Easy two block walk to dining, entertainment, shopping on Main St. Also walk to the lake for more fun. The house is a bit tired but well furnished and supplied.

We were disappointed with the initial impression of this property. The sliding doors that are supposed to cover the washer /dryer were off their tracks and left half-way in the entry hallway, and that was the first thing we saw. The home needs basic maintenance throughout. It's hard to justify the price paid for this home.

Had a large group of guys (16) up for a golf outing. Plenty of room and a short walk to all restaurants. Will try to book again next year.

Everything was accurate as listed - great for a large group if you're ok with some of the quirks of a dated property. Location was perfect, great outdoor space.

Accurate listing, great for gathering a large group of friends

A good place for a base camp to all the area ski resorts and within walking distance to Main Street with restaurants and shopping. Plenty of room for 9 guys.

We loved the neighborhood and location. It is a 2 min walk to downtown Frisco where you have plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and book stores!
Super quick drive to Breckenridge and Copper resorts, and we honestly loved staying a bit outside these areas to get away from the resort crowds.
We also absolutely loved the hot tub.
The property itself is pretty outdated. It was generally clean, but there were some things that were broken or need replacing.
The charm and location make it a recommendable property!

Charged for a cleaning fee even though we left it spotless, and the upstairs toilet leaked through the living room ceiling the whole time similar to what a previous review. It is as advertised but wouldn’t stay here again.

Excellent place for a large group and has all the amenities for a weekly stay.

The pictures did not show the true condition of the house. This house is in terrible condition. Wallpaper peeled off and hanging down in most rooms. Shower handles, broken on three out of four showers. The fourth shower leaked at first use down onto the kitchen table, creating a hole in the ceiling and a puddle on the chair and the table. The stairs to the basement are not to code, instead, dangerously steep, and slippery with old carpet. Woodwork is cracked, stain is worn off. Heating is very difficult to regulate with a thermostat in each room. There was a short circuit on one of the nightstand lamps which created a spark, some smoke and a mini explosion when I tried to plug it in. We only stayed one of our seven nights, and coughed the entire night. Something was in our lungs and we knew that as soon as we left the house when we could breathe easier and stop coughing. The owner said he would refund us the remainder of our reservation, but so far only refunded half and added to the cleaning fee, even though we left the place as clean as we possibly could. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for our children and grandchildren. Instead, it turned out to be the worst nightmare we have ever experienced in our 21 years of renting through VRBO. We will never recommend this property. It is not in a rentable condition at all.

As advertised - description, photos, reviews all call as it is. Was big enough and accommodating for a big group which was the most important piece for us. And location is great. Cleanliness was an issue. But, management was very responsive and helpful to make it as good as stay as possible.

Was a great location to stay with everything within walking distance to downtown Frisco. House was really dated and in need of many repairs. Many outlets didst work, faucet handle was broken off in bathroom, very hard to change water temperatures in all bathrooms, floor linoleum coming up, no A.C. and not able to open windows. The bed setup was odd but beds were comfortable. Managers were very accommodating and quick to communicate back.

Location is great, appreciated being able to check in early, enough beds and baths, though some quite small rooms and strong odor in upstairs bath and either mildew/mold or stained ceiling in that shower. Other general maintenance needs to be done. Couldn't lock slider, or access lock on garage for trash cans. We had to use trash cans in the shed next to the house, which was already full of trash bags. Smoke detectors had been dismantled by a previous guest with a note about batteries needing to be replaced. Instructions asked to lock hot tub, but there wasn't any way to do that. It was warm while we were there and there are only a few screens on windows. Outlets for the microwave didn't work, we had to move it to another spot in order to use it.

Our group had a great stay at Frisco. This is a very unique house and suited our group well!

Wonderful location! Frisco was an enjoyable town! Being from the valley we found the altitude challenging. I don’t know how long it takes a body to adjust-but three days were not enough.
The house met our needs although it was tired and worn. The hot tub was a big hit with the teenagers. I shared some concerns we had with the owner. He was very quick to respond to my questions, which I appreciated.

