Superb B@B

Everything that an independent B&B should be. Welcoming, not stingy with extras such as good coffee and plentiful biscuits and mini chocolate bars in room. Decorative standards are high (as are the ceilings) and breakfast was among the best I’ve had. A delight.

Super place, would not hesitate to use again

Genial host. Beautifully cooked breakfast, comfy bed & easy to use shower. Large TV lounge for exclusive use of the 2 or 4 guests in the party. Plenty of local guides to browse as well.

Strong spring on bedroom door needs adjusting, otherwise perfect.

We will definitely return! An amazing place to stay

Gowanlea is a home from home, the property is beautiful, the rooms are so comfortable… the extras provided are exceptional… teas, coffees, snacks in the lounge and in the bedrooms… we even had cake left for us one day (which was delicious). The hosts go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely, good selection (also had extras as well as what was ordered) parking at rear of property is an added bonus. Good location.

The property was highly accessible and comfortable. The house had many decorations to make us feel included and at home. The house even had a fireplace that warmed us up during the chilly nights. The television had many channels including Netflix that enabled us to enjoy a variety of movies and films. The place was also great for avid readers as there were books and infographics about Scotland and it’s history .

Exceptional, clean, comfortable, well furnished and friendly.

Gowanlea Heights is extremely well positioned in a quiet area just outside the the town centre of Campbeltown making it peaceful and very convenient for all amenities. John and David (proprietors) made us feel extremely welcome from the outset. We were met with a friendly smile and warming welcome. John showed us around the property which was clean, well furnished and comfortable. A nice touch was the availability of drinks and snacks in the living room which you could help yourself to. Of particular use was the provided web information, recommending local restaurants and places of interest. Breakfast was absolutely superb, a large selection of food available to cater for all tastes. Although we chose to eat out in the evening, there was also the option of purchasing and eating takeaway food with the guest house, with crockery and cutlery provided. Parking is provided at the rear of the property.

The only thing, I could possibly make comment on with this section, is that the bedroom door closer had a little quirk to.

Absolutely fantastic, more like your own apartment than a B&B

Delightful luxury accomodation with exceptional hosts

This is the most wonderful Bed & Breakfast. I can not recommend it enough, the hosts are exceptional and the bedrooms and living room are a delight. I have never felt so at home and welcome as I did at Gowanlea.

Wonderful!

This was the most valuable and luxurious staying I've ever experienced. Especially I really loved the breakfast. I don't have enough vocabularies to explain how it was so delicious. Also many notes made us happier because foreign tourists (like us) don't much know about etiquettes in the UK.

Best B&B ever !

Excellent accommodation and perfect hosts. Very friendly with the most generous supply of cakes, biscuits, crisps and more all included 😀 Amazing breakfast which included real honey from their beehive in their back garden. Do not hesitate to stay here you will not be disappointed !!

John was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Goodies were constantly being topped up which our little boy loved and it had all the little extras you could want. The breakfast was tasty and the parking is free

Possibly the best b and b we've ever stayed in - top notch!

This was a b and b that really went the extra mile. The property was characterful, the host extremely helpful, it seemed that everything had been thought of and provided to make our stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. Lots of nibbles were made available. Very welcome for two hungry cyclists!

We loved everything about our stay at Gowanlea Heights! The room was perfect (extremely clean, comfortable and had everything you could ever need), the hosts were exceptional and the food was wonderful!

probably the best b&b in western Scotland

it's one of those places that the number 10, do injustice for the place we booked the entire house for 1 night and the only fault is ours for staying for 1 night the hosts did anything they could to make our stay better the beds were great, the shower, superb, great living rooms, all kinds of treats and extras

Everything! We were absolutely bowled over by how spacious & comfortable it was. The house is beautiful & our bedroom had everything we could possibly need, as did the bathroom. We had the lounge for our sole use & again it had everything you anyone possibly wish for…& more!

Delightful!

Perfect in every way. Spacious rooms and your own private lounge/breakfast room! I can not believe the amount of thought that has gone into the needs of guests, everything was catered for in abundance. The owners were very friendly and informative and prepared a wonderful breakfast.

Even better the expected, the room and location was beautiful and super cozy, the owners took care of every small detail you can think of for making the stay beyond perfect. John the owner gave us an outstanding hospitality and even helped us book a restaurant in the town before our arrival :)

Amazing stay in Campbeltown

Absolutely amazing and warm place to stay. Could not have asked for anything more. Close to distilleries, restaurants, pubs and the water. Hosts were fantastic!

A Hidden Gem!

Really spacious room and facilities. Attention to detail was outstanding. Nothing was missed. There was lots of snacks and drinks available whenever and the breakfast was tasty. Location was great as just a couple of minutes from the Main Street.
