The lighting wasn't great for outside

The location of the lodge was lovely, right on the edge of the lake, good size and had everything you needed.
Not much privacy while in the hot tub, shower wasn't very powerful.

Lovely 4 poster bed.
Hot tub (very private).
On site pub (although shut on Monday when we stayed).
Nice setting overlooking lake.
Well maintained grounds with nice flowers.
Dog friendly.
Nice walks nearby.
Wi-Fi didn’t work. Contacted property - didn’t receive a reply.
No complimentary coffee or tea.
Only one toilet roll provided.
Only a bar of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo given for 2 day stay (no body wash, no conditioner).
Told the host that it was out honeymoon - didn’t leave any special touches for us.
Found a bottle of nail varnish on the sofa that didn’t belong to us - gave me the impression that they hadn’t cleaned it very thoroughly.
Mould in shower tray.
No salt / pepper in kitchen.
No AC or fan.
No BBQ.
Lighting in the living room is very poor and overall decor dated.
No hairdryer.

Bed was comfy. Nice view of lake and the site was litter free and tidy. Although access from lake to bar could do with someone fixing gates and fence
Sorry but this is not luxury. Hot tub outside was not used. Dangerous to get in no step. ( This has been mentioned on numerous occasions in comment book in the property and still not sorted. Bad management as far as we are concerned. Someone is going to have a serious injury soon, bet they will sort it then)Flooring to hot tub has seen better days. Wood is all rotting along with surrounding area outside. Lack of privacy to use as bar across the water can see straight across. We have stayed in luxury accommodation many times and the usual is nice table decoration, complimentary items in fridge. Ie, Milk orange etc. Chair at table needs fixing as unsteady to sit on. No explanation on how TV works finally managed to use netflix on 2nd day. Kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. Blinds rubbish quality, dirty and I think one is even broken. Flooring is rotten in the kitchen and could possibly be access point for rodents as hole in the floor near skirting board is large enough to allow rats let alone mice. All cutlery and crockery needed washing before use how is that luxury? Rubbish kettle toaster and fridge. Toaster cheap and tatty, kettle cheap and tatty took ages to boil and the fridge, well it certainly wasn't luxury. Ice box completely froze up and food we brought with us was ruined as fridge didn't work properly. All appliances and furnishings are sub standard for a luxury apartment all needs to be replaced.Luxury? We should have written in comments book, but to be honest couldn't wait to get out of there. This property is certainly not luxury and is false advertisement. Only positive was comfortable bed and view of lake. I would say anyone thinking of staying here avoid this property.Don't stay go elsewhere because it's certainly not as it appears from description and photos.

Hot tub with lake view, peaceful location. Very cosy
The shower took too long to heat up and lacked good water pressure. The whole bathroom got quite wet even with putting a towel on the floor.

Hot tub, great size comfortable bed,
The lodge restaurant wasn't open until 6, very poor menu with not a lot of choice.
No drying line to hang towels after being in the hot tub,
No mat to step onto outside hot tub,

The location was perfect with a pub literally a stone throw away which served very tasty food. The cabin was lovely with incredible scenery and wildlife right on the doorstep. Will definitely stay again! I liked the idea of the self check in too.
General cleanliness seemed to be lacking in the bathroom and hot tub. The bathroom had a load of mould which has turned the silicone black with bits coming off when we were using the shower, large amounts of limescale on the shower head which ideally needs a deep clean. The hot tub had some grime around the edges which I ended up wiping off as not a pleasant sight.

It was a lovely setting. The hot tub was lovely and clean. The bed was very nice although I found it too soft my Mrs found it comfortable. A nice 20 minute walk into the town. The cooker and oven was easy to use. The shower was nice and always had hot water. Overall it was a lovely stay.
A used plaster appeared from no where in the bathroom. It wasn't ours. I do think cleaning does need to be a bit more thorough particularly in the bathroom.

Loved the bed, hottub, bathroom.
TV and Wifi didn’t work, when we contacted staff we were told nothing could be done about it as router was in another cabin. Kitchen facilities were very minimal.

I liked how easy it was to get there and the access to the property was simple and straight forward. very comfortable and provided with the essentials we needed. we especially loved the hot tub with the lake view it was beautiful!
the only things I would say is we were only provided with one toilet roll so we had to leave to get some more. which wasn’t much of a problem but I thought there would be more considering the minimum stay is 2 nights.
also, I didn’t actually meet any of the staff so I can’t give an accurate review on how friendly/professional they were.

Location by lake was lovely. Hot tub great. Bed comfy with lovely duvet, sheets etc. Lodge very dusty. Dressing table and mirror had definitely not been cleaned. Carpet, especially under the bed, very dusty and I don't think had been hoovered. Toilet dirty. Silicon in shower extremely mouldy. When I adjusted the shower head the whole thing came off in my hand. There's a photo of the lodge with the bed decorated for a birthday, the selotape is still stuck to the ceiling over the bed. Maintenance and cleaning definitely need to be looked at.
Mould in bathroom. Very dusty, especially the carpet and dressing table and mirrors. A dirty toilet is a definite no no with no toilet brush to try and clean it ourselves. I have photos of all of the above should you wish to see them.

such a nice modern lodge, so comfy. hot tub was a bonus.
no major issues, but would be better if a light was outside by the hot tub

Excellent location and very relaxing
The only slight niggle is that there is a birds nest in the tree above the hot tub and unfortunately it’s in the target area?

