Bella struttura, accogliente, pulita e ordinata
4.1
Fantastic place and accommodation with very nice and large bungalows with the Forrest and animals right outside the windows. Familiar and very friendly staff, and good food from the chef. Limited numbers of cabins means familiar atmosphere between the guest. Very skilled and knowledgable boat tour guides and great service. We saw the “Big 5” - miniature elegant, orangutaues, monkeys, crocodiles, Nosemonkeys and Hornbill birds.
Note - there is a short walk of 10 min. from the lodge to the rivers.

The guides were good. Saw some nice animals.
The recorded swift music was too loud. Would have been nice to enjoy the natural music of nature. The room and some of the activities were overpriced. The ceiling fan fell on me during the night. The beds were not comfortable. The AC was leaking.
4.1
Location-not on the river but close enough - a short walk. Good selection of activities. Guides excellent. Nice common area. Good meeting fellow travellers.
All very good for a jungle outdoor type of experience but bear in mind this is not a hotel .

Friendly staffs, not far from the Kinabatangan river.
Is not easy to look for food, especially children. There's no restaurant nearby as the resort is isolated. Without transport will be hard. Suggest to confirm and pre-arrange meal with resort before visiting.

Lovely garden surroundings, very clean rooms. Daily breakfast was good. Set meals were fresh and clean. Nice variety over the 3 days I was there. Short walk to the river for tours- was never an issue.
All great!

Room was clean, comfortable bed/linens and great aircon and fan for cooling options. Food was good, portions were huge and lots of veggies and fruit for lunch/dinner. Our boat guide Irfan was amazing at spotting animals and we were lucky to see the Borneo Big 5. The ladies running the lodge are all so lovely, highly recommend their hospitality. Bring lots of bug spray for the mozzies and don’t expect WiFi in your chalet - it’s the jungle!
I didn’t mind the walk to the jetty for the cruise at all, it helped me get my steps in! But it’s probably not suitable for people with mobility issues.

The property is in a small village near the river. You have to walk about 500m to the boats. The staff are nice , but I felt that some of the offered tours , they discouraged you from participating in.
Nice local food served

Everything was reasonable
Strange atmosphere. Food was just about okay…

Everything super clean, delicious food and very friendly staff!

Hosts were really friendly and the safari excursions were wonderful. Ifan in particular was a great guide. If you want to get close to nature, this is the place.
The food was terrible- just a real lack of care. For the last two days of our stay we were the only guests so instead of two courses (with watermelon as the second course), we had one course only, clearly cooked hours earlier so served totally cold. Even our fried egg for breakfast looked at least three hours old. I totally expected local dishes and would have enjoyed those but the complete lack of care and clearly a poorer offer when we were the only guests spoiled what would otherwise have been a great, authentic experience.
4.1
The location is ideal for hikes and boat tours and we even saw an orang outan in the lodge!
The staff is a family and you feel the tight knit community and they are all very nice. The food (we had all our dinners and breakfasts) is homemade and really good.
The activities you can book with the lodge are really worth it, especially the boat tour, our guide had eagle eyes and spotted so many animals.
It could use better maintenance and cleaning. Eg.the AC unit was dripping, there was a kettle but not proper tea cups (only plastic cups), there was a good amount of dust in our room and we could see some parts of wooden ceiling were being eaten up. Also the walls between rooms are only thin wood so there's no noise insulation, it's ok if you have no neighbours but could be a nuisance.
Despite all this we slept well and had a good time, but still think it's a shame they don't make that extra effort to maintain and clean better.

