and the price tag was also too high for the given quality.

Was an ok visit.

The location was good, the breakfast was ok.

The room is very outdated. No air conditioning and you got not draft, room was like a sauna. The breakfast was ok, no hand sanitizer so people could use before touching the utensils at the buffet.

Great location Excellent breakfast choice Friendly and helpful chap on reception

The bed pillow was too large No free parking close by or on-site. I used the parking meter on the street with an app.
