location
slight drain smell in bathroom

The location was excellent. The staff, especially the receptionist, were very nice, the room was comfortable, especially for what we paid.
There wasn't anything that we really disliked, except the breakfast was a little small, especially the first day, just one criossant a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice, the next 2 days we were offered a little more

This is a class act. Super location.recommended.
Everything.

A nice old-fashioned hotel. Good location for station and town centre. I was able to occupy my room before check-in time.
My room had no chair – I had to drag one in from the corridor. Reception was sometimes closed but fortunately I arrived when it was open.
4.0
Good location in the centre of the town

the hotel was in the perfect location and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location, and great hotel... sometime in the past. It really needs a refurbishing. The doors of the rooms have gaps with the frame, so sound proofing is next to 0. Everything old and beaten up.
Pretty much everything outside the location

Sultan, the hostess/manager was very welcoming. Room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Shower stall suited our needs. Very convenient location just off the Camino route, and at start of old section. Lift available to higher floors. A number of nearby restaurants. Iglesia within 8 mins walk in case one wishes to attend services.
Nothing.

Lovely staff that made me feel welcome and the breakfast was fantastic!
Also, the room was spotless and I really liked the building, it has a lit of charme and personality.
The room could use a little update

Best location probably. Close to everything you need.
Can be noisy because of traffic. Hotel is located next to main road.

The staff was really nice, the bathroom was completely new and renovated, looked nice, clean
I really wish I could write a better review because the place all in all is nice and the staff were super helpful, looks like its run by nice people. BUT! there were a few real issues that need to be taken care of.
First, the lock on the door of my room was damaged, so much that I wasnt able to open it or lock it myself and had to go down to the reception and ask for help (and my room was on the 4th floor....). When I did, she came up with me and helped me nicely, and also said that they are aware of this problem and have changed the lock a few times. I think if you know about this problem - just don't use this room until you fix it. It makes no sense for me to sleep in a room I can't open....
Second, there was a very very very strong smell of sewer coming from the bathroom. I read this in some of the reviews before I booked, but thought - ok it will be fine. BUT! this smell was so strong and bad, it actually woke me up at night.
I think these are two issues the hotel could and should solve. All the rest was good.

Location was excellent and the staff were very helpful, in particular when a friend arrived on Day 2 and they were able to accommodate him

The hotel is centrally located and provided us with everything we needed.
The staff accommodated a special request for a "to go" breakfast, as we wanted to check out early.

Absolutely lovely. We were welcomed by a very lovely receptionist who spoke good English and was very attentive.
The bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to get up, but did and had a very yummie breakky with eggs on toast/baguette, coffee and juice;)
Absolutely enjoyed our stay, definitely would come back when in the area and highly recommend it to everyone to stay in this warm, friendly and nicely designed old style hotel. We loved it:D

A charming older hotel with cheerful staff, located on the edge of the old town. Our room (306) was large and well-furnished with a balcony large enough for a table and chairs. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location, nice staff.
Very strong smell from the toilet, carried into the room. Had to leave the windows wide open all night.

The hotel has a best possible location, looks very attractive outside and has a spirit of the "good old times". The breakfast room is spacious and has excellent views. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Our room (307) was very small and had a strong smell of sewer in the bathroom, which the hotel staff was unable to fix after we mentioned about it. The room was in "original" condition and was equipped with very poor lighting. Our visit took place in late July, so I had to spend about one hour to find a parking place for the car. The town was crowded and there is no underground parking facilities in the town.

Great location and breakfast.
When we arrived the staff insisted on keeping our passports for half an hour while we went to lunch in order to enter the information by hand. Then they required that we each sign their phone in order to return the passports back to us because the Tourism Board required it. No other hotel did this. I have lost many nights sleep over this.

- Best location in town
- confortable and clean
- friendly staff
- Breakfast very expensive for what it is (single croissant juice and coffee)
- hotel is priced as a 3-4 stars (way overpriced)
- old hotel with very low maintenance
- rooms without noise cancellation

The room and hotel was really charming, good bed, two balconies and huge wardrobe. Plenty space. Breakfast was great.
Facilities were in a bad condition, just not properly made. Also a smell in the bathroom.
4.0
The location couldn't be better, it's between the old part of Ribadesella (where all the best restaurants and bars are and where all the life happens) and the new part (across the bridge, with the beach and all water sport facilities).
The building is old and beautiful.
The staff is really friendly.
The view from the window breathtaking.
Good value for money.
Comfy beds. Quiet room, despite being in the lively neighborhood.
There was a constant smell from the pipes in our bathroom, a very unpleasant aroma all the time all.over the room. The elevator is kinda old and a bit scary. Lacks air conditioning-in August you have to sleep with open windows or you suffocate.
