Sehr schöne Lage am See, sehr ruhig. Hier kann man Ruhe und Entspannung finden.

Frühstück war i.O.

Great location. Room very clean and well equipped. Great use of the pool too.
Very expensive. Restaurant closed Saturday to Tuesday so closed when we were there.

We booked just one night as we needed somewhere to sleep before the Rostock ferry to Sweden departed. Good location for that (if you don't mind driving 10-15 kilometers on country side roads) and nice surroundings.
Check-in until 11PM possible.
Friendly ladies in reception at both checking in and out. With a mix of German and English we understood each other.
Room was ok, good with mosquito net so that the window could be kept open during night.
Bathroom nice, perhaps on the smaller side.
Nice terrace with lake views for breakfast.
Cold breakfast buffet was ok although plates were often empty (also see below).
Private beach (tiny) by the lake, looked nice, did not use.
Did not use the SPA facilities since we arrived in the evening and it was closed (noticed that id does not open until 15:00).
As many others have commented, breakfast is over priced. For €18 per person it is not unreasonable to expect warm meals and table serving. Not even a coffee menu was offered - just plain coffee with cold milk on the side.
Understaffed - during our stay the breakfast room was staffed with one single person who tried to keep up refilling the plates on the buffet and cleaning the tables for new guests- a very difficult job.
A slight disappointment was that the restaurant was closed, they have Ruhetag 2 days a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) - maybe a bit strange in the middle of July when many are travelling. There is a cafe but there they only served tea/coffee and drinks and not possible finding a restaurant without getting in the car for at least 15-20 minutes.
House and garden is really nice but need a bit attention / TLC. Some of it is just simple things like keeping the walking paths and lawn free from leaves and withered flowers and the outside stairs clean from moss in a way so that the place feels looked after.

Location and setting were great and really the main attraction. Sauna & steam room very modern and nice. Gardens nice to relax in with great view to the lake. A couple of the staff were nice and friendly however the majority were not and let the experience down.
Many things did not meet our expectations - most of all the extra costs and rude and unprofessional staff really let down our experience. We had to pay 35 EUR extra for a cot! We have never had to pay for this in hotels before - they always offer it free of charge. The reason we were given was to cover for cleaning costs! First room was small, had no black out curtains or AC and in direct afternoon & evening sun - room temperature must have been +35C when we arrived and there was no way a toddler could sleep comfortably in these conditions. Asked for a room with AC, black out curtains or less direct sun - no rooms in hotel have AC or black out curtains - something unthinkable in a so called luxury hotel. We were offered a bigger and cooler room (room 214) at 10 EUR extra per night. There was a nasty drain smell coming from the bathroom however we had to accept this as no other option. The room was big and could be charming but it is not cosy - only 1 painting on the wall and otherwise felt very empty which is a shame as it has so much potential - like the rest of the hotel. Brightly coloured (blue and pink) cheap perfumed liquid soaps in the bathroom and a shower cap - no shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaners etc that you would expect in a hotel. Only one of the two windows had an insect window cover - with no AC the hotel needs to step up its game with things like this. Breakfast was 18 EUR per person - the price does definitely not meet expectations. we stayed 3 nights and there were recycled egg muffins and other food from the day before. One day we had to ask for bread, milk etc - customer service terrible! Made to feel we were not welcome and whatever we asked for was met with silence and a huff! We saw the guy running the hotel come in to the breakfast room and completely ignore the waitress working there whilst taking a pot of coffee - can see the bad attitude starts at the top and trickles down. Too bad as otherwise a lovely place and setting.

The hotel is next to a Lake. Good view.
Staff are friendly and treat their customers very well.
On a sunny day the room was bit hot. Opened the windows to let the cool air in and there were mosquitos.
Surprised to see an above average hotel without A/C.
The restaurant is subpar with very limited options. And couldn't take a reservation for dinner in the morning when the closest restaurant is 5KM away.
Breakfast quality is poor.
Couldn't use the spa because they don't run Sauna during summer months when it's hot. Well I am wondering, what did I pay for  and no massage services available.

The property is nicely situated with great potential. Wedding facility in summer. This hotel could focus on good cuisine and SPA in winter and autumn
The staff speaks little English or not at all. The exception was one gentleman at the reception who kindly welcomed us and informed us about the most important things in the facility. The kitchen is very average and you could do something special here. Cold water in the pool. Making reservation via booking you get a room in other building not in the castle itself.

Location secluded in the nature right by a lake. Sauna and spa with direct access to lake. Great on-site restaurant and breakfast.

Possibility to go 15 meters and swim in lake directly from sauna building

Location is great. Very quiet.
An elderly lady at the reception (short dark hair) was very unfriendly.

The nice building, the surroundings
So many issues, so disappointing for a “4 star” accommodation! Spare yourself a stressful stay, don't go there!
• UNFRIENDLY AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE , be it the staff as well as the managing director, who we spoke to and who did not apologise nor offered any compensation for any of the issues we encountered!
• NO HOUSE KEEPING - we were booked for breakfast at 09:30, yet at 09:00 the room keeping already knocked at the door to do the room, we asked her to come back for it later. Despite having put the cleaning sign on the door, no-one came back to clean: we had to go and inform reception about it at 4pm, where we were asked "well, what needs to be done?”. Someone was eventually sent (but toilet rolls and tissues were not refilled)
• NO ACCESS TO LIBRARY - after a hike in the rain we were looking forward to some down time in the hotel. The café was full, so we hoped to make use of the library. We were then informed that it was out of order, not cleaned from an event that happened the day before and that it wouldn't be cleaned until next week.
• LACK OF TOILETRIES - we only had some hand-soap like "shower gel" and had to drive 20min to get to the nearest open shop and buy our own toiletries
• SUB-STANDARD ROOM - Broken parts in the room (shower bar, the silicon part on the shower doors, hair dryer) and stains on the wall
• INVOICE ERROR - they made a mistake and made us pay 2 extra breakfasts, it took 10 days for us to get our money back

Main building is very nice huge mansion ('palace') at directly on the shore of a small lake, which is great for swimming. Some water plants when getting in, but very quiet hour long swimming preceding sunset, sharing the lake with brids, was a wonderfull experinece. We extended our stay by one night and moved from the smallish room we had in the annex to a gerat, spacious room with lake view. Good restaurant with very freindly personnel, terrace between main building and lake with tables which are served.
The first night, booked via bookung, was in an annex building with small windows under the roof. Ceratinly not the size (in square meters) advertised on the web, but as expensive (because Saturday to Sunday) as the infinetly better large room in the main building with lake view. It should be stated wherer the room is located!
It was a pity that dinner was not served on the terrace on teh warm summer night, with lake view, for 'organisational reasons' - would have been mucg better!

Wonderful facilities and surroundings! Beautiful place to stay with a private little beach! Even in times of corona the staff did everything to offer us a perfect and safe stay.
