We enjoyed hanging out on the porch and looking at the view. We are a big family with 8 adults and a baby and had lots of space between the main house and cabin. Highly recommend staying there!

Headlands Cove was a wonderful place for 3 generations of our family to spend a long weekend together. Plenty of bedrooms, ample living and dining areas, and a sweet studio apartment that the grandparents enjoyed for separate-but-together time. Would love to return here.

Lovely setting. Perfect for preparing and eating our large healthy breakfasts. Nice walks to town. Very quiet. The main house smelled very musty but cottage and studio did not.

Well designed to host a large group if you rent the entire property. Main house is comfortable. Views are stunning.

The location and views are fantastic, they made the stay wonderful! We were a group of 8. In addition to the main house we rented both the cottage and the studio which comfortably accommodated our group. Each of the 3 units has its own bed, bath and kitchen area as well. There were some annoyances, however. Lights in the front entrance to the main house didn't work, nor did the main light over the sink in the master bath. The freezer kept defrosting itself and leaking all over our food in the fridge. The burners on the stove didn't all work all the time. We prepared many meals, and appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked, and had plenty of plates, glasses, pans, cooking utensils, etc. Communication about check-in was very poor. Vacasa did not give us codes to check in until immediately before check-in. VRBO rentals for other parts of our trip gave us the codes the morning of the rental. We were not trying to check in early, we just wanted to have the information to share with all family members who were arriving separately. Vacasa as a third party creates obstacles in the process, it is not a benefit. We called Vacasa to get information on check-in, and were put on hold multiple times, creating a call that lasted at least 15 minutes. Upon arrival, the new electronic entrance system to all 3 units was not working, so we had to get physical keys out of the lock boxes for all 3 units. If Vacasa had told us this when we called initially, it would've been much easier. Checkout was 10am, and the morning of our departure the cleaning service arrived early and was in the studio unit at 9:45. Fortunately, the two people staying in that unit had already moved out.
The home is older, and does need to be updated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, because it accommodated our large group and the location and views were fabulous. With the cost of this rental, I would encourage the owners to make repairs and updates to reflect what they're asking travelers to pay.

Property manager (someone from Vacasa) was a disappointment. I emailed 4 times to ask if there were basic supplies (salt, pepper, sugar, coffee filters). No reply. (And turns out we had to buy salt, sugar and filters.) Never received check-in instructions so grandson crawled through a window to get the phone number of the property manager and lock box code. Horrible start to a great vacation. May I suggest that check-in instructions be sent and confirmed before the day of travel because cell service isn't always reliable when traveling. And VRBO and Vacasa need to work better together. I was confused as to which company was our agent.

Beautiful location but needs some work
The location is perfect. The house and cottage are in need of some updates. The mattress in the cottage is like sleeping on plywood. The shower needs an adjustable showerhead. The freezer of the fridge in the main house stunk horribly. Tried baking soda but didn't help. I think the whole fridge needs replacing. The pots and pans are also worn and cheap. We managed to find a few usable pans in the cottage. The living areas in both were comfortable and the fireplace worked well. Some minor improvements and this house would be awesome.

A lovely Menocino weekend
We have stayed ata the property twice now and except for a miscommunication about the updated lock box code, our stay was glorious. The TV/media was a little tough to figure out but we old folks did it and everything about the house and adjoining cottage was comfortable and enjoyable. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, the bathrooms clean, and the view magnificient. It is close to town and to the headlands trails. We are plannng on renting it again for our annual gathering in 2021!
