This place is a tiny peace of heaven on earth. We loved it here and can’t wait to come back.
Nothing.

This was a lovely quirky property on the waterfront with a lovely patio to sit out on. Had all the facilities necessary for a short weekend break. Exceeded our expectations and would most definitely recommend and book again.

Wonderful location, beautiful cosy boat house overlooking the Lough. Everything you could need for a few nights stay and the bed was very comfy. Communication was quick and owner was helpful when we had to call about accessing the property.
Ventilation in the bathroom was poor meaning it smelt quite damp and there was no shower gel. Also no WiFi or a welcome book, not something we needed but would be nice for visitors staying longer.

Location. Lovely decor
No Wi-Fi. No parking

Nice waterfront location close to town. Quirky 'boathouse' decor made it feel quite homely. Perfect place for a one night stay.

Bit difficult to understand heating, apartment was cold when we arrived and took awhile to heat up

Very clean and comfortable.
Close to all pubs and amenities. Views are fab

Breakfast n/a
Location was very central, easy walks to all sights, restaurants, pubs etc
Heating worked well, making the room quite cosy on a wet, cold night.
Kitchen area equipped with all you needed.
A little difficult to find initially, steps down to the property with no hand rail.
There was no parking allowed directly outside but free parking was available close by. We went out of season so no issues with parking but it may differ on busier dates.
It would have made a difference if the heating had been on prior to our arrival on a dark, wet night!

no parking at the property but free carpark not far away .

Everything was fabulous. Couldn’t fault it, spotless clean all over. Quirky wee spot, will definitely come back!
The towels.
I didn’t bring my own as it said towels were provided. There was only two very old thin towels for two people sharing, would’ve liked another for my hair but that is the smallest complaint everything else was wonderful

I received an email the day before we travelled with directions and the property was easy to find on the seafront opposite the castle. The apartment is located on the edge of the village so was much quieter than if it had been in the centre but was in easy walking distance of everything. We were delighted with the studio apartment. It was well decorated with care and attention to detail and quality. The bed was very comfy.
Carlingford itself is a beautiful little village with lots of historical buildings. The people are very friendly. If you have a chance pop into the Tourist Office where you can have a chat about the history of Carlingford (the stuff not in the leaflets ;) )
For the life of me I could not figure out how to use the cooker or the heater in the bathroom. Even the microwave was difficult to use. Some instructions would have been helpful. It is probably one of those things that are simple once you know how.
Carlingford attracts a lot of hen and stag parties so the town can be fairly busy, and it can be hard to get a table for dinner if you haven't made a reservation.

The Old Boat House is brilliant and in THE best location, right on the water front and steps away from the local Castle.
The bed was super comfy and the heating worked perfectly.
We were very surprised that there was no welcome pack in the way of some uht milk, tea bags and also soap for the shower. Maybe it is not the done thing in Ireland but it woukd be a very nice thing to do. We had just arrived from a very long flight from Australia on a Sunday and really needed to chill out, not go finding a shop for milk and soap. We honestly loved our stay other than this.
