"Where The Buffalo Rooms" a studio apartment situated up on a bluff above the town of Gardiner, Montana with amazing views of the historic Yellowstone Arch, Electric Peak and the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
Our walk-out studio apartment comes equipped with all the comforts of home including a pillow-top, queen bed, full bathroom with tub and hand-held shower head and a full kitchen. What we love about our home is that it is "in town" without being down on the main street. Our secluded lot is located up on the hill, about a five minute walk to downtown Gardiner where you will find shopping, restaurants, raft companies and more! The studio has an outside patio and lawn directly by the unit. Barbecue your dinner while admiring the view! There is private parking and a separate gated entry down to the unit. Our home is located up a dirt road, hill. Winter reservations will need an All-Wheel drive vehicle to be sure of access, even though the owner plows daily. Exterior security cameras are present on the property.
We keep our reservation calendar updated to the minute and our description on this page is accurate. So if you feel this is the spot for your next vacation and your dates are available on our calendar, you are welcome to book directly without contacting us (use Instant Booking option). Just follow VRBO's process with your credit card. We will be in touch immediately upon booking. If you do have specific questions not answered here, please email Barbara.

This property is just as described and pictured. It perfectly fit the needs of my husband and me as we explored north Yellowstone. It was lovely to sit out in the evening. The owners definitely care about the comfort of their guests.

Our stay at the Buffalo Room was everything you could ask. We stayed six nights and spent five days exploring Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It was a great "home base" and we needed nothing ... everything was provided.

We had such an amazing stay at the Buffalo Room! This was my second stay here and it was just as great as the first time! The view is amazing, we even watched elk eating and walking around from the relaxing patio. The apartment is clean and has extra touches for anything you may need! I can’t wait to be back again to visit, I cannot recommend this place enough!

This home was beautiful. So clean! It had everything we needed, even the switches were labeled! The bed and sheets allowed us a peaceful sleep. We sat outside a few nights and the views were spectacular. We will definitely stay here again. And thanks for recommending Wonderland Cafe in Gardiner then Gun Barrel Steaks in Jackson. Two delicious meals! Thank you again.

My husband and I loved every minute in Gardiner! This quaint studio is set above the town with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We grilled steaks our first night and enjoyed the sunset from patio (well stocked kitchen which was greatly appreciated!). Barbara and Allan were wonderful hosts and we can't wait to return.

My husband and I stayed at the Buffalo Room for the last 2 nights of our Yellowstone trip. It had everything we needed, was super quiet, clean and comfortable and with a great view of the Roosevelt arch! Easy access to Yellowstone, and the binoculars came in handy to spot a grizzy far away on a ridge. Would definitely stay here again on our next Yellowstone trip!

I was very pleased with these accommodations. Although small as noted, it had EVERYTHING you need and was well designed for the square footage. View was beautiful, storm moved through while I was there so didn't get to enjoy sitting outdoors, but convenient to everything! Would definitely stay again!

Such a great place with every detail thought of. Would be perfect for exploring the northern half of Yellowstone. Loved seeing the Roosevelt Arch as we came and went each day. Great hosts and full of info about the park if needed. You won’t be disappointed if you choose this rental! Would love to come back someday.

After 4 nights in 4 different hotels as we make our way through the national parks, this property made us immediately feel at home. We only stayed one night but wished we had added an extra day in Yellowstone so we could stay at the Buffalo Room one more night. The view was unmatched, the unit was exactly as pictured and was very clean. If you’re traveling through north Yellowstone and need somewhere to stay, I’d highly recommend. Barbara and Allan were excellent hosts!

Our time at this rental was so nice. It has all the amenities you would want and it is immaculately clean and convenient to town. We regularly have business in Yellowstone and we'll be back to stay.

We couldn't have asked for a better "home base" for our 8 day vacation. Perfect location right outside the North entrance to Yellowstone Park. Fantastic views! Local market and restaurants close by. We flew into Bozeman and drove 1 1/2 hours to here, driving through Livingston. We recommend stopping at the Albertsons in Livingston for groceries. We spent our days driving through the park and came "home" to a comfy place to rest and relax before heading out the next day. We used the cooler provided everyday during our excursions into the park, as well as the binoculars. Our hosts, Allan and Barbara, were so sweet and helpful yet made it a point of giving us our privacy. We loved every moment and hated leaving. Thank you for providing us perfect accomodations that gave us the peace and rest we needed.