We had an absolute blast at our stay. Tons of rooms and beds for our large group, convenient arrangement of bathrooms, easy to navigate entertainment and hot tub, large comfortable spaces for hanging out, and walking distance from town. Beautiful hikes with trailheads within walking distance. The manager was communicative and helpful, and we had zero complaints. Great price for what we got and we were really happy! I highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to hang in Salida with a big group.

The location was amazing and the communication with the owner and his staff was much appreciated.

The listing says it can sleep 18 people. However, two of the beds in the listing - two queen futons - did not exist. They were simply made up by the person that posted the listing. In fact, the rooms that the listing said had these futons were too small to fit any additional beds. Without these beds, this house only sleeps 15 max, and that's if you put two people in all of the queen or double beds. I called the property manager to ask about this, and she did not answer, and her voicemail was full, so I couldn't leave a message. She never called back, so I called the backup non-emergency number. A man answered who said he was the owner's father. He told me that they must have removed the beds and not updated the listing, and that "there's nothing we can do about it now, haha". I tried calling the property manager again when we checked out and was able to leave a voicemail, but she didn't respond.
The house was ok besides that. The hot tub was nice.

This house is rustic, fitting for historic Frisco, has a great location to main street and within walking distance to the marina. It has many rooms and beds with a large gathering room, dining room, and kitchen to accommodate a large group. All rooms have individual heat control making it comfortable for everyone. We were there during a very cold weekend and all rooms were cozy warm. Great hot tub with towels and a wood stove with wood in the common area. If we are back with a large group we will stay here again,

The house in Frisco was great. A bit dated but full of history. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for our group and the hot tub was great after a day of skiing. Would recommend if you need something close to the mountains at a great price

The 1 bedroom villa provided all the creature comforts of home. Very spacious and there is no need to leave the property. Eateries, pools, and a store.
Communication with the VRBO host was speedy.

Me and a group of friends stayed here to hit the surrounding ski mountains. Great communication from the property host and tons of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Thanks for the great stay!

We had a fun time as thus unique property in Frisco. If I had to describe this property in one one, I would say "funky."
There were ten of us, including my wife and I, our two sons, our daughters-in-law and four grandchildren ages 6 - 14. As a result we loved having a table that sat ten for meals and there was a second table if you have a larger party. This is a unique property, being a former bed and breakfast. As a result the bathrooms were generally not en suite and some of the sinks were in the bedrooms, not the bathrooms, but that did not detract from the charm of the place at all.
Our host was very helpful. When we asked of there was pancake griddle, a new one was there when we arrived. The pantry was one of the best and most generously stocked we have encountered.
The hot tub was a big plus and was enjoyed by everyone. The location was wonderful just a couple of blocks off of Main Street. We had a great time.

Overall great ski house and location in Frisco! The property manager was very responsive with all communication pre and during our trip.

Honestly, this place looks NOTHING like the photos! Everything is falling apart. My mom sat on a sunken couch and injured her tailbone, she’s undergone PT for 6+ months. 10/10, DO NOT RECOMMEND! The only good thing about this place was the backyard (hottub).
3.0
The property is very well situated a short walk to downtown Frisco. Many great restaurants and shops. Close proximity to all the nearby ski areas. The house itself was ok, the pics online are not necessarily telling of the house. Bathroom sink in our room, broken TV leaning against the wall, heater in our bedroom didn’t work, pealing wallpaper. The house was ok for what we used it for, being gone most of the day and using it to sleep close to the hustle and bustle.
Would we stay there again? Sure, if there wasn’t anything else in a similar price point.
Owner was great, very responsive to any questions.

Easy renting experience, very prompt responses from management . Should have been cleaner and hot water heater wasn’t on when we got there. Overall good experience though.

