We stayed here with our two children (ages 2 & 4) and two boxers. Our pups are well mannered, but this was the first year we'd brought them on family vacation with us, so we were a little nervous about them adjusting to a new environment. The cabin was so comfy and clean! It had everything we could have needed. We all felt right at home. Our kids found the coloring book stash and puzzle drawer as soon as we arrived, so they stayed busy while we unloaded and unpacked. They also loved all of the duck/hunting decor. I think it was the highlight of their trip. We will definitely book again if we return to the area. 10/10 recommend.

Cute home close to town and other areas. We have family in the mini-home park just across the road, so it was easy access to see them and go back and forth. The neighbor kids were friendly with my son and helped us navigate to the park and the bakery.
Overall a great experience, would recommend again!

An Amazing place to stay with your dogs, very dog friendly and excellent location in the middle of a great area. Lots to do with beaches near by, parks, and ORV trails. Would highly recommend for anyone traveling with their four legs friends,

This was a great stay! The cabin was Beautiful, clean and cozy! It had everything that made our stay feel right at home. Very close to town without having that “in town” feel. Other reviews mentioned it not being in the best neighborhood…I thought it was a cute neighborhood, no problem with neighbors or anything. Would definitely stay here again!

We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem, conveniently located between Burt Lake & Petoskey in Alanson, MI. The house has plenty of space for vehicles, even room for vehicles plus a trailered boat! * The house is super clean and modern, perfect for a small group or family.Sleeping was comfortable for 5 or 6 people; but really not more than 6 people since there are only 2 beds in 2 bedrooms. The couch was super comfy and pulls out to sleep 2 plus a very large comfy chair to match!* The kitchen is modern with every convenience needed, I felt like I was at home!* No firepit or nor grill outside, but plenty of parks in the area. After a long day out-and-about, we didn't even have the energy for campfire. It was nice to be in an air-conditioned comfortable house! *** Most Definitely recommend this house & owner! The owners were very welcoming with notes around the place to answer any questions upon our arrival, along with a book of details for things in the area.

Very nice house, beds are good, has everything you will need. Not far from Petoskey or Harbor Springs.

Overall we had a nice stay. The property is is clean and updated. The pics are exactly what we got. Two points to consider: 1. It's time to update the mattresses. They are spongy soft. We all woke up sore because of lack of support while sleeping. 2. there is not much there as far as the neighborhood goes. Neighbors were fine and overall it was quiet but we did all of our day trips in Petoskey. That is a 15 minute drive just fyi. The large table was great for breakfast and games at night. One final note that my adult kids were laughing about, the lock was unusually hard to operate. It's a combination of key and digital buttons. It took a while to get the lock to work and then get the key out. My girls would wait in the car while I struggled with the key. It became the running joke for the weekend. I'm gonna chalk this up to operator error but there were no instructions and I'm generally a pretty handy guy. Hope this helps

The outside area was unkept. The neighborhood location was terrible. Though it was obvious the interior had been updated, the furniture was old and worn. This is definitely not worth the price paid

Quaint cabin not too far from downtown Alanson. Quick drive to Petosky (20 minutes) & Pellston with a 30 minute drive to Mackinaw City. Cabin is exactly as pictured with enough amenities in the kitchen to cook a full meal.

Not really recommended for non-pet owners. Everything worked except we couldn't make the AC/Heat unit work. Furnishings were fine.

Inside was very nice ,but out side wasn't as neat. Property needed the lawn mowed and some other manicuring. The dog kennel was not a very pretty sight either.

A great few days in this lovely house, just 15 minutes away from skiing at Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands. Beds were super comfortable. Our dog had a fantastic time, especially enjoyed walking in McCune Nature Reserve.

Neighborhood is a bit run down. The tree in front of the house is in terrible need of attention, draws mosquitoes and provides 0 light. The beds definitely need replaced. Very uncomfortable. However, the actual home itself is nice and clean with updated appliances. Remodel is nicely done. Short distance to all of the sights in Petoskey, Indian Springs, and Mackinac.

