Good location, cleaning staff were good. I was able to safely store my e-bike.
Broken electrical plug, shower hose in separate bathroom was leaking so had to use bath

The room and location were really good. Staff were super helpful and friendly.
The included breakfast was excellent, hot, nicely presented and well cooked.
The bed in our room was major uncomfortable. My wife got no sleep at all and we both had bad backaches in the morning.
On inspection, they had simply put a foam mattress on top of an old collapsed mattress.
The result was really really uncomfortable. The only way I got any sleep was by sit-up in the bed.

Always a pleasure to be back at the Glendale, a real home from home.

the location
Lack of security in the property and no staff overnight. Another guest accessed my room at 4am. in the dark, twice

Both bedroom and en-suite were good, plus a comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep.
Plenty to choose from in the restaurant and bar downstairs was popular with the Penarth locals.
A good nights stay and I recommend this hotel for other travellers.

Location is great. Very close to Penarth Station with good access to Cardiff. Useful for Llandough Hospital too.
No lift so visitors have to carry their own luggage upstairs. Facilities and decoration need updating. Few en suite rooms (shared facilities). No car parking on site. I had to park further along the road.

Location was spot on. Next to station for regular 10 min train to cardiff, shops nearby, plus if needed pubs and on site restaurant.
Only minor but the paint behind batbroom door had worn away.

great location, friendly staff and amazing food in the adjoining restaurant
single rooms are a little tired but for the price I can’t complain

I only had a short stay at Glendale, but it was lovely. The rooms design gave it a historic feel and very tidy. The bed was very comfy. Staff made themselves available as possible, I called the hotel a few times regarding early check ins and other bits. Staff always answered the phone and when I arrived in person. Staff were polite and very accommodating. I'm gutted I didn't treat myself to a breakfast. However my short stay at Glendale was lovely. I noted there was parking available -this is street parking after reading other reviews. There are a number of free roads to park on a few minutes away. I was able to park 5 minutes away from the hotel. Also a short walk/drive from the coast. Happy customer.
I did struggle with the check in times, I traveled far to get to Wales and I called a few times for an earlier check in. I was originally told to call on the day, then prior to my arrival, then that it wasn't possible. However when I arrived in person. The staff really helped me and accommodated for me. When I returned in the late hour after a nightmare journey from Cardiff. Staff were on hand to make sure I got the keys to my room. Overall I didn't like the check in time but the staff were always on hand to help.
