About this house rental
The home is beautifully located on a large lot, just a minutes walk from a lovely white sand beach. You even have a view of the ocean from windows on the front of the house. The back of the house opens onto a gorgeous inland waterway, where you can watch beautifully coloured tropical fish, including spotted eagle rays, swimming by, while frigate birds fly overhead, herons perch on the dock posts, and humming birds dart around looking for their sweet treats. Right on the water's edge is a covered tiki-bar with picnic table and benches where you can enjoy al-fresco meals overlooking the water - maybe fish freshly caught off the dock! And quite often, you can enjoy all this with sunsets to die for!
The house itself is comfortable, spacious and open plan and can comfortably accommodate eight adults. There two conventional bedrooms - one king, one queen, while the third bedroom was converted some time ago, to add more space to the living area, but can still be closed off, for privacy, with an attractive curtain. The bed is a very comfortable futon with a 10" thick mattress. The fourth bedroom is a multi-purpose room with two built-in daybeds and a small closet. The room has a magnificent view of the waterway.
The villa is located in the lovely Silver Cove area of Freeport, just a two minute walk from the beautiful white sand beaches and a five minute drive from the ever-popular Port Lucaya Marketplace with its lively atmosphere, colourful shops and restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.
When staying at Silver Point Villa, you can walk across to the lovely beach in the mornings, lunch at your own private tikki bar on the water's edge at mid-day, lounge in the spacious grounds in the afternoons, surrounded by bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani, ornamental palms and an abundance of coconut palms. You could enjoy a good book and cool drink in one of the shady seating areas, or cool off with a swim in the waterway, which is easily accessed via steps from the wooden dock.
If you arrive by boat, you will be able to take advantage of free dockage at the forty foot long dock.
When the sun goes down, you can cook indoors in the well-equipped kitchen and dine in the formal dining area surrounded by windows looking out on the moon-lit water, or you could return to the tikki bar and enjoy the cool evening air on the water's edge, maybe also cooking outside on the gas grill.
The neighbourhood: The beach is right across the street! and it is a beautiful white sand beach!
The street is a cul-de-sac so there is no traffic to speak of. It is always quiet and peaeful. The most noise we ever get is from the occasional pleasure-craft sailing past the back of the house.
There is a restaurant just across the street and another in the resort a short walk down the street, while a five minute drive or taxi ride will take you to Port Lucaya, where you will have a wide selection of eating places. Alternatively, you could walk to the beach where Anton's open-air beach bar prepares food each evening and a bonfire twice a week. Also just a few minutes walk away is the settlement of William's Town where you will find a couple of choices of eating places where you can sample the local Bahamian fare.
The house is just a short ten-minute taxi ride from the airport and if you decide to rent a car, be assured, we have plenty free parking space. There is no regular bus service from Silver Cove, but there are occasional buses to town or to Port Lucaya and you could always take advantage of inexpensive taxis available at the resort down the street.
A wide variety of water sports is available locally, including scuba, snorkelling, jet-skis, paddle boards, para-sailing and so on.

I took my boat over from Boynton Beach with several friends and our boys for a week-long spearfishing adventure. The home is perfect for what we needed. Pat is very nice and we all had a great time.

The grounds are beautiful and we loved the Tiki hut. The location was great. We rented a car so it was easy to get to where we wanted to go.
We felt pressured not to use the A/C but the mosquitoes were so bad we had to. We also had an ant problem, but learned not to leave anything on the counter by the table.
The house is dated and could use an upgrade. The beds & pillows weren't very comfortable. Didn't use the Jacuzzi tub, due to low water pressure it would have taken too long to fill it.
To be fair, I noticed things others may not as I had a cold and stayed at the house most of the week. Overall, it wasn't on a par with other places we have rented through Verbo. We love the Bahamas and overall had a great time even though we lost a day.
Our stay started 2 days late due to the airline's screw up, so Pat let us stay until the next morning which was nice of her.
This has nothing to do with the house, but we strongly do not recommend Maxxi's "Sea Island Adventures."
He took my Niece & her husband on a snorkeling tour and didn't tell them it was too windy to snorkel until they had paid & were on the boat. They paid $240 for a short tour and lunch. He wouldn't refund a portion, or offer to take them out another day. Very disappointing as most Bahamians don't do business that way and are very customer friendly.
Paradise Cove and snorkeling with the Turtles was a highlight of the trip! This is my 8th trip to the Bahamas and I love it more each time I go.

Had a great time in this cozy house. Pat and her husband were the sweetest they showed us around the house on the first day. We did the paddle boarding right out back of the house and we enjoyed the island. This house was perfect for our family.

