2024 was a great year for us and I want to thank all our guest for choosing Beach Happy and taking such good care of the house, we had 100% 5 star guest !!! Avon was first called Kinnakeet, the first settlers were Algonquian Indians, the Post Office in 1883 changed the name to Avon, do not know why! Beach Happy is a semi-ocean front property located on the secluded North End of Avon, NC. Beach Happy offers perfect 360° views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound. The ground level of the property offers covered parking, capable of fitting more than four vehicles under the house. Additionally, the property offers an outdoor shower, fish cleaning table, and park grill on the grounds. Beach Happy is 2 stories, sitting over 20 feet off the ground. The first floor houses four bedrooms, each having access to a full bathroom. The second floor houses the living quarters of the home, providing a kitchen, bar seating, kitchen table, dining table, living room, sitting room, and playroom. Both floors provide wrap around decks, offering views of both the ocean and sound at each level, with ample seating and outdoor furniture on both floors. The playroom is stocked with books and games for children of all ages, including a foosball table. Beach Happy is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, with a beach access ramp only thirty feet from the property. Finally, Beach Happy is situated close to popular wind surfing locations, shopping, restaurants, and other water excursion destinations. Book now! No pets. Check in is 4 PM Check out is 9 AM. The owner only gave short answers to all of our questions and didn't answer all the question we asked. The code they gave us didn't work so we had to use their hideakey to get in. The house is nice and in a great location. It was nice for a couple families to share. There are a ton of stairs which makes things hard when you have little kids. The owner contacted us midweek about the house and seemed to have been watching us. After check out, we were harassed about minor cleaning items that needed to be done.

We had a great time, lots of room for the nine of us, well equipped. Loved the play room. Would recommend bringing a gate to block the stairs if you have little ones.

The house was exactly as pictured. Super comfortable, clean, beautiful views. Beds were comfortable. Even with the unfortunate weather we enjoyed the hot tub and the short walk to the beach when it wasn’t raining. The home was well appointed and we needed nothing. Brenda was amazing and always easy to reach with an answer to any questions.

This was our first family trip to the OBX and the first time we used VRBO (better later than never!) We can’t say enough about both! Brenda’s house was perfect for my husband, me and our triplet 13 yr old boys. Everyone had their own space to relax. The house was clean and exactly as pictured. We loved the proximity to the beach, which was amazing! The boys played a lot of basketball which was an added bonus! I loved having so many choices of where to sit outside and read with a great view! I told Brenda we can’t wait to come back.

This was our second year staying at Beach Happy, and it was again amazing! We LOVE that it's so close to the beach but in a safe cul de sac. The kids and adults loved playing in the game room! Brenda is a FANTASTIC host who communicates so well, and wants your vacation to be top notch. It is refreshing and wonderful to have someone so personable and sweet. We highly recommend Beach Happy!

We have been going to Avon annually since 1991- we have been house hoppin the last couple years looking for our new annual home. This place was above perfect for our needs- with four teens and significant others/friends- and us (late 40s/50s) it was super cozy for all of us. Avon gives you quiet sleepy town evenings and a quick drive up or down the island to excursions like mini golf, go cards, and zip lining. We were able to enjoy sunrise and sunset from the top deck as the sound and ocean are both viewed from this home. Can’t ask for a better family vacation.

We had a great week at Beach Happy! We had two teens, one tween, and 5 adults and we had plenty of room. Kitchen was great for cooking simple meals for all of us, it was a short walk to the beach and to several restaurants. It was clean and comfortable.

We had a fantastic time staying at this property. I was close to the ocean and close to the sound, and the spot was very quiet. The house had everything we needed, particularly in the kitchen. I really liked the decor. A lot of times, rental homes will either have very few decorations or lots of things that you would not want to look at, but if I were buying this house I would want all the decorations to convey with the sale. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was conveniently located on an upper level outdoor porch. We would happily stay here again.

