Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is nicely located right at the foot of the escalators up to the city center and just blocks from the bus station at piazza dei partigiani. Although the daytime temperature was in the 90’s, I was comfortable and able to sleep in my non air conditioned room with just a fan thanks to the thick walls of the old building.
The entrance gate was easy to miss. I walked right past it twice. Had to ask some locals for help.

Absolute perfect location, very beautiful rooms, very classical design, super friendly staff, lots of information before arrival.
I understand the hotel is very classic and it does have its charm, but some of the room equipment (fans, widow shutters etc) could really use refurbishment.

old fashioned place that has seen better times, comfortable, clean and friendly helpful staff. The breakfast offered suited us -- coffee and croissant.
can't think of anything

Location is great ~ walking distance to Piazza November - lots of restaurants, shopping, taxi stand and bus bus station. Lovely view. Beautiful outside sitting area. They do speak English and are helpful. Good continental breakfast for 6 euros outside in lovely area.
If you need AC, there are only fans. Even in very hot weather, the room fans were fine. I don’t believe there is an elevator to rooms. So if you have heat luggage or have trouble with stairs beware!

The location of this hotel was fantastic for us. We stayed in a triple room on the first floor. It is very close to the bus station and the airport bus stop (5 euro to airport pay on bus). For us it was a one night stop to see a concert at the Arena Santa Giuliana which was just across the road. So absolutely perfect. It is also close to the escalators that take you up to the historical centre. We thoroughly enjoyed all the free Jazz concerts going on which was an extra bonus.
The room was clean with a little fridge, fan for cooling and a tiny balcony. The bathroom was clean. The staff work very hard and the guys at reception are very friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
They offer a simple breakfast for 3.50 euro. We opted to go out into town as there are a multitude of lovely places to eat.

Very good location close to the historical centre (nice view) but you do not have to drive through tiny streets and you can use the hotel's private parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Well equipped bathroom, comfortable bed.

Old world charm, spacious room, lovely big terrace, fabulous location - just a 3 min walk to the escalators that take you up to the top of the old town. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Lovely simple breakfast. Plus on-site parking.

Although the exterior of this grand building has deteriorated since Wagner stayed here in 1880, the interior has been upgraded. Our room had a very modern bathroom but much of the decorative ceiling artwork was still intact. A great view. Perfect location. Big terrace and Armin, the manager was very helpful and friendly communicating in excellent English.
Nothing to dislike. Although the window shutters and hotel exterior are in need of maintenance, they gave the place a sense of historic character.

Perfect location for visiting Perugia
Real Real basic and old rooms.
Price is rather high for a bed without anything else.

Gorgeous hotel, building full of character! The staff were really lovely and accommodating. It's super close (2min walk) to the escalators that take you up to the beautiful historic centre of Perugia.
Given how old the building is, you could hear everything. But there isn't much to be done about that! Our room was renovated to a great standard.

Location was excellent. The brothers take good care of their patrons.
Considering the value for money one cannot criticize the property.

The hotel itself has the charm of a slowly decaying building located on higher level than the street. Thrre is a terrace in front of it which offers views to the city and the mountains in a distance.
The reception staff was very friendly and helpful and offered advice on what to do/see and where to eat.
The wifi worked perfectly and the modern shower offered hot water at a good pressure.
I slept quite well in the comfy bed.
The room doors weren’t noise-insulated and thus you could always hear people walking by talking.

The terrace is nice, the location is good and there is a private parking inside.
The room felt a little bit like a basement…

Nice location next to the escalators which lead to the historical center.Chek-out was until 10:30am but the host let us leave our car at the parking place of the hotel 3 more hours free of charge.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Perugia by car. The property has parking (but it is limited so make sure you book) and the location is right by the city walls, a very easy walk into the centre. Even if parking isn't an issue for you, it would be a excellent choice. The hotel itself is set in a lovely 17th century building with real charm and character. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and the fact that the ceiling still sported its original fresco was a great bonus! The staff were so helpful as well. Sadly we were just passing through, but I would love to come back one day and spend a bit longer in Perugia, and if I do, I will definitely be booking Hotel Iris again!

Comfortable beds. Tasteful room. Beautiful, historic building. Ideal location.
Unsurprisingly, in a historic building, a few amenities are quite dated: the shutters could have closed better, for instance.

Historic building, comfortable beds, very close to the historic center.
Cladire istorica, paturi confortabile, foarte aproape de centrul istoric.
There should be more emphasis on cleanliness, there was dirt on the floor when we arrived. The pillows were not comfortable. Every morning we were woken up by the noise of the employees moving some metal things, knocking objects or talking very loudly. Nu am primit camera pe care o rezervasem.
