Warm welcome, easy access code, amazing location

The spectacular view from the patio made the steep climb to get there worthwhile. Our host was unable to secure a porter for our bags when we arrived, so graciously assisted us himself and prearranged a porter for our departure.
Curtains where the main bed was were thin and let all outside light in - blackout curtains or shades in that area would be a nice addition.

location and view
there wasn’t a stable hot water stream in the shower, it went on and off.
the apartment was dirty, hair in the shower and dusty floor. we had only one toilet paper roll and asked for another one, the owner brought only the day after.
he didn’t make up our bad or changed the towels, just took the garbage.
the internet is very bad and kept disconnecting.
I don’t recommend staying there.

Loved everything; location, apartment and the balcony with amazing views. Sun lit up the houses across in the evening and close to taking a dip i the water. Felt like we could not have found a better place in Cinque terre 😍👌

The view from the room was unbelievable; right over the harbour. We could not have asked for better. Our host Roberto did everything he could to make our experience a good one, including adjusting his schedule to meet us when we had delayed and missed trains. The room was on two floors with a double bed on one floor and a surprisingly comfortable pull-out sofa bed on the other. We've marked the location of the flat in red in the attached photos. One of the photos also shows the path up to the flat.
Very minor thing - no curtains on the bedroom window. We used a bedspread to block the morning light. You can see the bedspread in one of the photos from the outside :-)
There are also MANY, MANY steps all through Cinque Terre. This is not a criticism of the flat at all, it's just that travelers need to be prepared. There are probably about 100 steps between the train station and the flat. If you have mobility issues or only have a massive suitcase, maybe consider somewhere flatter.

the excellent location (apart from all the steps you need to carry your luggage up and down, but it was worth it once we got there) and the large terrace overlooking the sea and town below
the Wi-Fi was very poor to non-existent. there was apparently coverage but we weren’t getting anything from it

stairs are trying but you get used to them

Were were met in town by the ferry, our host was friendly and gracious. Everything was as expected and the views were magnificent. We couldn't have been closer to the see. The room was small, about the size of a standard hotel room, the bathroom was a decent size and the balcony was sufficiently large enough to lounge. The balcony faces north, so while you don't get the sunset view, you are able to sit out on the balcony into the evening.
The Stairs. Now while I say this - if you are coming to Riomaggiore you are going to do stairs. The question isn't so much if, it is more "how many". We stayed (two couples) in two different locations in Riomaggiore and this location had the least amount of stairs for a penthouse apartment. Do not bring large luggage. Not only are there stairs, they are not easily done with even small bags. We re-packed into backpacks and a small portable duffle we brought and that was very helpful. I saw some people struggling through the streets with their large wheeled and small wheeled carry-ons. If you are not prepared to hump your bags up four or five flights of stairs or more - don't bring them.
From the boat you are looking at 3 or flights of stairs up and then back down to get to the port. You then have 3 flights up to get to the house. Then inside you have 2 tight flights up to your room.
From the Train, you are a 5 minute walk (depending on where you are coming from - you might have 2 flights of stairs to go over the train tracks). Then 4 flights of stairs down to the port - then up. There is also a route from the train station along the coast which has many more stairs for the adventure seekers.

this is the best location possible in Riomaggiore, right next the sea.
If you don’t feel like going out for dinner, you can buy local products and wine in near by stores and have dinner on the balcony, and you’ll still be able to feel the great vibe this place has.
The apartment is walking distance from the train station, and the amazing host Roberto will pick you up there (you can’t really find the entrance to the apartment if it’s your first time there).
I would definitely (and probably will) stay there in the future.
Not much to say here, but my suggestion would be adding a coffee machine and some small device to heat up food, as you do feel tempted to have dinner on the balcony.

location was best! the apartment has a lot of space over 2 levels. Everything was in good shape.
There are 2 apartments, we were lucky to be in the one further from the sea, it has a bigger balcony and slightly better view. the steps going up and the entrance have a cool midievil vibe that we loved. there are a few platforms overlooking the sea on the stairs, for taking a break if you need to. tThe bedroom had a Juliette balcony.
The upper level with living area, kitchen and bathroom, theres to A/C. Lower level with bedroom has no toilet, so a trip up the stairs in the mid of night. I would still stay again though.

A lovely and helpful host, even gave us the room before the official check-in time because we were already in the village, helped us with the luggage. The location of the apartment is perfect, just above the bay, a stunning balcony that is worth everything! Large and well equipped, perfect view

Everything. Starting with the host, he met us next to the apartment to show us the apartment and give us the keys. He was very welcoming. The apartment was very comfortable and cozy. The terrace was astonishing as you have the view directly in front of the port and sea. It was a really positive place and we would definitely book there again.
The only thing we didn't like about our visit is reaching the apartment with our luggage. We were lucky that we packed light, but if someone had 2 large pieces of luggage and they cant carry them down and up the stairs, you will find it as a workout. To find the house is not easy as well.

We loved staying at Pepita di Rio! The apartment has a top location and a superb terrace overlooking the beautiful harbour of Riomaggiore.. perfect for relaxing, sipping coffee in the mornings or having a drink after a full day of hiking in Cinque Terre. The place was very clean, spacious and had all amenities we needed. Roberto was super friendly/helpful, responded quickly to our questions and he gave us tons of wonderful recommendations for restaurants, etc. We also appreciated having a parking space for our car, which is not easy to find in this area... Yes, you need to climb some stairs to reach the apartment but renting this place, staying in Riomaggiore and enjoying the stunning views from the terrace made our trip truly special. We can only recommend!
That we had to leave, sniff.. Also, be careful, one day the wind blew the tablecloth off the table and that way we broke an espresso cup.. Hence, please make sure to not leave any glasses, etc outside during the day/night..

The terrace is outstanding and you can hear the sound of the ocean with the doors to the terrace open. Gorgeous views right on the sea.
The steps to get there are a bit steep but so are all the steps in Cinque Terre.

Location is amazing - straight above the sea. You can hear the waves while sleeping - amanzing experience.
Bedroom is really big, bed comfortable, huge closet. Upstairs there is a small kitchen, living room, bathroom, and huge terrace with outstanding view.
Contact with the owner was really nice and easy.
The only bad thing was that the toilet is upstairs - you need to climb on very steep stairs (I've hurt my head several times while walking there at night). But there is nothing that could be done with this I guess.

The view from the terrace was brilliant and it is not far from the station and the ferry. It was on 2 levels which suited my daughter and myself. She slept on the sofa bed upstairs but it was comfortable. Our host was very helpful.
No toiletries so bring your own.

Great location. Stunning views.
Roberto was super lovely and accomodating.
Had to pay cash which was a little tricky!
