The staff was exceptionally friendly, laid back, and welcoming. The surrounding property is gorgeous and rooms were very comfortable, clean, and full of little delights for the guest. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant met a high standard without for a moment being pretentious or contrived - just excellent food, delivered with great care and attention. It was very clear that the staff cares a lot about each of their guests - would heartily recommend to anyone considering a stay here. Thank you for the very enjoyable stay!

Breakfast was excellent, both the buffet with fresh fruits and a choice of pastries and juices, and the cooked breakfast which was also excellent

The hospitality everyone really did their best to make sure our stay was comfortable and our room was made up each time we were out I absolutely loved that❤️
we only had one restaurant option due to covid. Also I hope hotels can take as much care of guests checking out as when they check in.

On arrival at the Hotel the welcome was personal and attentive. Exactly what you would expect of a hotel of this calibre. The room was spacious and very well appointed and an amply stocked complimentary mini bar. The staff do really go out of their way to make you feel special, something I expect as a minimum from the Virgin Brand.
The beds feel luxurious and even down to the Africology Soap products the finishing touches are on point. We were in a Merlot Room and whilst the Juliet balcony is small the view is breathtaking.
The service in all aspects is exactly what you would expect and the staff do go out of their way to attend to your needs.
Two things really stood out for me when comparing this exclusive venue with others at which we have stayed. Firstly, very disappointing that the fries which accompanied the meal were frozen out of a bag and not real fried potatoes, this is an expectation of mine that food of great quality should be accompanied by the freshest ingredients and not frozen chips. Secondly the breakfast menu and buffet whilst sufficient, was underwhelming when compared with other places we have stayed. No champagne or Mimosas, and very little bread choices on the continental buffet, in fact only croissant. The hot food to order was superb though.
Additionally, I also had a special occasion which I had informed the team about and was let down a little. I wanted to surprise my husband with his birthday gifts at the breakfast table and expected some special touches at our table, or even in the room. This has always been how other hotels have made our birthdays and anniversaries a bit more special, and I had high expectations of Virgin & Mont Rochelle so it was a bit of a let down. Very minor, but disappointing nonetheless.
