Saddleback Grove is a beautiful country home perched on a hilltop with dramatic rural and coastal views descending beneath it. Suited to the most discerning of guests this stunning property is styled and decorated to an excellent standard and features a spa with a view like no other.

Where will I be?
4Km from Kiama on the slopes of Saddleback Mountain, this expansive home is accessed via a lane lined with heritage listed dry stone wall and hedgerows. It is surrounded by rolling green hills, reminiscent of the English countryside. So picturesque is this location, that the road is often used for filming.
Get away from it all with a rural escape or enjoy a beach holiday; Saddleback Grove is perfect for both. Just a 5 minute drive brings you into the centre of Kiama with its famous beaches, shops, markets & coastal walk, then retreat home and you'll feel a million miles away. The property is ideally situated for day trips to the surrounding areas. Gerringong is 12 mins drive and Gerroa (Seven Mile Beach), Berry, Jamberoo (including Jamberoo Action Park) and Minnamurra Falls are less than 20 mins away. Reach the Southern Highlands, Kangaroo Valley and the Illawarra Fly via picturesque back lanes in 45min. Saddleback Mountain Lookout is an hour walk uphill or a 5 minute drive.
Why choose Saddleback Grove?
Relax on the deck enjoying spectacular views, watch the dramatic sunrises over water & later the softer changing colours of sunset on the horizon. Follow the neighbour's cows as they wander past or the horses that run next door (note the neighbour's livestock are not always visible).
Ideally suited to families with older children, although girls weekends, groups of couples and multi-generational family groups will also enjoy this property. When not soaking up the expansive and ever changing views guests will be entertained by the outdoor spa, the games room (with pool table and ping pong) and the warming log fire. The property has a variety of fruit trees - which guests are welcome to harvest in season during their stay.
How is the property laid out?
All on one level Saddleback Grove is comprised of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The lounge, dining room and kitchen all enjoy breathtaking views across the rolling hills with their charming dry stone walls and out to the open ocean. The kitchen has stone bench tops, plenty of storage, dishwasher and great facilities, ideal for a longer stay.
Bedroom 1 has a king bed, reverse cycle air conditioning, built in wardrobes and an ensuite with shower. Bedrooms 2 - 4 have queen beds and ceiling fans. They share the family bathroom.
The garage has been converted into a beautiful games room and has a pool table and ping pong as well as board games and a small collection of books.
There is also a laundry with a combined washing machine and dryer.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This property provides complimentary NBN Fixed Wireless Wi-Fi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email, or will be available at the property. The smart TV in the lounge has Netflix and Apple Airplay. Recently Telstra have improved capacity in this area for rural NBN, vastly improving the reliability of NBN reception.
Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the Wi-Fi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please therefore always have a backup plan.
What about outdoors?
The sloping acre of lawn is reminiscent of an English country garden complete with orchard trees. The vast side deck is a great entertainer and both a gas BBQ and wood fired pizza oven are provided so you can cook up a storm in the evening sun. The jewel in the crown is the outdoor spa on the front veranda with views over Kiama and beyond.
The covered front verandah has 180 degree coastal views and has a dining table with bench seating for eight.
Also on the verandah is an outdoor lounge setting for four with an overhead outdoor heater. There are eight light outdoor chairs that can be moved to the garden or to the front verandah to increase outdoor lounge seating and capture the view.
Staying warm or keeping cool?!
Wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioning is provided in the master bedroom and in the lounge. The lounge also has a slow combustion wood fire.
Bedrooms 2, 3 & 4 have ceiling fans, heaters and electric blankets.
The games room has a fan. All rooms can be opened right up to take in the sea breeze.
During the cooler months there is underfloor heating in the main bathroom and heated towel rails in both bathrooms and the laundry. These operate on a timer.
There is a ceiling mounted outdoor heater above the outdoor lounge.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality linen, pillows, blankets, duvets, and bath towels are all provided at this property. Organic soaps, shampoos etc. and septic friendly laundry and cleaning products are all provided. Please bring your favourite beach towel for the spa and the beach!
Parking for cars, boats etc.?
Private parking is available for up to 4 cars on the driveway. Cars must be parked on the driveway only.
Is my dog or cat welcome to stay?
Yes! Dogs are welcome to stay at Saddleback Grove subject to the following:
- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house
- Absolutely no dogs on the furniture or rugs.
- A dog bed and food bowls are provided for use during your stay.
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately
The property is not fully secured, so we recommend that dogs are on a leash outside. Please ensure dogs remain in the property boundaries as they may scare or injure local livestock in the neighbours surrounding fields. Please also keep dogs away from any passing wildlife.
Lastly, please consider that not all guests bring dogs on holiday and we want everyone to enjoy a clean and fresh home. Please clean up dog hairs or anything else inside and out of the house before your departure - thank you!

Is there any special information I should know about?
Although only 1 acre, Saddleback Grove is a rural property surrounded by farmland. As a result, the property is not on town services and relies on rainwater tank and a septic waste system. This means that water wastage needs to be kept to a minimum. Hot water is from a large off peak electric water storage tank, while there is more than enough hot water for everyone to shower, long showers may use up the hot water before it is able to reheat overnight. Only septic tank friendly products should be used or else the system gets smelly. Organic soaps, shampoos etc. and septic friendly laundry and cleaning products are provided. There is a whole house water filter between the water tank & the inside taps.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- School holidays: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?

This is a really well renovated, set up and provisioned house, with everything you need and more, in a beautiful mountain setting with great views.

Peaceful and serene.
Amazing views, a lovely renovated cottage house with many thoughtful touches. The weather wasn’t too great but we busied ourselves, making the fire, having a spa, reading and enjoyed (a wet but) scenic coastal walk from Werri Beach with our pooch.

Stunning views
Loved our stay - every detail has been thought about. Fresh flowers for our arrival, milk from local farm, emergency toiletries, candles, luxurious towels, kindling and wood and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The views are amazing with only a 10 minute drive to Kiama. Only downside were the uncomfy beds in a couple of rooms - the mattress toppers didn’t help.

Amazing location and very thoughtfully set up for guests
The whole stay was extremely pleasant. The instructions were very precise and everything was ready to go when we arrived. Spa was warm, fireplace was prepared and ready to light. The chilli infused oil from the garden was a nice touch and really enjoyed the wildfire pizza oven!
