About this villa rental
Tucked away at the end of a quiet road, yet barely a mile from Radda, one of Chianti’s main market towns, Angolino is a peaceful but well-connected bolt hole. This unusual property, well-suited to a family or small group of friends, spreads out across one level, its roof doubling as a veranda capturing both the sun and views across the surrounding hills, carpeted in vineyards and olive groves – an inspiring place to hatch a plan about a tour of the area.
Inside, this long, low villa revolves around the lounge, kitchen and dining room, off which lie good-sized bedrooms. But don’t assume you’ll be on top of one another – there’s plenty of space. Eye-catching features include the funnel-shaped brick fireplaces and herringbone terracotta tiled floors, while comfy furnishings and hand-picked art and ornaments lend a homely feel. Outside, a terrace wraps around the villa, with a shaded area reserved for al fresco dining. Close by, the inviting oval-shaped private pool is set with sun loungers for lazy afternoons spent snoozing beneath a good book.
The potential of this quirky one-storey villa has been maximised, with inspiring ideas such as turning the roof into a veranda to catch the sun and the stunning views. The close proximity of the lower terrace to the pool will be a bonus for adults who need to keep a watchful eye on little ones at play. And the fact that the villa is in walking distance of Radda is a real bonus.
