No key in front door - had to use back. Host didn't reply to any whatsapp messages. Lock pad on room hazel was very tough to turn making it difficult to get in

I never got to Hillcrest I was moved to Archer Road instead which was the wrong side from where I wanted to be. Hopefully I go to the place That I originally booked.
Was transferred to Archer Road at the last minute. If I wanted to go there I would've booked there. The room was ok

I liked that the place was warm. That's literally it
Where do I begin....
The other residents we stayed with DID NOT adhere to the house rules. My partner who has cancer. Wound up with foof poisoning as a result of the other guests not washing the cutlery thoroughly after themselves. The bath was never cleaned after they used it. The noise was unbearable
Our keypad for the bedroom did not function. Had to leave the door ajar, risking our valuables potentially being stolen or lost.
There was a lot I did not like about this property. Myself and my partner couldn't stay for the nine nights. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable. The bedroom wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Dust under the bed and in other areas.
.
By the time we had left. Police had shown up at the property. All in all. I won't be staying here again. Total waste of money. Brought this to the attention of the landlord.
There was one fridge that did not function. We weren't aware of that. Plus the other guests used up the second fridge stocked it to the brim leaving no room for our groceries.
Very disappointed. Hoping I get a partial refund

The little village is pretty. We enjoy the nice old houses. There are several restaurants for your choice.
The following points of inconvenience at the lodging apartment Oak are so severe, that we leave Hillcrest Lodge in Stevenage after the first night.
1. The bed mattress is very bad, because my wife and me feel the innerspring in our back and spine of ourself ..... you feel some single wires in your back .... and if you role further you feel an other single wire in your back. So I could not sleep and my wife could not sleep well, although we are small persons with body mass 65 kg up to 70 kg (ca. 143 til 156 pounds) ........
2. The offer text for the apartment lists all equipment components, for example a shared bathroom and a >kitchen< and a >refrigerator<. So we thought, that it is a not-shared kitchen and a private refrigerator. Then we see the reality: There is only a shared kitchen with a refrigerator: Every other lodging guest can use the kitchen and the refrigerator. So this is definitely a mistakable description.

The place is poorly maintained - building and surrounding grounds are filthy. Chose to go elsewhere!!

The property is decorated to a good standard, the kitchen is exceptional (even though I didn't use it) and the bathrooms are also very well decorated. On the whole, it is a neat property inside.
The listing stated there would be tea and coffee facilities and a microwave in the room, but that was not the case. There is mention that can play billiards, table tennis, and mini-golf at Hillcrest Lodge.....I did not see any of this. Perhaps it was a typo, but I booked this place based on this information.
The bed was very uncomfortable and the metal springs really dug into you. I get that the place is cheap, but it wouldn't harm to get a new mattress or a mattress topper.
The room was advertised as a double room, but it was more a large single. The double bed did not feel like a standard double.
There was some confusion over the front door and room combination as I received two emails, with different bits of information.
The front door lock box could do with replacing as the latch to open the box is not worn down so needs a bit of fiddling to push it down and open the latch.
The bits below are nothing to do with the landlord, just a shared space issue.
Whilst the place is very cheap, it comes with the issue of sharing with other people. In my instance, 'Olly' and his friend s stumbled in at 2 am on Saturday morning and had a chat, one upstairs and the rest downstairs. They had been drinking and left half-drunk wine glasses and a bottle in the kitchen, which was there at 6 pm later that day. The toilet had also been left a bit 'dirty'.
It was my first experience booking a shared space, however, on the back of this experience, I would say, spend the extra £20 - £30 a night and have your privacy. It also felt a little intimidating to have a group of raucous drunk people yelling outside my door and I will not be doing this again.

we had a small tv with cable, there was a shower and bathroom which was okay. the house was cool, we had a basic room that was comfy and the property was close to Knebworth park. cheap and cheerful. clean and the door codes are worked.
I would definitely stay again. 🙂 Thanks.
not enough toilet roll. I had a bag full of pocket tissues so we were fine. ha.
7.0 / 10.0
clean and easy access to property, plenty of parking around and plenty of items in kitchen to use to make dinner, drinks etc
the bed in the standard double room (Pine) could do with a new bed completely mattress very uncomfortable and was only a small double as size of room too small for normal size double.

it’s misleading information. booked to stay for 3 nights but had to stay the night as I didn’t have a choice but checked out in the morning. it was like a backpacker lodge
not clean, it’s filthy. the double room was only 66 sqft and the bad was 3’6”.

The room was different to the picture I was shown. I paid for a large room but was given a tiny box room.
The landlord even called me after to tell me I hadn't evacuated the property whilst I had carefully cleaned and left.
Not the best customer service.
Better communication needed. This is purely a hostel not for professional people. Fridge didn't work. No cutlery.

The freedom to move around large comfortable ground floor of the house, having cold storage for food the use of a washing machine.excellent shower downstairs....outside space.
Broke every fingernail of my right hand using the entry system. The bed was very poor quality and uncomfortable. The lights in the hall and stairway never worked we had to share with some unscrupulous people. ( My wife's watch was stolen from the shared bathroom) the television although large only showed NETFLIX.
