Marina Cove 602, Flamingo attractions
Marina Cove is located just on the edge of downtown Flamingo, within easy walking distance from the restaurants, bars and shops of this delightful little town. One of Flamingo’s great attractions is the stunning visual impression that arises from its unusual topography. A hilly green peninsula known as the North Ridge juts dramatically into the Pacific Ocean, covered in high-end condos and vacation rentals. Marina Cove is located at the base of this ridge, which creates a dividing line between Flamingo’s two beaches, Playa Potrero and Playa Flamingo. A world-class marina is currently under construction a short distance from Marina Cove, replacing a marina that closed down in 2003. The sheltered, scenic Potrero Bay is a natural stopping point for yachts and fishing boats between marinas in Papagayo and Herradura. For anyone who may be interested in acquiring investment property, this new marina presents an unusual opportunity because it’s expected to lift property values all over town.
Flamingo was developed mostly by foreigners for tourism. It lacks the common Costa Rican touches of a downtown plaza with a church and soccer field, but it’s a modern, immaculate and easily walkable town. Every kind of adventure tour imaginable can be booked here or near here, including fishing, diving, sunset cruises, turtle tours, ziplining, whitewater rafting and much more.
Marina Cove 602 in Flamingo is a great base from which to explore this region, and you’ll like the price too.

The Neighborhood:
Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo.
Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences.
A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz.
Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store.
Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.
Getting Around:
Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.
We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.
Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.
Other Things to Note:
Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification. Before your stay begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking. You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.

You continue to address me by my mothers name, despite my asking you four times to correct the name.
You booked us in a condo without a pool, where piles of rubble, cinder blocks, rocks, dirt, workers, tractor, etc greeted us. From now forward I will be sending your website to SPAM. If you are too big and busy to address me by my name, you are not who I want to work with.

My first trip to Costa Rica. Beautiful place and people. Excellent value accommodations with charm and great local vibe.

We arrived and checked in. Parking was non existent near the building. The biggest issue was construction occuring in the unit next to ours. It was loud and very disruptive. We ended up leaving and advised the property management company why we couldn't stay. Asked for a partial refund. The property company originally responded saying they would investigate and then advised us the the construction was "short term" and has since that email completely ghosted us. We ended up having to find new accomodations which meant we paid for two properties for 12 days.

Beautiful views, easy access to beach, washer/dryer was super helpful, lots of room, never felt unsafe, short walk to shops and food. We would stay again!

The view from the sunroom was spectacular! The beach is small, but very private feeling. It's only shared by these two buildings of condos. You can walk to a few restaurants and shops at the marina.

We wanted a quiet beach experience, not a touristy “shop til you drop” location. This location fit the bill nicely. A golf cart or car is pretty much required though, otherwise food options are limited. The rental is from an agency and not an individual, and as a result there are more services available. We opted for them to stock our fridge, and they did a nice job selecting items we requested. There is a semi-private beach just out the back (wave sounds are constant and soothing!), but it is kind of rocky for swimming. Doable, but you have to watch your step. The nearby marina is new, upscale, and still has some construction going on. We prefer to stay closer to the local residents when we travel (not resort goers, thank you) so next time we would probably stay elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean this spot is bad, on the contrary it is very nice. There are several beautiful beaches nearby, some more secluded than others. Oh, if you do stay at this spot, there are some fun catamaran cruises nearby.

Property is a great location by the marina, and near the CPI Spanish school where my daughter took class for the week. We were happy with our golf cart rental from the property management company, easy way to get around locally for the week. Would have loved if there were some beach chairs or equipment included. Would definitely stay here again.

I can’t say enough good about this property, the area, and the customer service. Was better than I expected and could not have been a better first stay in Costa Rica ! It’s amazingly quiet amongst basically everything you could need for your stay.

Setting couldn't have been better. The unit furniture not the most comfortable and lacking beach accessories, no beach chairs.

On the morning of arrival I received an email that this unit has maintenance issues and I was being moved to another unit (via the hosts, Special Places of Costa Rica). I stayed 3 units down, also on the ground floor in #605.
The view from the condo is amazing and there’s a little beach you can walk down to from the property. The condo had a great outside patio with chairs and fans.
The kitchen was well-stocked and made cooking easy. The washer and dryer was great to have as well.
The rooms were comfortable. One had a king and the other a queen and twin bed. There were closets to hang your clothes and I discovered 3 beach chairs in one to use. They had extra towels and linens if needed as well.
I was very happy staying here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. However, I was in another unit with the same host.