The location was perfect, hot tub was easy to use and clean, perfect for the lodge! Bed was extremely comfy. Perfect view across the scenic lake in the quiet location.
No staff greeting upon arrival, but was clear enough instruction for access to the lodge and keys.
Suspected night staff caused unnecessary loud disturbance through until 4am and continuous smoking of illegal substances resulting in us having to keep our windows closed at night during a heatwave. No one there as you check out either.
Cushions for dining table in very poor condition ripped and fraying, was a dirty glass in the cupboard too (felt like cleanliness isn’t checked thoroughly)

We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was a perfect location, we visited Longleat whilst we were here. The lodges are secluded and it was so peaceful and a nice walk just down the road. It was handy having Morrisons just down the road. The hot tub was amazing! The bar/ restaurant was only the other side of the lake, the staff there gave us a free drink on the house! We fell in love with the sofa! We are currently measuring to see if it will fit in our house.
It was a little outdated. We stayed in Magpie 1 and there was limited room on the balcony. We couldn’t sit down on the tables and chairs. We looked around and every other lodge had a much bigger balcony. We were right opposite the bar/restaurant. Our hot tub could be seen but my husband placed the hot tub lid in front so we could have more privacy. When we arrived, the heating was on and it was so hot! Unfortunately, due to mozzies, we couldn’t open the windows. The stairs up to the lodge were a bit dodgy and will soon need to be replaced. Some of the mugs, glasses and plates were a little dirty so we had to clean everything before using them, not really a problem as they provided washing up liquid.

We loved the location it was great for Longleat zoo and the pond was really nice, hot tub was okey not too comfortable. Kitchen was nice and living room bedroom too but room to improve on certain things.
We had a leak in our bathroom sink and it was going everywhere, when we phoned the staff though at first it was no trouble then got a text in the afternoon to say we don’t have a spare key and can’t fix it till your back. We got back at 5 no one came to fix it and we got two extra towels to clean it up. I wasn’t impressed with that and parts of the room and bathroom were unclean plus parts of the furniture were really outdated, it needs to be more modern personally.

There's very little not to like about Hunters Moon. The place is a little run down but it has a real homely feel. It was peaceful and relaxing, which is what I wanted.
The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge area is super cosy, and the bed is amazing, providing the best sleep I've had in a long time.
I read some review on here about a poorly equipped kitchen, it's not, and a smelly sofa, it does have an odour but it's not offensive and understandable given the turnover of guests and the fact that dogs are also permitted.
The Lodge is directly opposite Magpie 1 but it is far enough away for it not to feel intrusive.
And of course the hot tub is the icing on the cake. The decking area is small but I liked that the tub was so close to the door.

Beautiful location, hot tub on when we arrived so could get in immediately. Bed very comfy. Nice rain shower, parking right next to lodge. Comfy sofa
My partner had to fix the shower as it had a screw missing when first used it. lack of cutlery, only two knives and a couple of teaspoons. mismatch of glasses, would of liked a coffee table rather than putting mug on floor. A hoover or dustpan would be great.

Location and and scenery was excellent as was the food at The Lodge. The hot tub was a great plus as we spent most of our time in it.
The only negative was the the sofa was dirty.

Lots of space , peaceful and beautiful setting
No mattress protecter hairs on mattress and cobwebs 😟 steps outside broken and could do with a deep clean !! But Charlotte was very helpful and tried to mend steps , lake needs cleaning, lots of weeds and needs sorting to catch any fish

The property was fine and in a great location snd in beautiful settings
We booked it for the bank holiday weekend but was not told or made aware that on the Sunday from 12:00 lunchtime till 10:30in the evening the lodge pub in the side of the lake no more that 100 yards away was having a music festival and we had to endure 10 and a half hours of live blaring music which ruined our relaxing weekend we had hoped for and couldn’t even chill and watch tv in the lodge as you could here it over the disco and live music being blasted out continuously, and no where on the bookings.com website was we mate aware of this festival happening or was any of the lodges offered free admission as a way to compensate the guests who was staying on site 😡

We fell in love with the place the minute we got there
Beautiful location
Peaceful tranquil romantic
Perfect get away following our wedding we can't wait to return
Gorgeous lunch in the lodge just over the lake
No negatives other than we couldn't stay longer

Lovely view and felt secluded even though we was opposite the bar!
Comfortable bed and plenty of facilities in the room. We really enjoyed our stay!
We would of loved to of met our hosts! Come say hi to us next time we visit please :)
(We would of liked a screen to pull round the hot tub and mosquito repellent candle could be added to the rooms)

Nothing
Nobody manning reception, no staff to be found on site or answering telephone. Property stank of cigarettes from overflowing ashtray outside front door. Building waste just left laying around. No customer service at all. Shocking….

This was a beautiful log cabin over looking a lake with a restaurant only 2 minute walk away which does really good food and the people are lovely . You can fish on site free of charge or like us feeding the baby ducks and enjoying the peaceful views

Amazing view from hot tub and really comfy bed even if it was a bit high.
A lot of little flys so could do with some citronella candles. And also could do with a hairdryer.

Loved the massive comfy bed and room was dec very nicely
We could not have windows open as mozzies would fly in. Also I think the table was too big in main room we could have done with couple of small coffee tables
