Nice and quiet area. Home is as described

My two sisters and I decided to do a weekend getaway and this cottage worked well for us. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with interesting houses and rolling hills. We loved the fact that it’s so close to the Historic Old Main Street for shopping and dining. We also enjoyed reading about the history of the house and the pictures from when the family lived in it.
It wasn’t a problem for us but if you have any mobility issues, you might have issues with this house. Access from the street involves walking up a fairly steep sloped yard to reach the front door as there are no steps up from the street. The stairs inside the house to the bedrooms upstairs are also steep which is common for houses built in 1953. I just want to mention it since it could be a problem for some.

Enjoyed all the personal touches. It was well equipped and good location. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

The house was very clean and was in a great location to get to anywhere in St. Charles quickly.

Comfortable and close to lively old town St. Charles. We were riding the Katy Trail so the washer and dryer were very appreciated. The housekeeping service should be monitored as cleanliness was an issue.
6.0
Lazy housekeeper - dishes were in the dishwasher, extra bedding randomly tossed in dresser, yard not mowed or cleaned up. Rocks, used as steps, leading to front door move and are dangerous. Clothes rod in upstairs closet falls off. For what you charge for cleaning, I would expect nicer. Probably would not stay there again based on above and proximity to Old St Charles.

The owner was very prompt in replying to our questions. The property is adorable. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels.

We had a nice stay at this property. Robert was easy to communicate with and the house was centrally located. Between historic Main Street and Lindenwood University, we were able to be in all parts of St. Charles within minutes.

Small and quaint but nice, clean and plenty of room. Special notes about the family history behind the house. Very good communication.

Our family loved our stay…Robert is the ultimate host and made our stay special. The host provided detergent, fabric softener, coffee, and other amenities. We would stay here again in an instant.

A lot of one way streets made it hard to get back to the house. The bathroom definitely needed a better cleaning. The house was nice otherwise, lots of leaves that needed raked. Heat worked well. Well stocked kitchen supplies, could have had a bigger coffee pot.

Aunt Doodle's house was very comfortable and quaint. The house had plenty of room for my four sisters and I to gather together and enjoy each other's company. The house was well supplied with all the necessities of home. The neighborhood was quiet and comfortable as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our only concern upon leaving, was that we could not get the dishwasher to keep running. It would start, but within a few minutes, the lights went off. Hopefully it was our mistake and nothing wrong with the washer. Thanks again for all of your hospitality!

I’m originally from the St. Charles area and stay in Vrbo or other rentals when we visit with my family. This was one of our favorite stays. Very clean, comfortable, and convenient.

Great property, great communication! We were in town for a soccer tournament and this place was in a great location for games as well as touristy things to visit. The three twin beds upstairs were perfect for our kids. It is clear the owner loves this home and the memories associated with it - how kind of him to share with us guests!

Wow!! The house was an oasis on a otherwise chaotic trip with teens. Robert was a fantastic and welcoming host with great communication. The house is very comfortable, clean and has everything to make your stay stress free. The history of the home and decor made us not want to leave. The neighbourhood is very quiet and close to everything you would want. A very hidden gem, hope to be back next year. Thank you Robert.

We came to the area for a soccer tournament. My family of 6 opted out of the hotel and chose this adorable little home. The kids loved the open, upstairs bedroom, we all loved having some space and the location was exactly as far from the fields as the hotel. The house was cute and clean and the town was amazing. We spent time perusing downtown for Mothers Day. It was a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Aunt Doodle's house and highly recommend it! The home is full of interesting family history and charm. My husband and I stayed a 4 day weekend trip with my 16mo and 4yo daughters to visit family in the area. The beds were very comfortable and the host provided nearly every amenity needed. The location was nice and convenient. There was plenty of room for my family to come visit and have dinner with us. My girls loved the upstairs bedrooms and piano. We are already looking forward to our next trip in 2024!

The home is cozy and solid. The beds were all quite comfortable. The host was quick to respond and kind. We had no real needs during our stay but we were quite pleased. As in any home of this age and location the stairs to the upstairs bedroom(s) are narrow and steep. The listing of 3 bedrooms is accurate except that there is no door between bedroom 2 and 3 on the upper level. This did change our planned sleeping arrangements but was not a problem. We would absolutely stay again with the same group with no problem.

The home is centrally located in St Charles to historic downtown and the Streets of St Charles. We plan on booking this home again in the near future and will bring our children. Everything you need under one roof.

This was the perfect spot for a weekend wedding. The quaint home was very comfortable for us all. The owner was quick to respond to questions, the beds were great, and it was very close to both downtown St. Charles and the convention center. If you are hoping to stop by St. Charles for a few days and to have a wonderful place to call home, this is your spot.

Enjoyed the displays and other items about family and local history. Items supplied were adequate. Convenient to downtown, great backyard. It is an older home, with steep stairs, but was comfortable. The front yard has no easy path to the door, which was tough for someone with limited mobility. Well worth the price.

This house was just like the Description! The history all over the place was amazing and so interesting. Love that it was pasted down through the family. It is in the perfect location and the town is amazing. Will be back!

Very warm, clean and comfortable. Stairs are steep to 3 twin beds upstairs so I wouldn't recommend for toddlers.
