Hello,
Unfortunately, I have some concerns with our stay;
- on arrival, I was told we were in Chantel 2 and not Chantel 1, we then went to Chantel 2 to be told we have to got back to Chantel 1. This is no walking distance, we had the take the car and queue every time. When you arrived from a. whole day of driving you wish not to be sent around the mountain roads for no reasons.
- no hot water after 18:00, I have asked the reception the reason why and they say that too many people are taking showers at that time of the day and there was not enough water. I then decide to take showers in the spa but the water was also cold too, the swimming pool was cold, one sauna room and one hammam room were not working either.
- the single beds and kids beds were very uncomfortable and my youngest's beds had bed bugs and was bitten on her face.
- when we arrived at the flat the bins in bathrooms were not emptied. I have asked the reception twice but they did do anything about it. The fondue machine was also not cleaned and so other kitchen appliances.
- at 08:00am, there was a hydraulic fluid leak in the lifts next to our flat and the fumes was horrendous thru out the corridors, our flat, ski cabinet room, many people complaints but it was still smelly by the end of the day.
I will not recommend to stay at this resort, we paid a lot of money for that week and we didn't have hot water or a clean/safe which I believe are the basic.

The ski resort was great with lots of variety and after ski in La Folie Douce. Some good restaurants in town. The steam room in the hotel was good.
The layout of the rooms and views were terrible making our stay uncomfortable. For example, the sofa bed opened up in front of the stairs and restricted access to the only toilet at night. The pool was cold!

Great ski resort, nice little village (Arc 1800) with a couple of surprisingly good restaurants
There’s no mention of it at the website, but “Alpages de Chantel P & V Premium Residence” is actually made up of 3 different buildings along the hill and they vary a lot in terms of quality and amenities!
Basically, you have a 30% chance of getting what you see on the website unless you book direct and demand to avoid the buildings “Saint Bernard” and “Roselende”. We did not know this, so ended up in "Roselende" at the bottom of the hill – literally! It was officially assessed 4-star in 2018 but is now very worn and I expect it will be downgraded at the next assessment in 2023.
If looking at this hotel, you should also beware that only the top building has a reasonable ski-in-ski-out and the Booking.com webpage only shows pictures of the (better) pool, which is located in the top building. The only way to get between buildings is climbing a snowy/muddy slope similar to a red ski run – a 30-40% gradient not easy to go up nor down! You could drive, but parking at the top building is, in the words of the receptionist, “only for residents - Besides, you have your own pool, down there.” (!)
Getting to the village and back involves an unavoidable walk downhill - either through the walkway, which is partially on one of the slopes or by taking the dedicated cabin lift, which entails walking down the "ski in" to get back. Google maps does not have an updated satellite picture so please see photos below.

The resort was good . The hotel was well placed for ski school. Lovely mountain view.
We booked Alpages Chantel. It took a while to get up to the hotel. It was cold and snowing. We had to get a shuttle and walk 200m with cases only to find out they we were booked into a different building. We were not informed of this in advance. Staff were very unhelpful. We had to go and stand in the cold on the road to get to the other building. It was freezing and snowing. The pool was good but the rooms were dated and compact.

lovely views if you have an apartment on the front
it was difficult to find, the directions for the hotel led us to a different building, we spent two very frustrating hours dragging suitcases around trying to find the right place ! also pool could be open earlier than 9am

The location of the residence is ideal with easy ski in and out and plenty of amenities nearby. The staff are very friendly, professional and try their best to be helpful. Pool area is very nice, family friendly and well maintained; pool water temperature was warm and comfortable. The indoor parking is very comfortable with easy access and assigned parking spots which is a huge bonus, but very expensive. The area is calm and comfortable with phenomenal views.
The apartment was dark, sombre, not well lit, aging and in need of update and refurbishing. The layout of the residence is very awkward, forcing one to go inside and outside to reach various parts of the residence. Elevator access is only available for part of the residence, and only to some floors; carrying suitcases in and out is very difficult. The apartment layout is also poorly designed. For example, the duplex unit had only one toilet on the bottom floor with bedrooms located on the 2nd floor, forcing difficult night time toilet visits down creaky and treacherous stairs. One bedroom had very low ceilings, making for many bruises on our heads. I have no idea why any architect would design a hotel building in this way! The cleanliness of the apartment left much to be desired and was far below expectations, particularly for the outrageous prices being charged. Water temperature in the bathrooms fluctuated between freezing cold and scalding hot, making for a very poor experience and another of the many design flaws of the building. The hotel should clearly indicate on booking.com if the apartment being reserved has windows or a balcony facing the dark interior of the residence. These apartments should not be priced equally to others which do not have interior facing windows. This is wholly unfair and the renter should be aware of these crucial details as part of the reservation process.

Easy to get to by car
Convenient ski in ski out hotel
Private gondola to get to the apartments from the bottom of Les Arcs 1800 ski area
No onsite parking available when we arrived
The bedroom only had one power socket which was used for a bedside lamp, so had too choose between light or phone/device charger

The location of the property was excellent, the pool was fantastic and staff very helpful. Bit of a walk up and down stairs to get to the ski locker instead of just being able to walk through but that was just the location of the room we were in down the stairs right on the slopes in 2B. It would have been ski-in-ski-out apart from the fact that you have to go to the ski room. Overall a very nice stay.
The room was a bit small for a table and you could barely cook and navigate around the room. Looks like the place would have been good in the 80s but is starting to look a little dated now. The beds were a bit old now and could really do with a refresh as they're starting to sag. Bit frustrating opening doors onto other doors - that is the bedroom door and the bathroom door open onto each-other, you can't use the coat rack as you can't open the spare bedroom door if you have coats on the rack. Just a bunch of these design fails that would seem obvious.

Excellent location, the best view from balcony at Mont Blanc, very good access to Arc 1800 facilities and entertainment
Only 1 toilet in a large apartment. Parking space wasn't available by the hotel, luckily, public parking was close by.

Loved that it was slightly away from Les Arcs 1800. Great to have sheets towels and washing up items included. The kids loved the pool downstairs. Great to have washing machine and dryer there too.
Nothing. It was just what we needed.

Access to all of Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry is fantastic. Great for intermediate and semi-advanced skiiers. Several good restaurants to choose from in walking distance from the apartment as well as a Spar for those looking to use the self-catering option.
Apart from 1 particular day where we queued for ~20 mins to get onto the Transarc 46/47 lift, this time of the year was great.