The house was as expected and has all the comfort as expected. Weather on the other hand was as bad as it gets (save a hurricane) which made the house accommodations even more relevant and the house delivered

We had a wonderful time at Beach Happy, and a great experience thanks to Brenda! She was able to provide guidance when bad weather came in, and we were able to leave early due to the approaching tropical storm. The only issue I might state was raised nails/screws on deck surfaces made my mama heart worried for my daughter to play outside without shoes. Otherwise, everything was truly perfect, wonderful amenities, quick, easy walk down to the beach, access to shopping, restaurants, and groceries within 5 mins from the house. We definitely plan to visit the area again, and would recommend Beach Happy to anyone looking in the area.

This house was perfect for what we were looking for. The house is on the northern side of Avon so it was a quieter part of the beach compared to further down near the pier which is exactly what we hope for when on hatteras. The walk to the beach was easy and close and the house was beautiful and allowed for watching sunsets on the sound from the deck. We will definitely be wanting to stay again in the future. Brenda also was very helpful and available throughout the process! Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay at Beach Happy. It was the perfect size and perfect location- public beach access is so close! The house is well equipped, decorated in such a fun and happy way, and the views of both the ocean and the sound is gorgeous. I loved everything about this house. So close to the beach, barely any neighbors, ocean views AND sound views. We walked to dinner at the Po House and drove down to Koru for the Thursday concert. We were four mom friends on our own and we had a wonderful week. The house was perfect for our needs, more than enough space, and CUTE! Most important, we used three showers at once and never ran out of hot water! Thank you, Brenda, for a terrific vacation.

My BF and I took our blended family on our first family vacation and it exceeded our expectations. The property was just as advertised and the photos are spot on.
The home is well-loved, well-cared for, and was just perfect for the five of us. It was a very close walk to the beach, and Avon and the surrounding area has so much to offer - good restaurants, nice galleries, and abundant shopping (if desired). We spent most of our time at Beach Happy and at the beach. The fully stocked kitchen and charcoal grill made cooking a breeze and we enjoyed completing a puzzle every night we were there.
Brenda was the best host I’ve had so far! Excellent communication at every point, including a reminder the day before to bring linens. She let us in a little early which was a very welcome surprise.
This was my first trip to the OBX and I look forward to returning. I’d absolutely stay at Beach Happy again! Thanks Brenda and Steve for a fabulous week!

First time visiting the Outer Banks. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Just a short walk to the beach. Owner was quick to respond, very helpful and friendly. The house was as described and clean. We made most of our meals there. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Would definitely return again. Thank you for opening up your home to us.

This house is amazing! We had an amazing time there. You have an ocean sunrise view and an ocean sunset view. Everything was very clean and the house is very well decorated. The owner Brenda is very nice and makes sure you have everything you need. Will be going back in the future!

Beach Happy is so welcoming and equipped with everything you might need that it feels just like home - but WAY BETTER of course! Wonderful views the ocean and the sound and such a short walk to the beach. We loved beach walks every evening, reading books , playing foozball and watching stars at night. Would absolutely choose to stay here again!

We loved to be very close to the beach on both ocean and inlets sides. The house is welcoming, cozy and has a nice view of the ocean. We loved to play foosball. There is a nice library for reading for those rainy days. Kitchen is very well furnished. Overall a great house for our family.

This was our first time to stay 2 weeks. We had a great 2 weeks. Brenda was so kind to let us come a day early due to the weather. We have never had a host as hands on as Brenda. Can’t say enough good things about her. Beach Happy was perfect for us. The location with the sunrises and sunsets were beautiful! And it was very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked for a older home. I loved the decor. So cute. Definitely hope to add additional weeks next year.

Brenda was great ! Check in was so easy. The house just felt like home! Very confortable place. Just really felt like home. This home was equipped with everything one could need. It was just my wife and I but would be great for a family !! 4 bed rooms, three baths, outdoor shower and a hot tub! Great ocean view, great sunset view, and very close to the beach! Plenty of parking spaces! Great home to rent If you have some kids or if you want to have some families come and visit, I dont think you could go wrong choosing BEACH HAPPY. Thanks Brenda !

We had a wonderful week at Beach Happy! The ocean and sound views are even better than the pictures show; you can see water from 3 sides of the house. Sitting on the deck and in the hot tub was so relaxing. It’s a short walk to the beach so we went multiple times a day and even had a beach fire one night under the Milky Way.
The house was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed all the cute little decorations that seemed carefully selected. The kids enjoyed the books, games, and foosball table. This was our 4th year in a row in the OBX and we would definitely stay here again!