We brought our two, very well behaved, Westies with us and had a wonderful stay at David's Cabin. The Cabin was well appointed with clear instructions on how to care for the property. When we arrived, we had difficulty understanding how to operate the Whirlpool Gas Oven. David was very responsive and sent his maintenance person, Michael, the following morning to help. With the exception of very minor items, this Cabin was very well equiped with everything one needs for a comfortable stay. We would have liked a couple of mixing bowls and little more silverware but we managed fine. When we arrived on Sunday, it was raining heavily and the driveway entrance to the house was wet and muddy. The gravel driveway could have used another good layer of gravel to avoid tracking mud into the house. Fortunately, we had two pair of shoes, clean ones for the house and dirty ones, left by the door when going outside. Also, the front door lock was hard to open and lock, very tricky trying to remove the key after locking. David is an incredibly friendly landlord. I've never experienced a situation with anyone as helpful and responsive. We loved this cabin, the most pet friendly stay ever (with complimentary dog treats and pictures throughout the cabin of Labador Retrievers). David also provided a complimentary bottle of wine to welcome us. The location was perfect, equal distance between Petosky and I75 for an easy drive to Makinaw City. It was also very close to Habor Springs, Carlevoix and Walloon Lake. We shopped at a giant Meijer Grocery store, in Petosky, only 15-20 minutes away. If we're welcomed back, we'd love to return for another stay.

This home was ideal for our needs, including our two Westies. It was very clean with most of the amenities one needs. If you are interested in visiting all major attractions in the Lower Peninsula (Mackinac Island, Petosky and Charlevoix), it is the perfect location.

I did not receive check-in instructions before check in. I arrived with my kids after a 6-hr drive and couldn’t enter. Evolve, the company that runs this property, promised compensation but did not deliver. The property itself is basic (tho clean and functional) and not in the nicest area.

The property was really nice. The home was really clean and very tastefully decorated. It was a very comfortable home to stay in and very close to several attractions and nearby cities. I would stay again. Communication with the property manager was slow in response time. This would be the only negative. The actual homeowner Dave responded immediately which was great!

Instantly felt at home! We were greeted with a bottle of wine (for us) and dog bones for our fur babes! We didn't bring them along on this trip but they loved the surprise when we brought them home. Very cute/updated place, very clean. Extra bedding and towels provided. No complaints at all!

Cozy Cabin for Our Summer Vacation
This property was very nicely remodeled and themed on the inside. The property was just as described in the listing. The property was very clean and in very good shape in the interior. The outside was maintained in the front. It happened to be unusually hot during our stay, so it was very helpful that the property had AC to keep us cool. The property had lots of amenities on the inside to make it a cozy place to stay and to feel like home. Although the location does not have a pretty view and is basically set in a common mixed home community next to a RV campground along the river, it was safe and very conveniently located. It was only a 15minute drive to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, or Indian River from the property. There is a local market just down the road from the property that is in the gas station that has just about everything you need if you don't want to drive into Petoskey. One of the only negatives that we had were that the walls between the two bedrooms were not very sound proof. Since the beds shared the adjoining wall, you could hear the people in the other room moving around or talking. I think just shifting the beds to opposite walls could help with that issue. Other than that, everything else was great and we would definitely stay there again if we are back in the area. Thank you for hosting us and for sharing your lovely little cabin.

Late night check in to pleasant surprise
If it's dark, bring your flash light to the lock box, and readers if ya need them. 🤣 To be honest I wasn't sure if we were pulling into the correct property at first and was a little nervous, it was the only house on that side of the street nicely landscaped and freshly cut.
The inside was super clean, loved the decor, and had everything we needed for my family of 5 adults. Bedding was soft and cozy. Open concept great for gathering and cooking. Very pet friendly for indoor or outside, we regret not bring our fur family members.
Close to all the great "Up North" adventures. Hiking, beach and shopping in Alanson, Petosky or short drive to Mackinac Island. Ohhh and the Dollar Store up the street is walking distance and has all your staples, +beer/ wine,
minus fresh produces. Was really clean and the nicest employees.
It was seriously perfect for us, easy to access, relaxing when we were not exploring. Even a little live entertainment, the kids being kids across the street, while we had some cocktails on the cute porch.
If you like cozy/ comfy at a fair price. This is the place to stay.
Thank you, from Leavenworth Kansas

Excellent stay, wonderful service
My wife, our family, and I (including our 11-month-old husky mix) enjoyed this stay immensely! The cabin was clean, beautiful, and fully stocked. The location between Mackinaw City and Petoskey was perfect. The service was excellent - we had a slight issue with one of the doors and the owner came by almost immediately and had it fixed for us! The kennels were a great help, and we felt relaxed and at home the whole time. Thank you!
