Perfect place for pilgrims!

Perfect for the Camino as it is on it!. Could not fault this accommodation. We used it to start the second half of the Portuguese Coastal route. Highly recommend. We decided to eat nearby at the Taperia Orballo... also recommend. Supermarket also nearby for any supplies.

Personal super y muy servicial. Buen desayuno, excelentes tostadas con jamón y tomate! Recomiendo pasar por el restaurante por la noche, con una gran carta y productos. No les decepcionarán.

Nice decking off the bar to sit out in an evening.

Restaurant was very expensive but lots of other bars and restaurants nearby.

A nice comfortable place to stay

Since the facility is outside of the town, it was nice there is a restaurant attached. The room was adequate and met our needs

The location was not good for us walking the Camino.

Truly Abysmal

I like the terrace during the day and having my own room after staying in hostels

No sleep at all The staff on reception were very confused by my booking and name, i make a big effort to speak Spanish but they made no attempt to explain the facilities or show me where I was staying as they were eating They allowed a large group of very drunk, squealing people to make noise for a lot of te evening and then the same on balconies. I called repetition to ask for help and they told me I was wrong! horrible waste of money and nobody on reception or reachable when I checked out!

Great hotel for a good price!

Nothing better than after a long walk on the Camino de Santiago, to have a private and very comfortable room for yourself. Good internet, excellent bed and shower, just on the Camino for a good price. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and public transport if needed.

Great Stay in Nigrán

El Retiro is located right on the Camino passing through Nigrán. It has clean, comfortable rooms, an excellent restaurant and a nice garden for relaxing or eating Al fresco. We had dinner in the restaurant and my tortilla was one of the best I’ve had in Spain. The hotel is run by a family who all are so helpful and accommodating. There are several shops and restaurants a few blocks away. The beach is a longer walk, but worth it if it’s warm enough to swim. We had a wonderful stay during our Camino.

Nice bathroom. Good value for money. On the Camino. Decent restaurant.

Had to carry my suitcase to the 3rd floor by stairs. Bedding & room decor and furniture looked dated but bath looked new.

Everything the staff were so helpful could not do enough for us,the food was fantastic and the place has a nice garden where you can sit and have a cold beer.Its a great place to stay on the Portuguse coastal camino, The staff were the most helpful and friendly that we met ,stay here if you can.

Nothong only wish we could have stayed another day.

Very good

We had a stop at this hotel during the trip from France to Portugal through north Spain. The hotel is affordable including parking, well located close to the town and beach. The staff is very gentle and helpful. We had a nice dinner at the hotel. High recommended.

Exceptional

El Retiro it is a very nice place to stay. The lady from the check in was very lovely to show us around and very welcoming. The room was very clean and cozy. We had a a balcony which we enjoyed and the toilet with the shower which was great. The price was very good for the value. Also, as we have been travelling with the bicycles they had a place to store it safely. I definitely recommend this place and, If I will have the chance we will definitely stay here again.