The house and the location were perfect for our needs. The views were outstanding. We enjoyed many sunsets and even a couple sunrises from the decks. Our adult children all joined together for a family vacation, and the house accommodated us beautifully. The living area was spacious and comfortable. Two family members needed to work remotely during the week, and the wi-fi and space were more than enough. The kitchen and eating area allowed multiple people to cook, and there was was plenty of room for family meals and game nights. The beach was just a few steps away and was not crowded at all. Brenda was super friendly and helpful. We hope to return next year!

We had a great time during our week at beach happy. The house was spotless and had everything we needed! We had a slight issue with the Wi-Fi and dryer and Brenda got everything sorted out ASAP. The beach was a bit of a haul with a 1 and 3 year old so be sure to bring/rent a cart if you have young kids.

Everything was great. Enjoyed the easy beach access and the hot tub. The cable internet was sketchy, but that seemed to be effecting all the houses on the block. Would stay again.

Beach Happy worked great for our family
We really loved our week at Beach Happy. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable (we didn't use the room with two twin beds). The hot tub was in great shape and was fun for our 3 year old. There were a lot of games to play and books to read. The sunrises and sunsets were great! The location is a quick walk to the beach and was perfect for our family in order to accommodate day time napping. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the house which was a tiny bit of a struggle for us but the kids got used to it after a few days and we were aware of it prior to booking the home. The only thing I wished I had brought was a baby gate for the stairs. Everything else we needed was at the home, fully stocked kitchen and plenty of seating. Overall, the house was awesome and we are so grateful for the week we were able to spend there. Brenda was very responsive and helpful and we hope to be back again!

Beach Happy made us happy!
Beach Happy is a great place for a family vacation! Our two main requirements were beautiful views and an easy walk to the beach, which Beach Happy met 100%. The house felt even more spacious than we expected due to the playroom and the extra couch nook. The kids loved the foosball table, and there were little surprises for them everywhere-- from a chest of puzzles to a little ring and hook game on the porch. We also liked Avon because everything we needed was nearby, but the area didn't feel too developed or crowded. The beach isn't crowded because there are a handful of houses on each block. We printed off a permit and made a beach fire with s'mores one night. Everything in the house was clean, in working order, and well-provisioned. I am a struggling, underpaid NC teacher, but I hope to save up so I can come back again!

This is our second time staying at Beach Happy and it was just as amazing as we remembered! The views are incredible and great restaurants are a short walk away. The game room was a favorite for the kids.

Great beach, charming house
We enjoyed the virtually private, pristine beach, the house had charming decor, great common space and playroom, outdoor shower was awesome, and ample kitchen utensils/pots/serveware. Beds were rather uncomfortable and walls very thin, Jack and Jill bathroom shared by two master bedrooms was an odd and at times uncomfortable arrangement lacking privacy, and most of all, lack of black out shades or curtains on any of the bedroom windows (3-5 in each room) meant that we were all up with the dawn (5:30 am) and kids could not get to sleep before dark (9 pm at this time of year)..checkout time of 9 am a bit on the early side too from our experience with vrbo properties.

Perfect beach week for us
For our two families vacationing together, this house was perfect. The three children with us were comfortable, the house was exciting to them and had plenty of room for them to be loud and play in one area and for us to be enjoying ourselves on one of the many decks or in the hot tub. The beach is a short vigorous hike over the dunes, and completely gorgeous. Getting to see a simultaneous full moonrise and sunset was awesome! It is a rustic, old fashioned type of beach house which was just our style. Loved the outdoor shower and the hot tub was super clean and hot. Our last night a huge storm blew in and the whole house was moving, we felt like we were in the belly of a ship and it was very exciting! Would 100% return, Brenda was super communicative and helpful the whole time.

Excellent host
Beautiful house, fantastic views of Pamlico sound and the ocean. Just a few steps away from the ocean. We had one slight problem when we got there of which was immediately taken care of. Definitely Brenda is a super host. Will definitely come back again. Highly recommend!!!
