we loved the location being a 5 minute walk into Stirling for coffees and breakfasts. We loved the pretty garden. the chocolates and wine were a lovely , unexpected treat! The fire made the apartment cozy and warm. Freya was helpful when we asked for a lighter duna as the fire made the bedroom too warm for the winter weight duna! The hot water service wasnt working on arrival but it was fixed very quickly the next morning .

The easy walk to Stirling - no need to use the car. The garden was magnificent to look out on and the location so quiet and peaceful. The building holds so much history - it was special to be able to stay in such beautiful surroundings.

Cute property, lovely location, very friendly cat was a bonus (did not come inside but greeted us daily and was keen for a pat). There was a fire box (which we didn't use because we weren't there enough) but it would've been lovely, and there was plenty of firewood and kindling, etc. It was very cold when we visited, but I can imagine that beautiful garden in summer - lots of nice places to sit, a little running creek, etc. The property ?owner/?manager bumped into us as we were leaving and was very friendly and pleasant.
I was aware on booking that the apartment was split level but hadn't realised (despite combing the pictures carefully) that the bathroom was not on the same level as the bedroom. The first step was irregularly sized and meant a "step down" right in front of the clothes rod. My partner actually stumbled down it twice during our stay and exacerbated a pre-existing knee injury. Also there was a step Up to the bathroom - another negative in the dark.
The bathroom was large, but the vanity was a tiny basin (little larger than a soup bowl) Inside a corner cupboard, so that one needed to place one's head Inside the cupboard to rinse (or shave!). It was a little bizarre. There was also Very limited space to place toiletries/cosmetics, etc.
Final negative with the property was that the heating was completely ineffective in the lounge (and therefore bathroom) area. Though, had we lit the fire, this would've been resolved.
The main factor influencing the overall negative rating however was that, after making a "non-refundable" booking, I received a request for a $300 security deposit. Not unreasonable in itself, but on paying the deposit, I received a list of "conditions" to be met for return of the deposit. Whilst these may or may not have been reasonable, I felt that greater transparency was required PRIOR to completing a booking (let alone payment).

Absolutely beautiful cottage. Lovely welcome gifts.

Beautifully styled cottage with old features and wonderful garden. Very picturesque, cosy and cute.
Could have had another set of towels for our 10 day stay aswell as, having more than 3 rolls of toilet paper, had to go out and buy our own. There was also an issue with the toilet flushing from the beginning and was getting clogged. A few dead flies on the window sill, right of bed. Little bit of dust here and there but not very bothersome.

beautiful surroundings and delightfully furnished cottage

Spectacular setting amongst a delightful garden & running stream. Felt like we were in a tree house away from it all. Everything was thought of from the amazingly comfortable bed to quality sheridan towels/linen. Marshmallows & wood for the fire, organic rose & chocolate. We couldnt have asked for a better location, a few walks into the main street of stirling looking at the gorgeous surroundings.
could not fault

The living room was cozy with a nice fire burning stove. There was kindling, wood, and matches. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great for what we wanted to do, which is visit Mount lofty, Cleland Wildlife Park, and the botanical gardens. They're only a short drive away. It was a quiet location and the grounds were very pretty.
The sink in the bathroom was itsy bitsy. It was in a closet without any light. It was a challenge to shave. However, the shower was very roomy and well lit. We were on the second floor so there were quite a few outside wooden steps to climb (we wouldn't have minded it except for the luggage). Also, there is a microwave but not a stove or oven. No laundry facilities.

Such a lovely cottage, in beautiful surrounds in a fantastic location just a short walk from Stirling Village. It feels like a home that's been loved full of charm, beauty, warmth and character. Small but super cosy. The garden and tree top surrounds are simply stunning with views in all directions. Gem of a place that made the stay a special and memorable one.
Kitchen facilities were fairly basic given there was no stove/cooktop eg cutlery - only one knife. No laundry also. Ok for a short stay but for multiple weeks its a bit basic.
The steps from bedroom to kitchen are a bit of a hazard - they're unevenly spaced and no lighting on them at night. Need to be super careful not to trip when descending.
I needed to use plyers on the key lock box to pull it open once I had entered the code - I couldn't do it with my hands.
I couldn't find the switch to the outside lights which made coming and going along the side of the house a bit dark.

The decor was quaint. The air con worked well. The surrounding trees were nice.
There were no cooking facilities - microwave only- the microwave was awkwardly placed with electric cords blocking its door, making spills likely, and the "kitchen" (actually a corridor) had white carpet! I had a week on microwave food and cafe food. Minimal cutlery and crockery. Bathroom and toilet were cluttered with cleaning equipment. Hairs in the shower corners, not properly cleaned. The bathroom sink bizarrely was placed in a tight cabinet you had to poke your head into-dodging the vacuum cleaner. The lighting was apalling - lots of books on the shelves, but only dim lighting- no reading lamps, couldn't read at night. The TV didn't work. The chair on the verandah was broken. I left a day early. For this I paid $400 a day!

Location and owner kept us informed
WiFi poor and need to pay a bond which was not disclosed at time of booking

Location was superb, the sourrounding towns themselves (Stirling, Crafers, Mt Lofty) are gorgeous and there is plenty to do, Adelaide is close-by (20ish mins drive) and the accomodtation itself is gorgeous, the host was extremely hospitable. If i had to do it again, I'd stay longer and rent a MX-5 as the windy, tree covered hilly roads are a charm.