4.1
- gute Kommunikation betreffend Check In

Not much other than excellent river cruise.
Lots: Property not on a river as suggested from adds. In the bush but not an attractive location. Cabins 2 to 5 on lower level - cabins 5 to 8 up a very difficult hill to climb. I had # 7 - fell once climbing the hill. Food not very good - not much of it - food that should have been hot was cold. Cabins are duplexes - thin wall - can here what is going on in next room. Staff are friendly and try to be helpful but not trained in the hospitality industry.
4.1
Oxbow walk and rivercruise were good. Staff were good and attentive and helpful. Tour guide was fantastic and the service staff were very good
Bed bugs in beds. Food was plain and repetative and not filling and no wifi or cell reception. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Air con needs service
4.1
The breakfast was good and one member of our group has allergies and the chef provided a separate dish for all meals which were enjoyable. All meals had fresh local vegetables and accompanied by one meat or fish dish. Beer and soft drinks available to buy with your meal. Staff are lovely and very helpful . Activities were very good, night walks, boat trips and batik. The guides were knowledgeable and we were lucky seeing an orangutan, lots of different monkeys, crocodiles and much more. We really enjoyed making our batiks with the help of the lovely staff. Would recommend to friends and return when we can.
The lack of wifi was the only problem that we had.
4.1
Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice rainforest location, 10 minute walk from river. Saw lots of wild life from the common area. Very helpful with organisation of river cruises etc. 80MYR per person, per cruise. Sunset and sunrise option. Water refill station at the main area.
A/C was dripping water during our stay, notified staff with no follow up. Only there one night though.
4.1
The staff were fantastic and made the stay bearable. Food was okay but a bit limited. Internet only available in reception area and not the rooms.
It's further away from the river than expected. I know it's the rain forest but no water on the first day for toilets or showering and wasn't pleasant.
4.1
The staff were amazing, Azla river cruises were so fun and we loved every minute! The staff were so helpful helping us with our car battery needing charge!!! They were so helpful and we are so thankful for that! The rooms were comfy too we loved seeing the monkeys just outside our room. The food was amazing the beef rendang was absolutely incredible!!!
Just a tiny thing, the Wi-Fi at the cafe isn’t great. There are too many people on it that you can’t get on unless you’re the first one in the cafe. We didn’t have signal either at all, Luckily we had a car we went and got signal as we needed to book our next place. But only that tiny thing everything else was amazing!!!

Good enough location and property. . Food was good but served lukewarm as the other travellers say here. A range of activities to keep busy and Carol (I think his name was) was a good and charming guide. He had his own style - quite chilled but knowledgeable. We saw proboscis monkeys, hornbills, macaques and a baby croc. Even spotted pygmy elephants on the way to the lodge.
The property is only four years old but the common areas seemed a bit run down. Be prepared to climb a steep hill to get to some of the rooms. The activities were quite pricey compared to Sepilok but seems that is the standard in Kinabatangan. Food schedules felt a bit strict. We felt maybe one night would be enough since there is not much to do if you've done the river cruise and a jungle walk.
4.1
The accomodation property was nice. We were lucky and saw lots of wildlife on the river.
Generally really poor service, no one seemed to know what was going on and communication was very bad. Our room wasn't made on arrival and it took hours to fix (including them giving us the key to someone else's room at one point).
The room was uncomfortable, full of mosquitos and very thin walls to next door. We could hear everything. The food was really bad too. We actually left after one night of our stay because we didn't like the place.
The river cruise was also poorly organized with almost no communication. Overall bilit is very dirty and not a very nice place. We had a look in sekau before leaving and it is much nicer and better organized.
Overall KWL was really overpriced and not a nice place to stay.
4.1
Location, and the friendly staff. In particular Irfan (front office) who was really lovely and very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. Azlan (King of the jungle, our guide). Young and lots of fun and knowledgeable He’s got eyes like a Hawke when it comes to spotting wildlife.
The place was rustic and basic but very clean and comfortable surrounded by bush. We even watch monkeys from the dinning balcony. We missed out on a chalet booking so ended up in a triple room, own bathroom. We would have stayed longer had there been any vacancies. Breakfast food basic, lunch and dinner very tasty but basic and lots of it. You can also get a cold beer there. We didn’t go there for the food, so to us it was good. Overall it was one of the nicest experiences so far, due to the staff and the other lovely, interesting tourist we met. Didn’t want to leave as we had made some lovely friends and the staff were so nice and welcoming. Yours were good. Saw more on the afternoon trip, enjoyed our stomp through the jungle to the lake with Azlan. Loved the place and the people.
Nothing, the property was what we expected it to be. They could put a little more choice into the breakfast. But what we had filled our belly.
4.1
Clean, easy to get on the boat tours
Tea and coffee always available
You don't need to pay for the hill walk, it's very easy to do alone .
Lack of Internet connection meant difficult to find connections for next locations and no where else to eat apart from their kitchen (although food was fine )
You can barter with the price of taxis a bit, we paid 300 from sandakan and then 250 to sepilok
4.1
Friendly staff including enthusiastic knowledgeable guides for river boat cruises
Food was good
No view of river and no wifi in rooms so waiting time between morning and afternoon cruise somewhat tedious
4.1
The food was great, the staff were great the location was great
When events were cancelled there was nothing yo do, they needed other options. If you can't do a night walk in one place why not another. People pay a lot to get to there they want to be seeing or doing things.
4.1
staff were all very nice. Azlan was a terrific river safari guide; his enthusiasm rubbed off on everyone and he’s knowledgeable and a great spotter.
