Escolhi essa pousada pela localização, avaliações e por ter ar condicionado no quarto. Mas ela me surpreendeu. Limpissima, café da manhã incrível, wifi q realmente funciona (e o hotel estava cheio). Estacionamento no prédio, arejado, coberto, espaçoso.
Obrigada. Recomendo. Voltaria outras vezes, sem dúvidas.

Amei a experiência!

The location was excellent. It was about 1km on foot from the bus station ("rodoviaria"). Not much of an incline from bus station to the guest house, so it was easy to walk the distance with a backpack. Ouro Petro is a very hilly town so other guest houses can be seriously uphill or steeply downhill. Case Grande was also only about 300 - 400m from the main town square. Everything interesting in Ouro Preto is within walking distance. Check-in was efficient, and the room assigned to me had a great view of the valley below, as did the breakfast terrace.
The place has character, though that also means that most furniture is on the older side. Because the room came with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, it had very little walking space. That's a trade-off that may be unavoidable. Did not use the airconditioner because the temperature on the days I stayed was simply wonderful. There was a mini refrigerator, which was stocked (quite unnecessary for a guest house of this standard, but it seems to be common in Brazil). The bed had a foam mattress. It was OK for me though others may consider it too firm.
The lighting in the room was ok but could be brighter.
Bathroom fixtures were in good working order and looked quite new. The shower was of a reasonable size, though a bit of a tight squeeze around the toilet bowl and washbasin (which was also too small). Water pressure was good, hot water come through quickly and drainage was good. Towels looked a bit old, but was not a problem.
The breakfast buffet was generous for a small guest house. It was strong on pastries (many were sweet - very common in Brazil too), freshly-squeezed juice, home-made yogurt, fresh fruit, muesli. Hot items: scrambled eggs and 2 types of sausages.
I could not open the old window by much, which was a shame since the weather outside was so nice. They didn't open properly nor close properly. When the rain and mist came, the damp got in. Casa Grande needs to update their windows.
The wifi signal was generally weak and slow, though with a bit of patience, it was OK. Wifi seemed to be absent altogether in the breakfast room.
No mini-safe.
Being an old property, there was only one use-able power point in the room for charging equipment, and it was near the table, not the bed (there was one more power point in the bathroom). Would also be good if the table also had a light over it.

The view was amazing, I chose the room with a window and I could see the town below fully on the balcony.

The breakfast was good.
The room was moldy and dusty. The mold was on the walls and on the bathroom door. The blanket was very dusty and the bedside table was black when I wiped it.
The room was also very loud, you could hear the streets and people staying in the other rooms.

We loved the location which was close to everything. The common areas and views were amazing to enjoy Ouro Preto. The property has parking which was very handy and the people working were very helpful and friendly.
We had a room on the front of the property which was very noisy due to traffic and being near the lobby.
