About this house rental
Treat yourself to a romantic getaway or relaxing retreat in your own newly-renovated historic farmhouse, ideally located on a quiet dead-end lane just one block from the Woodstock Village Green ~ the heart of this famous “colony of the arts”. You can walk to restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutiques, theaters, clubs, swimming holes and hiking trails. Or you can just stay home and relax in your private oasis of peace and beauty with a fully-fenced double-lot landscaped backyard, bluestone patio, gas-fueled fireplace, chef’s kitchen, extra-deep heated soaking tub, and other luxury amenities.
HOUSE HISTORY/LOCATION
Maple House was built in 1916 and is one of the original homes on Maple Lane, a quiet side street that borders Mower’s Field. One of the last surviving American maple trees that once lined the street stills stands in front of the house! On summer weekends, Maple Lane is transformed from a sleepy residential neighborhood into a hub of activity when the famous Woodstock Flea Market takes place in Mower’s Field every Saturday/Sunday from May-October. You can join in the fun and hunt for bargains/collectibles, or observe the festivities from the comfort of your covered front porch. Or you can retreat to the peace and quiet of the house interior or your spacious backyard surrounded by a tall privacy fence ~ and you’ll never know the market (or anything else) is there!
In its 100-year history, Maple House has only had 4 owners, and all have been artists or musicians. (The internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Tom Pacheco shot the cover for one of his albums in the backyard.) The current owners are artist-designers, and they have lovingly and expertly restored and upgraded the house to include modern conveniences and luxury amenities, while still retaining its original character and charm. The wood floors, woodwork, windows, staircase and fireplace have been restored to their original like-new condition, while the 2 bathrooms and the kitchen have been totally renovated and updated.
KITCHEN
The kitchen has been transformed into a chef’s paradise! It features a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a ceiling fan, gleaming white quartz countertops, high-end charcoal-gray appliances and cookware, and a waterfall peninsula with bar seating for 3 in a plant-filled solarium that opens onto a bluestone patio (with outdoor seating and a brand new Weber gas grill).
You can pick up groceries at the local natural foods market, farm stand, bakery, meat market and wine shop (all within walking distance), and prepare elaborate meals or simple snacks in your dream kitchen. Or you can leave the cooking to someone else and treat yourself to a meal at one of Woodstock’s renowned restaurants, many of which are just a block or two away, including: Silvia, Garden Cafe, Oriole 9, Tinker Taco, Cucina, Shindig, The Pub, Station Bar, Early Terrible, Catskill Mountain Pizza, etc.
LIVING/DINING AREA
Entertain friends, play games, watch movies, listen to music or share meals in your spacious living/dining area, which is designed to be cozy, romantic and social. You’ll find a collection of albums for the record player, bluetooth speakers for the house playlist or your own music, card and board games, barware, and a teak table that comfortably seats 6 and has been well-proven for both family games and dinners alike. The living area features a rustic wood slab coffee table surrounded by new leather lounge seating with oversize throw pillows, where you can snuggle with a book, watch a movie on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV ~ or simply take a nap! In the wintertime, you can flip a switch to instantly light a fire in the gas-fueled fireplace and create a cozy romantic atmosphere (no wood-chopping or fire-building skills required!).
2 BATHROOMS
Maple House has two spa-like bathrooms, one on each floor. Both are newly remodeled, modern and heated. The downstairs bathroom features a frameless glass shower with a rain head. The upstairs bathroom has an extra deep soaking tub (also with a shower head and a quartz seat). Once you draw your bath, the tub will automatically heat and gently recirculate the water to maintain the temperature you set, so you don’t have to refill. Instead you can just lay back, close your eyes, and float away ~ perhaps to the sound of music playing on the bathroom bluetooth speakers (for your own personal spa-cation experience)!
2 BEDROOMS
There are also two bedrooms on the second floor, both with midnight-blue painted wide-board floors, wood ceilings with exposed beams, queen-size platform beds with brand new Serta Beautyrest mattresses and luxury linens, black out shades, plenty of wardrobe space, full-length mirrors, and rustic furniture that captures the spirit of the Catskills.
HEAT/AC
The newly expanded thermostat-controlled hydronic heating system will keep you toasty warm during the winter months, and air conditioning units in both bedrooms and the living/dining area will keep you cool and comfortable in the summer.
BACKYARD
Your fully-fenced double-lot backyard truly is a private oasis in the heart of the village. It features a sunny lawn surrounded by perennial gardens, flowering shrubs, and a variety of trees, including 2 Japanese maples (which turn fiery red in the fall) and a crabapple tree (which is adorned with delicate white blossoms in the spring). Two rustic handmade “chairs” have been carved from the trunk of a fallen 100-year-old pine tree that once stood on the property. In the summer, you can retreat to the shaded lounge area with a cushioned loveseat and two armchairs under the trees. Or you can stretch out in the sun on recliners and soak up the rays. The bluestone patio next to the kitchen has a brand new Weber gas grill, Tikki torches, and a table that seats 6 for cooking and dining al fresco.
NO CAR NEEDED
Although Maple House has private off-street parking for 2 cars, you don’t need a car to get here. You can simply ride the Adirondack Trailways bus from NYC or NJ and arrive at the Woodstock Village Green (just one block from the house) in only a few hours!
We look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you to Maple House!

