The staff was really helpful and attentive, always had good recommendations for places to see and facilitated taxis when necessary. The room was spacious, good air conditioning, fast wifi, and good water pressure in the shower. The space felt safe and it was well kept. Walking distance to playa murciélago, shopping and restaurants.
I felt it was overpriced, but then again, in my opinion so was everything in Manta.

The pool was clean and well kept. The lounge area was nice to relax. There is also a tiny library between rooms upstairs that had interesting reads.
Rooms are out dated.

Bed was very comfortable.
Towel was dirty, room smelled dusty, breakfast was bad.

The administrator was friendly
The room it felt horrible. And it is weird how a room without a balcony can cost the same as the one with the balcony.
3.5
Decent sized room
When a person asks for your pin number and won't let you see a payment, totally bizzare and ended up using what cash I had. Security to the balcony door was not great either

The hostess who met me at about 10pm (I think her name was Elina) was very friendly and helpful - even carried by bags upstairs to my room and was reluctant to take a $1 per bag tip. The day staff was also attentive and helpful. The room was comfortable, with a queen bed that took up most of the floor space and a wardrobe for a closet. There was a large flat-screen TV but I never turned it on. Everything worked well, It had a large modern bathroom and shower. Desayuna was a delicious fruit and cereal buffet plus freshly cooked huevos revueltos (scrambled eggs), and they would make fresh coffee anytime one asked.
It was a walk-up, which is hard on my worn-out knees and hip. I had made no request for a ground floor room so this was not a fault of the hotel - an elevator would have been nice though. The only other suggestion for improvement: there was no writing desk or chair in the room. I had to take my laptop down to the dining room and work until the battery was drained.

staff, service, value for money

The breakfast was great, always had fruits and delicius food. Comfortable room and clean. We enjoyed the pool a lot. There are many restaurants, supermarket and a mall only a few minutes walking.

The gardening,
The location and the delay at the front desk.
When you are not familiar with the area, it’s a bit intimidating to just go out. The front desk you have to ring to get someone’s attention.
4.5
When I turned down the street I thought I’d guessed wrong again about a place to stay. I’ve stayed many places that appeared to be much better in their ads than what was actually available. But what a pleasant surprise! Not so here. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. Friendly, clean, nice pool, comfortable surroundings to relax in, nice room with table and chair as well as a good shower with central hot water ( some of these things may sound like normal expectations for a North American traveler - but here in Ecuador, especially in small towns, a bed and cold shower is about it). And their hearty breakfast hit the spot.
Nothing in particular.
