Beautiful, spacious, comfortable, clean, welcoming, sea views, lovely patio and garden, convenient, private and well equipped, all describe Farthings Nest. We have just had a fantastic week's break here. Rooms are all bigger than they seem on the photos, and it’s a shortish walk down the hill to the harbour area (although it seemed much longer on the way up!). From the welcome hamper to the very well equipped kitchen, living room and bedroom to the magnificent bathroom, the owners could not have done more to make our stay here one to remember for all the right reasons. And if you don’t know the area there are lots of beautiful coastal walks, towns and beaches to keep you busy. Thank you!!

Relaxing stay with a sea view
Farthings Nest is located near the highest point of Ilfracombe with great sea views from the lounge and bedroom. Lovely cream tea hamper was a surprise. Plenty to do, walks, boat trips and of course the delights of the coastal towns and villages. Owners, who live upstairs, very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Shangri La in North Devon
Outstanding, majestically spacious, scenic, a gem, are only a few of the many words l could use to describe this amazing annex. A lot of love has gone into making this a perfect place to stay in North Devon. Exceptionally well appointed and wonderfully spotless. Everything from the impressively large, soft bath towels to the abundance of coat-hangers is 5 star.
Stephanie and Mick are gracious and welcoming, nothing is to much trouble for this charming couple.
Needless to say: we will be back

Perfect, cosy, retreat 🥰
Our stay in Farthings Nest was wonderful. We loved everything about it. It looked even better than the pictures. Extremely clean, everything you needed and more for a relaxed holiday.
Stunning sea views while you enjoyed a drink on your very own patio.
A short walk to Ilfracombe harbour, shops and restaurants.
We both enjoyed our complementary creamed teas, that were in a welcome hamper
Loved the decor and the bed was extremely comfortable, which to us is crucial.
Steph and Mick made sure we were happy with everything, and if we needed we only had to ask.(which we didn’t because it had everything)
We felt completely at home and have already recommended it to our friends and family, and intend to visit again.

Lovely Sea View Accommodation
Farthings Nest has modern, bright and comfortable accommodation. Everything needed for a relaxed holiday has been catered for. Plus I’m confident that should any problem arise, the host (who reside above the property) would be more than happy to help if possible.
The apartment is only about a 15 minute walk to the harbour, but be aware that Ilfracombe has very steep streets.

Great.
I booked this for my elderly parents as a Christmas present.
Then came the covid restrictions...but Steph was great at reorganization to a different date when travelling was allowed.
The property was immaculate, spotless and we'll equipped. It had great views and the hosts were very helpful.
My parents loved their stay and have been singing it's praises to all and sundry.

This is an extremely comfortable clean and beautiful apartment overlooking Ilfracombe harbour. We enjoyed the coastal walks and beaches despite stormy weather and Steph could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Circumstances unfortunate
We arrived just a day before our age group was told by the PM to self-isolate for maybe 4 months. Not the best way to start a holiday! Panic buying in the local supermarket; cold, drizzly, misty weather & muddy, spongy countryside making walking (our preferred activity) unpleasant; having to avoid crowds; National Trust properties semi- or completely closed: we went home 3 days early. But that’s not to imply anything at all unfavourable about Farthings Nest. In all normal circumstances, it is a spotless, charming, delightfully furnished and equipped accommodation with a lovely view (the mist DID sometimes disappear!) overlooking Ilfracombe. If we come OK out of the corona virus, we might well consider returning to redo the week we HAD intended, had the abnormal weather and the CV not intervened.

Very enjoyable and relaxing short stay
Very comfortable and stylish annexe, just right for a couple.
Lovely views of the sea and surrounding area. We were unlucky with the weather, rain and strong winds for our first few days but were able to explore the area later. Lovely cappuccino at Watersmeet Hotel , Woolacombe after a bracing walk on the beach. Thanks to Stephanie and Michael for the welcome hamper on arrival.

New Year
We arrived at Farthings Nest after a very busy Christmas catering for family looking for peace and quiet, We were not disappointed. The annex was everything we hoped for and more besides. Sparkling clean with beautiful linen. The annex was very well equipped with everything you needed for a self catering holiday. Steph and Mike are very welcoming but not intrusive and always happy to help with local information. We were surprised with a lovely hamper full of Christmas goodies which we really enjoyed.
Although attached to the main house it was extremely private with fabulous views from the lounge and bedroom. The lounge was very relaxing and comfortable as was the bedroom. On warmer spring / summer days it has its own private garden for outside dinning looking out to sea.
A short drive to the harbour gives you easy access to the beautiful Tarka coastal walks. Stunning views. Also short car journey to beautiful beaches. We would definitely recommend accommodation to anyone, and if you haven't explored this part of Devon, Ilfracombe is a perfect place to stay.

Perfect getaway with a sea view :)
We have just spent a lovely and relaxing New Year break at Farthing’s Nest. We were greeted on arrival with a lovely hamper of goodies and welcome card from Steph and Mick. The property is immaculately presented, spotlessly clean and contains everything you need for a comfortable week away. We used it as a base and went off everyday to explore Devon and Cornwall. We had a great time, would definitely stay again, and would highly recommend Farthing’s Nest to everyone. Thank you Steph and Mick x

Simply Delightful
We loved our stay at the nest. We had the most relaxing time. The property had everything that we needed. It was beyond immaculate. Wonderful hosts who are friendly but not imposing or intrusive. A very quiet and tranquil place to just be. Wonderful fresh flowers were waiting for our arrival and a hamper of vegan goodies - very thoughtful and kind. What a gem of a place. I shall miss the wonderful views from the lounge and bedroom! Slept really well as the bed was so comfortable.
Great wifi available and him indoors pleased with the nice tv and great channels available. Great, great place to stay and will be a hard act to follow. Would recommend to all family and friends and hope to return when the weather is warmer.

A brilliant stay
The Farthing's Nest was the perfect accommodation for our stay in Ilfracombe. The apartment was spacious, modern and had everything we needed...plus more.
The rooms, especially the bedroom and bathroom, are large and are well equipped with modern decor. There are also amazing sea views from the property. On the kitchen table was a hamper containing a full cream tea - this was a welcome surprise upon arrival and was, of course, enjoyed the Devon way. The WiFi in the building is excellent and the TV even has SkyQ. The accommodation has it's own parking space.
We walked into Ilfracombe every day to visit the harbour, shops, and restaurants. This was was a short (15 min) walk but does require going down, and back up, a steep hill. This didn't bother us and was in fact a good way to burn off the fish and chips!
We are very pleased we booked this accommodation and would certainly return. We'd also be happy to recommend it without hesitation.

North Devon boy returns.
A warm welcome awaited us with a cream tea and magnificent bouquet of flowers provided by Steph. The accommodation was first class and very well appointed. My wife and I enjoyed just relaxing and enjoying the sea air. The main purpose was not sightseeing as the area was well know to us but to see our son and his partner who now work in the area.
I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to any discerning couple who want peace and quite with luxury.

Gaultless
Farthings Nest is set in a stunning location with views down onto Ilfracombe and out across the sea. It has everything you could possibly need for a really relaxed holiday and, most importantly, is spotlessly clean. The welcome hamper with cream tea was a lovely touch, as were the fresh flowers. It served as the perfect base for our holiday with easy access to towns and gorgeous beaches. Thank you to the owners Steph and Mick too for such a warm welcome and making sure we had everything was okay.