RATES
Please note that our rates are based on a 2-person occupancy, and there's a $25/night surcharge for each additional guest. The reason we adopted this pricing structure is because we receive so many inquiries/bookings from couples who request discounts. We decided to reduce our rate by $50/night to accommodate them, and then add the surcharge for additional guests so that the full rate is paid only when the cottage is fully occupied by 4 people. We hope that this makes sense, and appreciate your understanding.

Beautiful, updated property! Very modern and clean. Loved being able to park our car and walk to all of Woodstock’s shops and restaurants. Big fenced in yard is a plus for extra security/privacy. Loved the gas fireplace for extra warmth. Beds were very comfortable. Bottle of wine was a nice welcoming touch. We will definitely return for the Flea Market located directly across the street.

Located walking distance from everything there is to experience in Woodstock, this house - mid century design mixed with functionality - is a great escape for a weekend or longer.

Everything was terrific about the house, the amenities, the and location with just one important suggestion...
The mattresses were uncomfortable for consistent sleep. Too hard. We would strongly suggest a padded topper to add some "give"and conformity. Otherwise sheets were great, pillows and all.
Almost forgot -- tried the record table but the speed even at 33 seemed off, too fast with some sort of reverb through the speakers. Might want to check calibration.
Would definitely stay again with a slightly more forgiving mattress. Thank you!

My family had a wonderful Labor Day weekend in Woodstock. Maple House is in the perfect location, within walking distance to town. The house and spacious backyard are quiet despite being so close to the main part of town. The home is beautifully appointed and had everything we needed and the hosts were very easy to communicate with. Great find in Woodstock!

The home was beautiful. Great backyard and plants.
The A/C in the larger bedroom wasn’t that efficient because of the location. Suggestion ceiling fan over bed instead of light.
Also found a couple mouse droppings in the kitchen every morning.
All in all my friends and I had an awesome time! Great location to town and beautiful backyard to hang out in.

The location of the house was perfect. Less than a block from stores and restaurants but the house was private and quiet. Both the yard and the house were exactly as described. I need their decorator to come to our house.

We were delighted with our stay at this lovely property. The house was impeccably clean, newly refurbished and everything was very easy to use. This house is so perfect for walking around downtown Woodstock. You will not need your car unless you want to take a drive around the beautiful countryside. Communication with the property manager was extremely helpful and check in was a breeze. Recommend for a friend's weekend, small family or two couples.