Family vacation
Location of the property is great!
The check in process was horrible.
We drove from Dallas about 14 hours! Check in time is 4 pm, but we weren’t able to get into to house until 6pm. When we got there the cleaning staff was just getting started. I contacted the owner and he said he couldn’t do anything but buy my group fudge form a local dessert place. I was really upset because I paid full price and was taken time from my vacation. Due to the cleaning staff being in a hurry the house was not clean we had to re clean the property.
Overall it was not a great experience and will definitely not return.

Not great
If you’re looking for a property with a lot of beds/bedrooms and that’s your only requirement, this is the spot. It was the only place left in Frisco for our desired weekend, so we tried booking this VRBO. The 24 hour window to approve expired and we tried again, and again, until the 4th time when it was finally accepted. When we received the check in instructions, we wanted to clarify where the extra cars could park since we were told the property would fit ~7. After 36 hours with no feedback, I tried calling. 24 hours later, we received a message from a person that wasn’t the host at a different phone number than what was provided. No help was given for the extra cars. They just confirmed where we couldn’t park. Mold in the bathroom wasn’t ideal. Random broken chair in the corner of the upstairs hallway wasn’t great decor. Hot tub was great. Location was great. Number of beds/bedrooms was great. Check out instructions were straightforward. If this is your only option and you don’t mind dealing with excessive communication issues and mold, this is the spot!

Great location, nice place to stay if you're on a budget
I stayed in the Historic Frisco Retreat with a group of 10 friends to ski. The house is great for skiing, with several mountains within a 30 minute drive. There was space for 3 of our cars to park at the house. Many of us were working during the week, and we didn't have any problems with the wifi. There's also plenty of tables to work on, just not many private spaces to take meetings. The house was also relatively inexpensive for the amount of bedrooms we needed.
Overall the house is not in good condition. One of the toilets was not completely bolted to the floor and would wobble when you sit on it. Another bathroom had visible mold on the ceiling. Water pressure in the kitchen sink was very bad making it difficult to wash dishes and fill containers of water. Many of the pots and pans in the kitchen were also warped making it hard to cook on the electric stove. Cabinets in the kitchen looked like they were close to falling off. It's definitely many years overdue for a renovation, but it was cheap and it fits a lot of people.
The host was hard to deal with during one incident. She sent over a technician to replace all of the water in the hot tub during our stay without giving us any notice. This was frustrating because it was a Saturday and we were not able to use the hot tub that night because the water was still cold. It also resulted in the old water from the tub pooling in front of the basement window and then leaking into the wall of the basement. For the last two days of our stay there was a mildew smell in the basement, and potential water damage to the walls. The host did not seem interested in addressing the situation and instead denied that there had been any water leaking into the house even though we told her we had video evidence.

Great location for a large group. Close to many ski resorts and free public transportation to most. Plenty of room in the house and hot tub for our group to gather and have fun.

Great Location, plenty of room
This property was great for our large family. There is plenty of room despite other incorrect reviews. As stated in the listing it is an older property as it was once a Bed and Breakfast, but the house is clean and very cozy. The location is great for any activities in the area. Walking distance to shops restaurants and bars. House was clean and communication with host was seamless. Very great experience!

Great location. House needs some renovating
This house was the only one available in summit county when I was looking for a place to stay over Christmas break. The location is great: 2 blocks off of Main Street, a few streets over from the trails. Parking was easy.
Overall the trip was good. Everybody had a bed to sleep in. The kids thought it was a funny house perfect for playing hide and seek: there’s a whole maze upstairs trying to find the other bedrooms and bathrooms.
The house itself is old. It needs some updating and even just plain upkeep. The shower faucet in the master bathroom is gone, making it hard to adjust the water temperature. The kitchen faucet sprays water everywhere. Many light bulbs are missing or not working and the ones working are extremely dim. There are cracks in the walls, some floor tiles are broken.
Coming for a skiing trip with 13 people we had a lot of gear but zero room to store coats, snow boots or ski boots. There they sat in front of the door, in the way and a tripping hazard for the people sleeping in the basement.

Well worn but functional
Well worn but functional. Had to buy a nonstick fry pan as I burned the scrambled eggs in the cast iron skillet.