Our trip was nothing short of amazing and even better with our stay at this place. They had everything you could need and then some! Had extra binoculars which came in so handy as well as bear spray! The place was beautiful and would definitely recommend to anyone traveling for Yellowstone or seeing the area in general! We were less than 5 minutes from the North entrance of the park!

This property was cozy, warm, clean, and had all of the amenities for a great stay. The view from the front door is majestic. It has easy access to shops, saloons, and easy access to Yellowstone North Entrance, Roosevelt Arch. So much better than staying in a lodge or hotel with plenty of privacy. Being tucked into the hill side gave us the country feel without the hustle and bustle of town life. Highly recommend this property! I would definitely stay here again.

Barbara and Allan’s place is perfect for a couple. The unit is spacious, nicely decorated and thought out. Check in and check out was super easy. The bedroom window frames the mountain landscape beautifully. The location is close to everything within walking distance of town. What’s really cool is that you’ll bump into the deer when walking on the sidewalks. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants enjoy Gardiner

Sooooo much nicer than staying in a hotel room! More spacious and just about every room amenity that you can think of for a similar price as a hotel. Awesome view of the mountains and the gateway arch.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at The Buffalo room! It was perfect for a couple, and had everything we needed. It has a great view, is in a great location, and had personable touches like a guest book.

We spent a week in the Tetons and Yellowstone. None of the four places we stayed on this trip compare to the Buffalo room. Every detail was thought through on this accommodation. The bed was perfect and this felt like an oasis compare to the park properties. The location is a perfect launch site for northern Yellowstone. Bob

The Buffalo Room was a perfect place to stay for our Yellowstone Vacation - clean, perfect location (close to park entrance and downtown, every amenity you could think of(including bear spray), deer, elk and pronghorn close by, We could not have asked for a better place as it was so relaxing to come back after a full day in the park. Grill was also a nice touch to use to cook meal. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Yellowstone.

We had a wonderful time during our stay here. The place is perfect, very clean with lots of thoughtful extras. The view is splendid with a nice outdoor seating area decorated with flowering plants. There was even a deer outside the gate to greet us on arrival. 😀 The location in the town of Gardiner overlooking the north entrance to Yellowstone is great for exploring the park. We spent all week doing hikes and seeing sites there and still have more to see. We will definitely return. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the park as well. Thanks for a great place and wonderful vacation.

We loved our stay here! Great location in charming Gardiner. So close to north entrance of Yellowstone! Clean, decorated well with soft sheets and towels. Comfortable bed and couch. Host is very responsive if you have questions and has provided a well stocked kitchen with everything you’d need for cooking if you choose. Loved the outdoor sitting area with access to fire column. Sat out there every night to enjoy the beautiful view and perfect September weather.

The Buffalo Room was a great place to stay. Beautiful room, with amazing views. In town, but just far enough away to be very peaceful. You can walk to shops and restaurants. And the elk are everywhere, right next to our car at one point. Everything you need is right there.
The location for seeing all of Yellowstone can't be beat!
We loved it and highly recommend it for a couple.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our Yellowstone trip and this was the perfect start to our vacation. It was very clean and had everything we needed (pots and pans for cooking, beach towels for hot springs, etc). Also very convenient location to shops and restaurants in town. Highly recommend staying here!

Very nice, quite space for visiting Yellowstone.
10.0 / 10.0
We really enjoyed everything about this place. It sits just above the town so you feel just out of the way of the busy main street but it's so close for all your needs. The apartment had what we needed to make all of our meals while we were there for 7 days. When the coffee machine didn't work, Barbara replaced it right away. The Bush's were accommodating and flexible and generous with allowing the use binoculars, bear and bug spray, a cooler, and books on the area. We can't think of a better place to have accommodated our trip to Yellowstone!
10.0 / 10.0
The property was very quiet. It had a great view of the Roosevelt Arch. We stayed in 4 VRBO's on our 3 week trip, and this one was the best. It was spotless, and we appreciated the bright lighting, especially in the bathroom. We were only there one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer.
