A Real Family Run Friendly Boutique and Design Hotel

Excellent freshly prepared homemade breakfast served to your table by members of the family of the owners. Beautiful sea view from the breakfast area. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Beautifully designed and very pleasant rooms with everything you could want - comfortable bed, lots of room, great shower, super clean and new towels and sheets, great soaps/shampoos, some fruit in the refrigerator and other snacks in the room, a nice kitchen and outside space to sit and watch the view. Great Tavernas within a minute's drive. Would happily return for a longer stay.

Really all great ! Just to know that the location is not ideal for walking to the beach (though possible by a downhill road with no sidewalk), but rather better for a really short two minute drive - to the best beach ever - Mikri Amoopi ! Hope in future there will be a pool.

Best location, Romantic clean big and great Design room great breakfast and amazing hospitality!

Wowww!! We had an amazing experience !!!the Hotel is so Beautiful located in a quiet area of the Island close to beautiful beaches. We had such a good time, our room was so romantic design in a modern authentic Greece way, breakfast was great and Maria the owner gave us a warm welcome and great tips for travelling around the island. We highly recommend this hotel for couples !!

Wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay at Althea. Maria is nice and caring and the staff is very helpful and discreet. Breakfast is wonderful, the whole property is spotless and the view is breathtaking (try to stay longer in a night to enjoy the moon and stars reflection onto the sea). Rooms are very well appointed, chic decorated and very clean. Close to beach and restaurants, although you will definitely benefit from a rented car. Everything at Althea was wonderful! Thank you!

Amazing Althea in Amoopi

Everything! I’m so glad I followed the advice of previous reviewers for this place because I was somewhat hesitant to stay out of Pigadia. Amoopi is the perfect location! It has three great beaches all within short walking distance, a plethora of restaurants (which were just starting to open the week we arrived for the start of the season) and beautiful scenery. It is close enough to Pigadia but removed enough to feel “off the beaten track”. Then there’s the property itself. It’s extremely clean, well-kept, peaceful and comfortable. There’s nothing not to love. The rooms have been designed and decorated with such care and the nautical theme just fits! The room we stayed in was bigger than some apartments in a typical city! It had everything we needed. Breakfast is delicious and the dining area is absolutely gorgeous. We can’t say enough about how wonderful Althea Hotel is. Maria does a very good job in running the place and has good advice to give about places to visit. Without a doubt we will return to Karpathos and we wouldn’t have to think twice about where to stay. For us there is no place other than Althea!

Nothing..other than the mosquitoes that seemed to live in the room. We were careful to close all windows and doors in the late afternoon but mostly every night I would wake up to their noise. Luckily another guest must’ve left behind a plug-in repellant so we bought some fillers at the local grocery store and used it each night. I’m sure Maria would have some at the reception but if not I advise future guests to prepare for this.
