Convenient location and nice room. A good breakfast. Helpful staff.
We had not been informed until we arrived that the whole place closed at 6pm on a Sunday so there was no food or drink available after that time and other dining options in Frome after 6 on a Sunday were very limited. Cleaning standards in the main bar area could be improved. Breakfast was eaten with dropped crisps still on the floor from previous day and a cluster of beer/fruit flies around.

it worth the price tag when the paint is falling off the walls

The location
the lack of things from housekeeping

I love the style of the property, our room was very comfortable and the staff were super friends specially the evening we arrived.
we didn’t have any mini shampoos/ bathroom products that it advertised originally.
getting up for breakfast was confusing as we had to find someone from the other bar but the food was delicious. think I’d come back once they have the new menu finished as we did have a limited options for food.

The hotel had good character and the rooms were nice
The room category booked through booking.com did not match with the room categories they had so they couldn't confirm if we had breakfast included (This is what we booked for), They didn't have an ensuite bathroom in addition to the bathtub in the room as mentioned in the room category booked. There were people making noise out of our room until past 4 AM the first day and we didn't get any sleep.

The only good thing was the location
Overall very bad. Really dirty and run down. No staff to speak with. No tv remote or hairdryer. No insulation between rooms: you could actually hear discussions from the next room and outside.

Was not offered breakfast
Not a lot

The general manager was an absolute angel. She answered all my questions, accommodated me to the maximum and was an absolute pleasure to talk with. The facilities were great, bar staff happy. The outdoor area is beautiful and the building even more so. The barn conversion is quirky and comfortable.
Nothing could have been better.

Good room, spacious, bath was lovely
Very noisy - from street and party in building we weren’t told about.

Fabulous building, very atmospheric. Very large and comfortable room with a roll-top bath. Perfect for relaxing.
Staff were fantastic
No shower gel in room. Luckily superdrug is across the road.
Kitchen was closed so no breakfast
Property has recently changed ownership and was a little chaotic

location and character
Unfortunately our stay was rather spoilt by the fact that we were told late Sunday afternoon that the hotel would be closed on the Monday and there would be no breakfast on that day. We were promised a refund for this but we still haven’t received anything so far.
Also on Monday morning we had no hot water and we’re eventually told it was due to a power cut during the night. Not really good enough I’m afraid.
Very disappointed as the hotel came highly recommended.

the room we booked was large will a lovely bath
We checked in on Boxing Day and heating/TV had broken. it was freezing. There were no staff on site to inform.
We told staff of our issues the following morning. In the evening we informed that it couldn’t be fixed and were taken to a different room.
The room was much smaller but was warm.
My husband is 5 foot 11” tall, and scraped his head on the door frame of the original room. He left skin on the door frame and obviously bled a lot from his scalp. I cleaned it and glued it after an hour, but when we reported it no accident book was filled in. There are no signs nor protection on the door frame.
The new room (3) was so noisy: in the room next door loud music was left on until 00:40 even though no one was in there and it kept us awake.
The floor is gorgeous and old but as it’s on the corridor at the top of the first flight of stairs it creaks as everyone walks passed and woke us up. You can hear every word said: in the hotel area and on the street which we couldn’t in the room we booked (but the pub was shut that night!)
We communicated this to two members of staff who said they’d refund us money for the cold room, moving to a much smaller room and for the noise.
So far no one has contacted me and it’s been almost a month.
Very disappointing as the room was recommended by a family member who uses the hotel frequently for work functions/stays. I have informed them of the poor service and the company will not be using the hotel again

We were very disappointed
The hotel was dirty, and walls were covered in muck. the towels were rough and off white. We booked the room for a bit of respite and relaxation after a difficult Christmas, and we’re told that the pub is open till 12 and if the bar were noisy to come out and they would try quieten down - not what you expect for that amount of money. the pictures are not representative of the room. we requested no feather as I am allergic and the duvet and pillows were feather. We were so disappointed and didn’t even end up using the room as it wouldn’t have served the purpose of the trip so left straight away. Such a shame and such a waste of money that we really couldn’t afford to miss out on.

Location
Being told after paying inflated prices for Xmas day and boxing that they were, in fact, closed and no services available. £800 for days was not a fair price for the service received.

Tia was so lovely. So accommodating and kind. The room itself was gorgeous. We loved our stay.

The service was great, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. There was a great atmosphere. Bed was really comfy and the room was full of character. Breakfast was delicious.
It's central Frome so no parking included but plenty of places to park near by.

lovely bath tab, room was warm
It is advertised you will be getting a gold leaf bed, instead is an old fabric one, the floor is extremely squeaky. At 10 pm we got scared as some other people tried to get into our room because they were given the wrong room number. We sat at 12.25 fir lunch as per reservation and we only got a menu at 12.45 after searching for someone to serve us

Cosy large room with a nice bath and decoration.
The old building and location in Frome
Some walls need to be checked as there was some damp in the stairway, and stains/dirt in some of the room walls. Not what you expect in a 4 stars hotel standards.

Good location, lovely building, friendly staff.
Noisy place, incredibly creaky floors!

Lovely old building, lots of character. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. There was a small problem with something in our room and they were so kind and tried so hard to fix it, we really appreciated that.
(really nothing....Small cups in the bedroom!)
