About this house rental
Hilltop Hideaway is a sprawling, elegant mountaintop getaway where you will instantly feel like you are hidden away from the rest of the world. Designed to take full advantage of the exceptional mountain views, this estate also offers convenient access to some of the best ski slopes in the world. With seven private bedrooms, seven spa-inspired bathrooms, over 7,600 square feet of luxurious living space, and numerous extras including an in-home gym and a wine cellar— Hilltop Hideaway will easily bring all of your Rocky Mountain vacation dreams to vivid life.
Surrounded by picturesque mountain views, the storybook facade of Hilltop Hideaway is nestled in a grove of mature fir trees. The front entrance leads into a striking and extraordinary GREAT ROOM with log cabin walls and a crackling wood-burning stone fireplace that adds the perfect blend of warmth and coziness. Massive floor-to-ceiling windows make sure that the impressive mountain view is visible from every seat, and a large HDTV sits in the corner— perfect for a movie night curled up by the fire.
The gourmet KITCHEN also maintains a rustic cabin vibe, with log cabin walls and exposed wood beams blending with sparkling granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen features two dishwashers on either side of the Kohler farmhouse sink, an enormous Sub-Zero side-by-side refrigerator and freezer, and a Thermador gas range with six burners and two ovens. Guests can perch at the countertop bar or relax in the formal DINING ROOM with seating for ten.
On the second level lie the PRIMARY and SECONDARY BEDROOM SUITES, each located on opposite ends of the home for total privacy and peace. Each suite includes an exquisite king-size bed that is outfitted with crisp, white linens, a fireplace, a door that leads to the sunny outdoor deck, and an ensuite bathroom with dual vanities, a step-in shower, and a soaking tub. A convenient OFFICE SPACE sits in between the two suites and offers a view of the great room below.
Back on the main level, there are two more BEDROOM SUITES, each with queen-size beds. The first bedroom offers an ENSUITE BATHROOM, while the second bedroom has a full bathroom just outside the door. On the lower level, there is a BUNK ROOM with two twin-over-queen-size bunk beds and another GUEST BEDROOM with a queen-size bed that would make an ideal nanny’s room. This lower level also offers another FULL BATHROOM.
Hilltop Hideaway features an impressive selection of relaxing OUTDOOR SPACES as well— including a spacious terrace just off the great room with lots of lounging and dining space, as well as a premier gas range for grilling out. The upper level also features a sunny, private patio with lovely mountain views. The lower patio has a hot tub for relaxing after a long day of hiking or snowboarding.
Extra amenities and living spaces at Hilltop Hideaway include a WINE CELLAR, a fully equipped FITNESS CENTER, a TWO-CAR GARAGE, a GAME ROOM with a pool table, a comfy DEN with a sectional sofa and large HDTV, and a large LAUNDRY ROOM with multiple machines. There’s even a completely separate PRIVATE APARTMENT— referred to as the Caretaker’s Unit— with a queen-size bed, bathroom, living area, and full kitchen.
Winter guests will fall in love with the effortless ski-out access at Hilltop Hideaway, while summertime guests will delight in the nearby hiking and mountain biking trails. Incredible House
We had an incredible vacation in Telluride. The house is amazing and has everything we needed. It is hard for me to imagine a more beautiful place.

About 23 years ago, I skied Telluride including taking the lift that passes within 20 yards of this property, and wondered who could ever stay in places this nice.
That was in 1999. And after 23 years I was finally able to fulfill my personal bucket list item and stay in this "luxurious log cabin". It did not disappoint in the slightest. I would recommend it to anybody, whole-heartedly.
With a small amount of effort (a walk of about 30 yards) we were able to "ski out" of the property", and with an additional 50 yard walk ski back in at the end of the day.
The property itself is gorgeous. We had 12 people staying, and empty bedrooms. There were several married couples, and each had a private suite all to themselves, with bedrooms to spare. The "common areas" were WONDERFUL for apres-ski catching up, and large enough to accomodate the 12 of us and 3 or 4 local drop in visitors that live in Telluride COMFORTABLY.
It is truly a beautiful property that I hope to stay again at in the future.
Here is one thing to consider for those of us that live at sea level: According to my iPhone altimeter, this property is at 10,050 feet elevation while the town of Telluride is at a modest 8,500 feet. For scale, they pressurize airplanes to simulate 8,000 feet because that is the altitude most people don't feel any effects. The morning after we arrived most of us woke up with headaches from this extreme 10,000+ foot altitude. They sell oxygen cannisters in every store in Telluride, consider stocking two for each person and sucking liberally at those for the first 24 hours you stay here. Plus bring some Tylenol for the headaches. It's completely, TOTALLY worth it, and within 2 days you become acclimated to the altitude. Alternatively, there is a drug called "Acetazolamide" (you can Google that) that your doctor can prescribe to take for the 3 or 4 days leading up to staying at altitude. Seriously, this is a legitimate medication and not abusable. Take it for a few days leading up to staying at THE TOP OF A SKI RESORT.