The place was great. They even had more than expected. They had kayaks and paddleboards for us to use and a great back yard with and outdoor bar/kitchen. The renters were awesome. They meet us at the property and gave us the grand tour. The house was very clean and well taken care of and well stocked for our stay. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Everything was great. Pat and her husband met us at the rental and walked us through the house & told us everything we needed to know for our stay. She answered every question we had before and during the trip & was always quick to respond. The house was clean and cozy. Next time we come back we will definitely be renting with them again. I can’t say enough good things about the house and Pat.

Pats place is filled with things to do and spaces to enjoy. The location is directly across from the beach and we ate at the beachfront grill several times. We spent our morning drinking coffee on the dock admiring all the beautiful fish that would feed on the corral. Our kids loved the included water sports equipment. The Bahamas is a gorgeous place and this villa has the vibe and location to experience it all!

We rented the house for a week for business purposes. There were 4 adult men with 4 police service dogs and Pat was so helpful and was great throughout the whole process. We would definitely recommend renting this vrbo when in the area. Great views and right across from beach.

We really enjoyed our stay (4 weeks) in Freeport at this well appointed cottage. The tiki hut in the back yard in the canal made us feel like we were at a cottage each time we went outside to eat meals or just hang out. The beach bar across the road gave us access to the ocean where we enjoyed watching the sun rise, floating in the waves and going for beach walks.
Most places are a cab ride away but Antoinette (cab driver) was amazing and gave us good deals.
Pat and Ivan were very accommodating and returned messages promptly as well as gave us a ride to the grocery store when we arrived.
The house had many little extras like kayaks and paddle boards as well as some beach items like chairs and an umbrella.
Thanks for the great stay!

Pat's house is truly outstanding for the price, and Pat is very nice and accommodating. Very quaint cottage feel. All systems worked well and the canal side Tiki is a great spot. Spent a lot of time there. The hurricane after effects can be seen and felt around Silver Point, sad to see, but Pat's house is top notch. Thanks Pat!

Perfect family vacation!
Our family just returned from staying at this home for our 10 day vacation. Mrs Pat is the perfect host. She met us after we landed to check in and show us around. Explained a few things to us and gave us lots of tips for the area, grocery shopping, restaurants, etc. The house itself is absolutely perfect, very clean, comfortable and exactly as the pictures. The kitchen has everything you need for light meals or to prepare a big dinner. They even have a gas grill outside by the tiki bar for your use! All the beds are clean and very comfortable with ample extra blankets and pillows and tons of bath and beach towels. Mrs. Burns’ art work decorates the house and is absolutely amazing.
Mr and Mrs Burns have snorkel equipment, a little fishing equipment, beach chairs, kayaks and paddle aboard a for your to use! The dock in the back yard has steps so you can swim or paddle board/kayak in the canal. The beach across the street is practically private and a cove so the water is calm and there isn’t boat traffic. The beach is shallow and we never found the drop off. Two small restaurants on that beach you must eat at. The food at Bermie’s is amazing and you feel you’ve known them your entire life.
Home is in a very quiet neighborhood but close to everything. 5 Minutes to Lucaya marketplace, 8 to the grocery store, 15 to the airport.
We look forward to our return to Freeport and will most definitely rent from the Burns again!

Tranquility at its finest!
What an amazing stay we had at Pat & Ivan's beautiful, clean, spacious and perfectly located home. The attention to bringing the outdoor beauty into the home was so appreciated. Beautiful artwork, landscape and recreation. Our hosts could not have been more gracious from a lift to the store, complimentary bicycles, stocked toiletries, well appointed kitchen, its own tiki bar, beach equipment, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. This home had it all including reliable internet and cable! Plus location, location, location! We hated and leaving and can't wait to go back. Highly recommend a stay here.

Relaxed and Peaceful
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is as described on VRBO and the pictures are all accurate.. We were a little late arriving but Ivan was there to welcome us with all the information we needed and we found the house was very comfortable. Williams town is a good choice of area to stay as your are close to everything but we would recommend a car. Ours was from Brads and was good value. Thanks Pat and Ivan for a lovely stay, we will I am sure be back soon.

The perfect getaway
We had such a wonderful experience at this house! Beautiful, open and airy! The bedrooms are all in separate corners of the house, which gives everyone a bit of privacy if needed. The backyard is the best thing about this house! The canal out back, lounge chairs and of course, the tiki bar. We had a ton of privacy at this house, just a few boats passing by every once in a while out back and the occasional tour group next door that kept to themselves. Pat and Ivan were so lovely, greeted us when we arrived and took us on our first grocery shopping trip to stock up for the week. They also emailed us updates throughout the week on fun things to check out (Junkanoo was AWESOME, thanks guys!). Having the beach and the bar across the street were very convenient and Williams town is just a short walk away for some local spots! No one in our group wanted to leave our relaxing week in Freeport, it felt like home!

