About this house rental
Once you arrive at the Slow M'ocean Cottage, you'll be able to do just that, slow down and relax. Our cottage is conveniently located right in the middle of town so you can walk to the beach and all of the attractions and restaurants in town. Our shed is stocked full of bikes and toys for your use. If staying in is your desire, you'll feel comfortable relaxing in the fenced backyard with a fire pit or soaking in the hot tub.
Enjoy a vacation where everything you need is at your fingertips.
No detail has been spared in accommodating this brand new construction cottage. The beds are memory foam for your comfort. You'll stay cozy with premium linens all around; from fluffy white towels and robes to the softest sheets and luxurious down comforters. Even the sofa bed mattress has been upgraded to a premium memory foam mattress. We have provided small fans for white noise in the bedrooms as the cottage is in town so you will hear car noise. The home is equipped with air conditioning so it makes sleeping more comfortable with the windows closed.
Rainy days at the beach can be just as fun when you cozy into the couch and immerse yourself in a movie on our 70inch 4k TV. There is also an Xbox with a handful of games. We also have traditional board games for classic fun.
The kitchen is large and has been appointed with all the amenities needed to cook a delicious feast including: stove, oven, refrigerator with ice maker and water, dishwasher, microwave, crock pot, Ninja blender, kuerig, 12 cup coffee pot, french press, hand mixer, teapot, oil and vinegar, many pots and pans, cookie sheets and pyrex. You're welcome to get in touch with us to check for any specific kitchen appliances or utensils. Yes, we have a wine key ;)
The bathroom is large and has plenty of hot water for the whole family provided by our on demand water heater. You're welcome to the washer and dryer (just be sure to shake the sand outside). We have also provided a premium hair dryer, soaps and an iron.
The back yard is fully fenced for your dog and children. It's a wonderful space to enjoy the fire pit while the kids play in the sand box. Our shed is stocked with long boards, life jackets, beach cruisers, helmets, coolers, croquet, folding wagon (since we're walking distance to the beach), beach chairs, sand blanket, skim boards, beach towels and last but not least....capes to hike Cape Disappointment....because you must experiences hiking in a cape at least once.
Life jackets have been provided as our beach is not safe for swimming. The rip tides and undertows claim lives every year.
We have a few things to meet the basic needs for your dog, including bowls and a leash. There is an additional $10/night fee per dogs with a max of two. This is to accommodate the extra cleaning of hair. It is expected that guests will clean up after their pet promptly after each visit to the back yard (if you know what I mean).
Please note there are cameras for security at the front door and back yard. We only check them to make sure you got in ok and if there are any problems. There is absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind inside the cottage. If you do smoke outside, we ask that you do so away from windows as we'd like everyone to be able to experience the fresh new cabin.
You will be surrounded by coffee, food, shops and entertainment at the Slow M'Ocean Cottage. You can walk up to Diamond Coffee a block away. Get ice cream across the street. Devour a delicious sandwich on homemade bread at Surfer Sands next to Diamond coffee. Eat in or order take out from Drop Anchor next door. Make a wine run 3 blocks away at Browns Coastal Corner Market. For live music and beach views; walk to ride bikes 3 blocks down the Sid Snyder Beach approach to the Pickled Fish Restaurant.
ON THE PENINSULA:
The Peninsula is a special place full of more to see than can be squeezed into one visit. The beach has an 8.5 mile discovery trail for endless exploration. Jake the Alligator man at Marsh's Free Museum is something your kids will never forget. For a scenic drive you'll delight in a cruise up the peninsula past the cranberry farms and through Surfside and Oysterville. Don't miss the museums! Lewis and Clark, cranberry, Blueberry and of course the Kite Museum. Long Beach is home of the International Kite Festival. I know the cottage has a wonderful kitchen for cooking but please oh please don't miss the wonderful food the Peninsula has to offer. It's almost impossible to eat something short of delicious here.
Just about the only thing you'll want a car for would be a hike at Cape Disappointment or to drive on the beach. You can drive on the beach during certain hours at the Sid Snyder or Bolstad approach (varies depending on season). The one thing I jump in the car for is the Salmon Sandwich and Huckleberry Lemonade (alchoholic) at the North Beach Tavern. It's about a mile and a half down Pacific. Everything else in town in walkable - or you can use a bike or long board. Don't miss the rides, go karts, arcade, Free Museum, mini golf, boardwalk along the beach, and movie theater.
Enjoy a vacation where everything you need is at your fingertips.

This spot was perfect, prime walking. The host was quick to reply and friendly. Would stay here again.

This place is great! I am a short term rental owner myself, and have very similar approach. Which is to provide top of the line, clean beautiful, comfortable accommodations that make guests feel like they couldn’t have booked a better place. I loved being able to have a safe fenced back yard for my pups. They provide absolutely everything. Listing is as advertised! 10/10 will stay again!

The Slow M'Ocean Cottage is a perfect place to get away for the weekend or longer. Located a five-minute walk to both the downtown core of Long Beach and the beach itself, the Cottage is the ideal location for easy access to entertainment and food options. The Cottage is lovingly well-maintained and very well appointed, and our family and dogs had a great relaxing and enjoying all that Long Beach had to offer. Communications with the owner were prompt and professional, and we will definitely return for another stay!

