As others have said, a very nice house in a downtown neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and there was adequate seating for 6 people. The downstairs shower was a bit tight (if you're big and/or tall)High touch areas were clean. There was some deferred maintenance around the property, but great value for the nightly rate.

We used Shannon's lovely historical home as our base while we spent a week exploring NE Tennessee. It was perfect. Central to everything, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was as promised. Shannon was accessible and responsive. We couldnt have asked for a better place!

Came back to town to visit family and was so excited that this location was available again! It was like coming home. Even met more of the wonderful neighbors and the location cannot be beat. In the heart of everything but still tucked away enough to be quiet. love Love LOVE!!

The exterior pictures don’t do this home justice. Beautiful home and the neighborhood is probably the envy of the area. The driveway is shared but the neighbors are super friendly! The park across the street is great for relaxing. Lots of neighbors were seen walking their dogs and taking family walks. A nice grocery store is maybe 5 min away for supplies. Hope was clean and comfy. It doesn’t have a dishwasher but paper plates were made available. And Shannon! She’s a dream to communicate with! Super 5 star. Will visit again.

We were in town for a high school softball tournament. This little historic house was perfect! My brother-in-law and his wife drove down from Maryland to join us. The house was clean, well furnished, with a stocked pantry and wine rack. We really enjoyed our stay, and hope to be able to stay again in the future! Shannon is a great hostess, very responsive, and so easy to work with! Highly recommend!

This property provided us with everything we needed during our stay and offered us the opportunity to experience the quality of a historical home. The house had a good blend of antiques and modern furniture, allowing us to have the best of the old and the new. The kitchen and pantry were extremely well stocked with items not found in other VRBO we have visited. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a comfortable and convenient location in the Kingsport area because it is close to all the TriCities are has to offer.

Can't say much more than I did last year - it's hard to imagine a more convenient place to stay. And the house always makes me want to buy one in that neighborhood. Quiet, safe, and the park across the street. What more could you want?

It was a good trip. Had 3 folks all staying together. Ended up getting rained out the Sunday we were there and had to just hang at the property. Very quiet, relaxing environment. Great food in local area. Not far from all things Kingsport.

We love the house and the neighborhood with a nice park right across the street. The layout is great with plenty of room to work, play and relax. The house has everything we could want including hot coffee in the morning. Shannon is a wonderful host. She's thoughtful and responsive. We are repeat guests and will definitely stay again on our next visit.

Shannon’s home was absolutely beautiful! The pictures don’t do it justice. It has such a warm homely feel to it and is truly like a home away from home. Shannon was immediate with any communication attempts. She provided very detailed instructions and helpful tips. The neighborhood was very quiet. Anything you could’ve needed was probably in her home (we brought a lot of stuff with us so had no need). This home is very big and spacious. It was a group of us and no one felt like they were on top of each other. The water in the bathrooms was a little wonky but she’d given us heads up with check in instructions. The only minor complaint I’d say was one of the beds had a weird lean to it. But outside of that the home was perfect and the host was fabulous. We will definitely look for openings at Shannon’s home when we go back home.

We won the lottery with this one. I grew up in Kingsport and still have a lot of family there that I love to visit. When I have the grandkids with me I feel like we really need our own space so I have had many short term rental experiences there. Now that I have discovered Shannon’s house it will be my first choice from now on. Beautiful historic house, tons of character. In fact, I think I may need my own space just for myself now. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood and I could watch my granddaughter on the swings in the park from the front window. Location is ideal - close to everything.

A cozy home away from home
This house was exactly as I imagined! My family is from Kingsport and we instantly felt at home as soon as we walked in the home. The location is perfect, and my kids loved the park across the street. The view of bays mountain from the park was a nice plus as well. Shannon was a breeze to work with and made everything super simple. I’m very happy with our experience!

Family trip
Family trip, We made a trip to Tennessee for my mother’s 90s birthday. It was so nice to have a place to come home to as a group and be able to talk and go across the street to the park for the children to play.
Property was easy to find, and located well for the things we were doing.

Comfortable and convenient
This worked out very nicely for our family as we attended a wedding in the area. It was similar in price to the same stay at a hotel, but with much more privacy and convenience.

Visiting for an out-of-state wedding
Our stay was wonderful! The home was exactly as described; small and quaint, but with everything you could possibly need. There were four adults and three children 8 and under, with plenty of space to spread out. Really cute neighborhood and great location. Shannon was wonderful - very prompt in responding to every question both through email and text.

Historic house
We loved the house! It was cozy & had character. My family that visited loves historic houses as well. The kitchen was nicely updated, even though we never really cooked a meal. We also loved the quaint neighborhood, we had a few chances to walk in the neighborhood. We hope to stay here again, Shannon was so helpful as well, this is the first time I have used Vrbo or any house rental company.

This stay has set the bar so high, I dont think we will have a better stay anywhere else.
From the moment we walked it, we felt like we were home. We had everything we needed and more. The listing wasnt not able to describe the comfort and warm feeling this home gives. On top of that our host was more then friendly and was quick to help with even our smallest request. It was an amazing stay and we hope to come back and stay again.

Long weekend getaway
This was exactly what we needed to visit with local family. Shannon is a great host. Highly recommend this property to anyone needing lodging and don’t want to use the regular hotel environment.

Great little spot.
We were vendors for Funfest and we needed a place close, a kitchen, and room to house our Chefs! They needed to prep & cook daily, something hotels couldn’t provide. Everything worked out perfectly and we hope it’s available to rent again next year.

Cottage on Hammond
We love this place the host was wonderful and attentive. The place is clean, quaint and close to everything. We bought a new house in Mt Carmel needed a nice place to stay and this was it. The kitchen is huge. We would stay again if we need to while moving down. Excelent stay

The Cottage on Hammond was wonderful for our 4-week stay in Kingsport! Shannon's an exceptional host, checking to make sure everything was perfect. The location is excellent: a few minutes' walk to Food City, the post office, and the quaint "downtown" area, especially Broad Street with its shops, restaurants, and Urban Brews coffee. It's 5-10 minutes' drive to the interstate, major shopping & restaurants, the high school, and trailheads for the Greenbelt. The kitchen is outfitted with a Keurig, crockpot, plenty of pots & pans, new cooking utensils, silverware & dishes... pretty much everything you need. The large flatscreen TV has Netflix and several other subscription channels in addition to regular cable. We made good use of the new full size washer & dryer. The house is in a quiet historic area, and has so much charm! It's a rare find, and we'd definitely recommend it.