Such a relaxing stay!
We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The home is very open and airy and the breeze was wonderful, everything you need is there. The backyard and tiki bar was so relaxing every day and the walk just across the street to the beach was so simple. Truly some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to. Calm clear waters and very nice people in the surroundings. Really felt like a home away from home. We rented a car and were able to get around the island easily, Pat and Ivan the owners were available for questions whenever needed. Would definitely recommend! Miss it already!!

wonderful!!!
We had an absolutely great experience overall!! The owners were so helpful and connected! They showed us around the house inside and out and took us grocery shopping! They checked in with us and told us highlights of places to visit and told us where to go for the best deals. There was plenty of room for our family of 6 to spread out and not be on top of each other, and plenty of room to sleep. We loved the privacy and freedom. We had access to fishing poles, snorkeling equipment, inflatables, and a bike on the property. We had everything we needed for a comfortable week and great time!!

Wonderful place
We enjoyed our stay at this villa. Pat and Ivan are great hosts, generous with their tips and recommendations about things and places that made our stay even better. Loved the location, quiet and secluded, yet 3 min. walk to the beach area there was a beach bar, a colorful local beach shack, a resort with restaurant, pool bar and spa.
The home has everything you could possibly need, is furnished comfortably, we especially loved the tiki bar right by the canal.
Since we love to cook, we just have one small suggestion: Replace the large saute pan, the inside is extremely scratched up. But since there are a number of smaller ones, this did not inconvenience us at all.

A Good Value for a Stay Outside of the Resorts
This is a spacious, attractive, well-appointed house that has everything needed for a comfortable stay in Freeport. It's in a great location to access area beaches. The layout and airiness of the house are really nice. The owners have a good grasp of the hospitality business. However, there are some minor problems in the execution.
First and foremost, the location. We discovered two days into the stay that one of the 'neighbors' were running a business next to us We were awakened around 7:30 am to the sound of chairs and canoes being moved about, loud tour guides talking, and music playing. This happened sporadically on different days. A nearby business (on the beach) kept us up late one night with very loud bass on their music system but was quiet other nights. Had we known about this in advance, we might have gone elsewhere. However, some folks might not even notice; if you're expecting dead quiet, you're probably not going to find it unless you drive 30 miles to the east end of the island.
Secondly, aesthetics. The house really could use a complete remodel. The master bath has some moldy caulk and tile grout, a broken showerhead, corroded tub fixtures, and other minor problems. Our socks grew dark from walking around on the floors, which looked clean enough but apparently weren't. The house is really a microcosm of the island itself: functional but a little shabby and out-of-date. Better attention to cleaning details (refrigerator door, cabinet pulls, flooring, etc) are suggested. Attention to functional details (ensuring all light fixtures have working bulbs, tires on the bike are inflated, windows don't stick, etc) is also suggested.
The owners were pleasant and professional. However, we are used to not having to interact at all with the owners. There is something a little awkward about this and is why most VRBO rentals have a lockbox. We were also very slightly pressured not to use the air conditioning and leave the windows open, because of the cost of electricity, something we trust isn't expected during the summer months.
In short, this was a good value and an enjoyable place to stay. A few dollars to remedy some of the minor issues noted above, and some better attention to detail and this rental can easily be a four (or higher) star property. The noise situation, however, needs to be clearly explained up-front. Again, many people would not even be aware of the activity next door. It wasn't excessive or unreasonable, just unexpected

Great house & exceptionally fine owners
We stayed at this property for an entire month. We are frequent users of Home away properties and found this property to be among the best kept and fully equipped we have occupied. The location is ideal for access to a nearby beach, and close to many of the Freeport Bahama places of interest. Finally, the owners are among of the most caring, friendly and attentive people we have met during our Homeaway adventures. If you are planning a trip to Freeport Grand Bahama you must consider this property for your stay.

Nice place, awesome location, awsome'r people
Stayed here for 2 weeks. The house is just as shown in the pictures with plenty of space. Great A/C for sleeping at night.
The only thing that isn't as shown in the pics is the backyard. IT IS AWESOME. We actually spent just as much time in the Tiki hut as in the house. Ivan hooked us up with basic fishing gear and even delivered the bait (conch). The fishing was lots of fun - saw several different kinds of fish. Also saw a couple of sharks, some upside-down jellyfish (not dead, just float that way) and even a Manatee, just a few feet from the Tiki hut! The snorkeling off of the backyard dock was a great way to get used to our new gear as the water is really calm.
Right across the street is a local restaurant that was pretty new and spacious. The food is good (burgers, seafood, drinks) and right on the beach. We actually did most of our snorkeling right off of that beach and along the adjacent jetty - a 90 second walk from our front door. There is a blue hole (like an under-ocean cave) right off of the jetty where you can see some pretty big fish.
Pat even sourced us some cool Bali art that we saw earlier in the week. All we did was mention it and she took the initiative to see us off with it in hand.
Great hosts... would stay again for sure.