Beautiful tasteful clean house everything looked brand new, great yard, clean hot tub, clean barbecue, and a fire pit that we intended on using but didn’t find time. The decorating in this house is so gorgeous, beds were super comfortable. Plenty of space for more than just my husband and I. Every detail was covered From the kitchen being very well stocked with dishes and utensils, pot pans, and bowls to the bathroom having a little bit of everything that you probably forgot when you were packing. Super easy checkout process just clean up the house as you saw it. Start the dishwasher start the washer. Also very close to the beach, totally walkable right in the heart of town food options on every corner. I would absolutely stay again and have already told many friends about it!

Have stayed here previously and will stay here in the future. A perfect place for a kid-free vacation.

This cottage was the perfect fit for my little family! We loved that it came with so many amenities and was kid and pet friendly! We go on vacation every summer to the beach and the location of the cottage was perfect for us. There was just the right amount of privacy but still in the center of all the fun. We accidentally broke a shovel but purchased a similar replacement. Having the warm water hose allowed us to prevent sand coming in to the home which was great! My kids loved all the things that were available to them in the home, and that food was accessible right outside the door. They stated that this has been by far their favorite stay!
The only minor complaint/negative was that the bed in the bedroom near the fridge was not clean. The bedding appears to have blood like stains/ and there was a lot of pet hair between the sheet. I just didn't sleep in this bed so it wasnt that big of a deal. (No i didn't notify the owner as the positives far proceeded this)
My family definitely wants to stay here again if we weren't too much! 🙂🙃

This sweet cottage was wonderful. Everything had a new feel, the amenities were wonderful...from snacks to toiletries. The hot tub was old and the lid was terribly heavy, but that is the only negative.

Overall we had a great stay! It’s a lovely home on the main strip. Close beach access and close to many restaurants and amusements. Photos are not fully up to date in the yard with the hot tub location. Not on google maps - there are multiple food trucks across the street and not a ton of privacy in the backyard unless you are sitting. The main strip has a lot of street noise day and night. Owner communication was good through vrbo only, but no response from the recommended email address or phone messages prior to checking in. Some stains in sheets but overall, beds and sheets were comfortable. Overall, we would definitely consider staying again!

The hot tub was great and so was the firepit. We stayed with our puppers, who loved the fully fenced yard. Right in the middle of town. Easy walking to the beach, shops, and restaurants. My only disclaimer is the tub is very slick with no handles, so use with caution. We will definitely stay again! Thank you

If I could give this property more than 5 stars I would!
The house was clean and so comfortable. There were pleasantly surprising amenities that we hadn’t expected. The kids were ecstatic that there were little pockets of hot cocoa and some snacks. There were individual use containers of bathroom products that came in super handy.
The backyard was spacious and perfect for the dogs and a rinse off after a trip to the beach. There was a hose with hot water in the back yard so we were actually able to hose off after clamming.
The hot tub was great and a welcome treat in the chilly, windy weather.
The location of the house is perfect. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. I can’t say enough good things about this house. In addition, Sarah, the host was super responsive with my endless questions!!
I can’t wait to come back here again!!

We had a truly amazing weekend. This was our first experience in renting through Vrbo. The home was so clean and cozy. We will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank for hosting such a great property. We are grateful for such a great time spent in such a cute town!

Really nice layout and cute design choices. Hottub and firepit are a great outdoor option here to relax and unwind. Would definitely stay again.

The place was clean & very comfortable. Anything you might need can be found within the house. We really enjoyed our stay & wished we could stay longer. Next time!!!

We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect. Convenient to beach, shopping, restaurants, and other activities.

Great location loved that the food carts were just across the street! Everything is new and clean the beds were comfy and the dogs loved the size of the backyard.

The cottage was very cute. There were 4 of us that stayed. Great location to beach. Do be careful of door handle as it will burn your hand if it has been in the sun, happened to all 4 of us at some point. I would maybe advertise for 4 people not 6 as there is not enough seating for more then 4 people. Will come back for sure

My family and I enjoyed our stay in Long Beach. The house was cozy and very well stocked. The fenced back yard was great for traveling with our dog. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I came with our 8yr old twin boys and we had the best time! The house was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked; it had everything we needed. The location was awesome as we were able to walk to the beach, and dinner every night. We also brought our small dog so the backyard was nice for him.

My friends and I had a great weekend relaxing, playing games, and being able to enjoy the beach in a prime area. It is well worth it. The only other thing I would do is bring a foam mattress topper because the beds are a little uncomfortable

Everything was walking distance so naturally our dog had a blast while we were on the boardwalk and beach. Even getting back home all he wanted to do was run around and play fetch. 100% recommend this space as even the drive to long beach was worth the 2 hours.

The house and accommodations were wonderful. The only downside was how dirty the hot tub was.

Had a wonderful stay at this lovely property. The location was excellent and the property was very well kept and up-to-date. Definitely would highly recommend.