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay @ Maple House. It’s an amazing old house, with a contemporary design interior, all the modern conveniences & a fully stocked kitchen. The backyard has been transformed into a beautiful rock garden with lovely perennials. You need to put pictures of this lovely garden on the website. We loved using the grill as the weather was perfect for outside dining. We enjoyed sitting outside in the garden as well as on the front porch watching/ listening to all the birds. It was close to town yet quiet & peaceful. Communication with Chelsea was great; check in was easy. We highly recommend this property. Very clean & organized. Look forward to returning again.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great Experience
This house was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and ideally located a short walk from Woodstock’s main street. The property manager was exceptionally easy to deal with.
Overall, a great experience.

Perfect
Everything about this place is wonderful. The home has been updated but has kept the charm of an older house. It is fully equipped and so easy to find everything. We enjoyed the fire pit on a gorgeous fall evening and crazy jigsaw puzzles on rainy days. The location is ideal - down a quiet street, across from the Mower field (flea market on certain days during the year), and 1 block from the center of town. There is some sort of garage next door to the house but there is a privacy fence surrounding the yard. The owners also have white noise machines and blackout shades in the bedrooms. Had an issue with the entry keypad toward the end of our stay but Chelsea from the management service was very easy to get in touch with. She sent someone over within minutes to fix it. Hope to return sometime soon to this perfect place on Maple Lane!

Great In Town Haven
What a jewel of a spot! Very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We could not have been happier. If you want to be in town, with easy walking access to delicious restaurants and morning cappuccino, this is the perfect place. The AC was a bit loud so we ended up opening the windows while we slept instead. Highly recommend!

This house has every comfort
We didn’t want to leave! This property is so beautiful and has everything you could ever need. We worked remotely all week and enjoyed the space and loved exploring the town of Woodstock as much as we loved relaxing at home by the fire. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, and every comfort you can imagine, the house provides. Netflix, casting, fireplace, nest heating/cooling, sound machines in the bedrooms, we wish we booked for two weeks! Thanks to Judy for being a great property manager, we will be back!

Perfect Getaway
We have family in the area and have not seen them since Christmas. This was a perfect property for the two of us to stay for a week while we visited with them. There are lots of walking trails nearby and you are steps from the heart of Woodstock. The large flat outdoor space has plenty of seating and is very comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped and up to date. There are numerous restaurants in the area where you can get excellent takeout food - or eat outside. The house was very comfortable and relaxing and was very easy to live in.

Right in the heart of everything, yet felt completely removed and private.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Judy’s house. We were right in the heart of everything, yet felt completely removed and private. The backyard is huge and would be a big plus in the summer (it was too cold for us to enjoy this time). The kitchen was remarkably beautiful and outfitted with everything we needed to cook some fabulous meals. We loved the awesome upstairs bathroom, which felt like a spa. The oversize heated tub was enjoyed by all, including our kids. The house was spotless, and I appreciated the attention to detail. Judy is amazing! She is quick to respond to questions and offered many helpful suggestions.

Every detail was carried out to perfection!
This place exceeded our expectations! The decor is a super cool balance of modern and vintage furniture, which gave me ideas for our own place :) My husband and I loved the kitchen and agreed it would be perfect for entertaining, if we stayed in. The location is incredibly central, so we ended up walking to cafes and restaurants for every meal (Silvia's was our favorite, and right around the corner!). The beds were the best we’ve ever slept in. Judy was super helpful and we look forward to our next visit!

Fantastic house with an amazing location!
Judy is an amazing host and the Maple House is fantastic, plus you can’t beat the location! The place was immaculately clean, and beautifully furnished with many luxury amenities. We loved cooking in the kitchen, it really is a chef’s dream. The record player and games made for a fun night in, snuggled by the fireplace watching the snow fall. Oh, and the upstairs bathroom with the Jacuzzi tub was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend and hope to be back for a longer stay. Thanks, Judy!