I highly recommend this property--Not only was it very private, but it was also very clean and organized!
Only thing I would suggest to the owners, is replacing the Hot-tub lid. Due to its weight and being water logged, It was very difficult to deal with even with 3 people trying to put it back on.

It does seem a bit expensive but a very tidy home we enjoyed our stay

We very much enjoyed this property, so convenient to all the local spots, a nice open air concept, beautiful backyard, and so many little touches that made it that much more enjoyable. Which was great because the weather was stormy most of the time so we really enjoyed relaxing and being cozy in this home.

Something to take into consideration is the location. Your smack dab in downtown & if the blinds are open it feels like a fish bowl. I didnt feel safe at night. The shed was entirely unorganized & looked like somebody had thrown everything in there, was not easily accessible by any means. The keys hanging by the door arent labeled that would save some time walking outside with all the keys. I can appreciate having cameras for security purposes but I personally prefer no cameras watching the hot tub - that deserves some privacy. The home is beautiful inside & super cozy. It has everything you need & things you dont. The snacks left for us were enjoyable & very thoughtful. Easy to chat with the host & easy checking in & out.

What a great place to stay. Right in town with basically no neighbors. Can't wait to go back.

The cottage was exactly as it appeared online. Very clean and decorated perfectly. No complaints about this place at all! Perfectly located just off the main “strip” so we were able to walk everywhere.

My wife and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for an anniversary getaway. If you are going to the Long Beach area, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer, more convenient place. The cottage is all pretty new, good sized and had all the amenities we needed. The fenced in back yard for the dogs was great as well. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of walking and climbing.
It is just off the main street through town so it takes 5 minutes or less to get anywhere. We rarely noticed any traffic noise. If I ever decided I wanted to go back to Long Beach, I would stay here again.

Property was well kept and comfortable. The Jacuzzi was nice and warm but Im not sure it had been cleaned that day as there was a little debris in the water. Comforable beds and furniture. Well stocked and generous.

I really wanted to enjoy this property, but the host is absolutely useless. I tried contacting them in writing on the first day to address some minor issues, but they ignored me. If you want to gamble and hope that you have no problems, go for it. I don't think we'll be staying here again.
Good things:
* Shower head is mounted about 7 feet up, so I didn't have to crouch to shower
* Nice modern floor plan
* Many thoughtful additions included (coffee, big TV, Xbox, etc.)
Not so good things:
* Sand box was not maintained and had flowers planted in it (outright lies in the pictures and description)
* Ice maker was broken with ice melted and frozen to the tray
* Description said fans were included for white noise, but they were missing (and were definitely needed for the road noise!)
* Existing damage to the property was not fixed (towel rack was ripped off the wall)
* Some of the included items were well out of date (creamer was very old)
* Some basic items missing (we had to buy Kleenex / tissues)
* Internet + Wi-Fi was provided, but it was slow (good enough for streaming on the TV, though!)
Overall, I really want to like this property. Unfortunately, an absent host really made me regret dealing with VRBO.

It is a very nice property, it was perfect for us, and we could find the BarBQ and texted the owner, she got back to us in a timely manner and we were able to grill our Tuna and Rib steaks!

If you're looking for convenience to beach and downtown, the location is good but be prepared to listen to lots of traffic. The cottage was cute and clean but there were a few mildly inconvenient things like the water from the fridge was so slow and the fridge made weird noises. The hot tub was not really hot when we arrived and couldn't seem to get hot unless left closed for hours but then would cool down pretty quickly when in use which was disappointing.
Best wishes to the hosts but I don't think my family would book here again.

Everything was welcoming and top notch. Super clean, stocked to the max with almost anything that one might need. Highly recommend this vacation rental.

We had a great stay in Long Beach! Property was very clean, had plenty of extras (handy when we all forgot our toothbrushes), awesome kitchen for cooking. We loved the hot tub most of all. House is central to everything in Long Beach. We had a wonderful stay!

This property was anything but slow m'ocean 😊 It was one of the nicest most comfortable places we have stayed. Plenty of space for our family and with a fenced in backyard was perfect for our dogs. Definitely a place I have already raved and suggested to friends and family. Only downside was the fridge filtered water poured out soo slow and the hottub could have used more water and the people working the taco shack stared at us the entire time we unpacked, we even waved at them and they just kept staring...... Definitely not deal breakers or reasons to not want to stay again. I also loved how close it is in town. Walked everywhere and didn't have to fight parking.

We were right on the main road in town. Super close to stores and the beach. The house is well stocked and everything is pretty new. The hot tub was great and the garage had everything you’d need at the beach and for kids and the adults! There was even special dog treats there!
There is always a negative to being in town where there is lots of noise but the pluses outweigh the street noise!

Great Place and Location
Overall I would give the rating a 4.5 but that’s not an option. This was a great place. Just had issues with the internet not working which meant the Smart TV didn’t work either. The grass needed cutting and the kids couldn’t really run around since they wore shorts and the grass wasn’t cut.

Cute and comfy!
This property was exactly as shown on the listing. We loved- quick access to downtown & beach; the fenced yard for our dog; hot tub; fire pit; spacious rooms; comfortable beds; well stocked kitchen; more than enough towels of all sizes and comfy robes!
We will definitely book for our next visit to the area.
